I Am War, Featuring Members of Atreyu + Bleeding Through, Unveil New Video

Razor & Tie I Am War , the new band featuring Atreyu ‘s Alex Varkatzas and Bleeding Through ‘s Brandan Schieppati, have unveiled their first video, ‘Uninvite Me To Your Facebook Party.’ The track appears on the outfit’s debut album ‘Outlive You All.’ Varkatzas says of the song and video, “’Uninvite Me To Your Facebook Party’ is a super-fast, tongue in cheek number about how ridiculous social media can be when people become too obsessed and attached to it. The video itself was a blast to record. Lots of high energy footage of I Am War tearing it up and sweating bullets in the process. The perfect recipe for a killer video!” Schieppati handles guitars, bass, and backing vocals on ‘Outlive You All’ and Varkatzas does the brunt of the vocals. The collaboration began when Varkatzas emailed Schieppati about his idea of doing an album of aggressive and brutal music. “Everything instantly clicked,” Schieppati recalls. “I was stoked when Alex got in touch. We wanted to keep it fast with very little ‘shredding’. It hearkens back to the good ole days of angry music.” Even though their respective bands have been very successful, the duo didn’t feel any pressure for I Am War to top the charts. “Brandan and I aren’t doing this to become rich a–holes and travel the world,” affirms Varkatzas. “We wanted to make an awesome record and release it. There’s no pressure to produce a hit or conquer the charts. The only pressure is not to look like complete jackasses. That’s liberating.” Watch I Am War’s ‘Uninvite Me To Your Facebook Party’ Video

Sister Sin Unleash Video for ‘End of the Line’

Victory Records Swedish metal outfit Sister Sin have unleashed a gritty new video for the new single, ‘End of the Line,’ off of their upcoming album ‘Now and Forever.’ In our exclusive interview with frontwoman Liv Jagrell, she told us all about the new track, saying, “It’s a really good first single, I think, because the whole album is in that style. It shows a different side of Sister Sin because we actually have some keyboards in this song and on some of the other songs, too, and we worked both on the dynamics and on the melodies in a [different] way than the previous album.” Jagrell adds, “On this album and on that song we thought a little bit out of the box and experimented and tried to go out of what our comfort zone is. I think it turned out really good, I’m happy with the album and that song.” The hard hitting video was filmed at an old nuclear reactor testing facility in Stockholm, Sweden, and it intertwines scenes of the band rocking out with narrative shots of Jagrell being held in an institutional room. The personal trainer by day and hard-rocking vocalist by night also shows off some of her strength as she gets sweaty, effortlessly doing some sit-ups and pull-ups in the clip. As far as the lyrics of the Sister Sin tune goes, the songstress states, “It’s about the kinds of scams, political and religious scams and people everywhere trying to tell us the world is going to end but we really just want to try to live today and not to live for tomorrow or for things that might happen. It’s satirical a little bit towards all of those people trying to say what we should do and not do.” Sister Sin’s new album ‘Now and Forever’ arrives on Oct. 22, and can be pre-ordered here in various packages. Jane’s Addiction Guitarist Dave Navarro Joins ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Cast for Two Episodes

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Looks like Charming, Calif., just got a little louder. Jane’s Addiction guitarist and musical outlaw Dave Navarro  has reportedly signed on to guest star in the last two episodes of this season’s ‘Sons of Anarchy’ TV show. According to the Hollywood Reporter , his character will be a member of the Byz-Lats gang, affiliated with Nero Padilla, the “companionator” played by actor Jimmy Smits. Navarro is no stranger to the world of tattoos and debauchery, so he should fit right in with the gang on the FX smash hit. In addition to ‘SOA,’ Navarro is currently starring as one of the judges on the second season of Spike TV’s ‘Ink Master,’ a reality show seeking out the best tattoo artists in the biz. But let’s not forget the music! Closing out the Sons of Anarchy season in rockin’ fashion, Jane’s Addiction’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ will also make an appearance during the Season 5 finale, so tune in to check it out. Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe to Host New Monthly Radio Show ‘The Crucible’

Twiiter: josemangin Randy Blythe is not wasting any time getting back into the swing of things after his recent extended stay in a Czech Republic prison. Lamb of God kick off their U.S. headlining tour later this month and now the fearless frontman is getting his own monthly radio show. Blythe’s new show will be called ‘The Crucible’ and will debut on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal channel. With a format of music mixed with a healthy dose of talk, Blythe will combine the songs that have helped shape him throughout his life in addition to showcasing new artists. He’ll also be sharing his own stories while interviewing other bands of the genre, as well. In a statement released earlier today (Oct. 15) Blythe talks about how the new radio show came to be and what fans can expect [ via The PRP ]: “The reason I came to NYC was to record the first installment of my radio show for Sirius/XM’s Liquid Metal channel. That’s right, I have my own damn radio show now. My homeboy @JoseMangin (who has done a lot for lamb if god since the start) hit me up & said- “Um, dude, do you want a radio show?” WHY NOT? I have decided to call my show THE CRUCIBLE. Besides being a fantastic play by Arthur Miller (and a container that holds MOLTEN METAL), a crucible is defined as a difficult or trying experience, one that you come out of harder and more refined & more pure. Sometimes life is like that- you have to step into the fire to burn away all the crap & and just take the pain that comes with it. It hurts, but if you want to be A BETTER PERSON, you face this stuff & forge yourself anew, PURER & HARDER. One thing that has always helped me through these times is MUSIC. So on my show, I’ll be playing songs by bands that have helped shape me into the man that I am today, that have gotten me through the rough shit. I’ll also be playing songs by newer artists I like, & I’ll be telling some stories about what all the tunes mean to me. Then, once every show if I can, I will interview a member of one of the bands I’ll be playing, & I’ll ask them about what their music means to them. Right now (due to scheduling & my uncertain future), the show will be once a month- I want to do it more often eventually, but right now I’m kinda busy & have a situation to settle. For my first guest, I wanted someone who has seen some hard times himself, who has gone through some brutal stuff & come out a better man. I needed a real-deal, no bullshit, highly respected & moral, yet hard-as nails motherfucker. I immediately thought of one dude. He’s a legend & a good friend of mine, so he came up to do my first show & KICK IT.” Blythe’s first guest is none other than John Joseph of the Cro-Mags according to a photo recently posted by Liquid Metal host Jose Mangin on his Twitter feed, seen above. No word yet on when the show will debut on SiriusXM, but stay tuned for details! Korn’s Munky Unveils Fear and the Nervous System Documentary

Ethan Miller, Getty Images Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer has taken his experimental rock side project Fear and the Nervous System on the road for the first time, playing two shows over the weekend in California. He has also unveiled a documentary on the project (watch below). The band’s self-titled debut album was released last month, and the documentary features never-before-seen footage of 2007 jam sessions with Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion) and Billy Gould ( Faith No More ) that shaped the album. “Zac Baird (Korn touring keyboardist) and I had worked on a few ideas while touring with Korn,” Shaffer says. “So, when we started to record, those song ideas were our jumping off point. But, 90 percent of the album was created on the spot, then recorded. We were lucky to get the people we wanted to become involved with the project.” Rehearsal footage of Fear and the Nervous System preparing for last weekend’s kickoff of their first tour is also included. In addition to Shaffer, Baird, Wackerman and Gould, the band includes Repeater vocalist Steve Krolikowski and guitarist Leopold Ross. Fear and the Nervous System have two more shows scheduled next weekend. On Friday (Oct. 19), they will play in Bakersfield, Calif., and on Saturday (Oct. 20), they are in West Hollywood at the Roxy.
