Grammy’s Have Become Hard To Watch

Last night was the 2014 Grammy Awards and it was very hard to watch. The show has become so ridiculous and of course the award show snubs Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. The Grammy Award show even managed to ruin the closing artists performance, as usual.

Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, and Queens of the Stone Age were in the middle of their performance when the credits started rolling. Really? Yes they did, totally ruining a great performance.

Unfortunately for rock fans who had been waiting the entire show for the performance, the producers decided midway through the song to show some of the Grammy sponsors and roll the closing credits over a distant shot of the stage while the band continued to play. The broadcast actually ended while the all-star finale was still onstage performing. After the show, Reznor expressed his displeasure with the following tweet:

Music’s biggest night… to be disrespected. A heartfelt FUCK YOU guys.

The one unifying factor of all the members of the finale is that they were linked through Grohl’s documentary, ‘Sound City,’ which helped earn the singer-drummer-turned-director two Grammys earlier in the evening.

The only thing the Grammy Award show managed to get right was Metallica’s performance.

Heavy Metal and Hard Rock to me are considered more music than Rap. Metal bands and Hard Rock bands play instruments and are pretty damn good at what they do, but the Grammy’s will give three awards to two guys who wear robot costumes. I think it is time to do away with the Grammy’s until they give Metal/Hard Rock the credit it deserves.
