Randy Blythe Taking Break From Lamb of God

Looks like Lamb of God will have a longer than usual break between albums this time around, maybe even a permanent break. Randy Blythe has announced he is taking time off and won’t even think about Lamb of God for a long time.

So what does this mean. For me personally, this sucks. I have not been able to see Lamb of God since 2009. I had tickets to see them on the Resolution tour but the Czech Republic had other ideas. So my tour date was cancelled and never rescheduled. So this sucks, are they becoming like Metallica? Put out an album every 6-8 years?

What do the other members of Lamb of God think? They spent a boat load of money on legal fee’s for Randy, now he’s just going to check out. If I was a member I would be like, hey we need to get back to work and make up all that money we lost. Maybe they don’t care about money, some people don’t. But the bills still come due at the end of each month.

Lamb of God owes no one anything, but if it were me, I’d be trying to make it up to all the fans who got left out due to the unfortunate incident that cost Lamb of God’s tour schedule.

Here’s a direct quote from Randy:

“And so another album cycle comes to an end. This has been a very eventful, at times VERY STRESSFUL, album cycle, & it’s been about three years since we started on this one in our practice space- I need a break. Tomorrow is a 19 hour flight back to the USA, & then another one home to RVA, & except for two festival shows in 2014, I will not be thinking about lamb of god, touring, playing heavy metal, writing new lamb of god material- NONE OF THAT STUFF- AT ALL- for a good long while. Time to do other things for a bit, & let my brain regroup, & be a somewhat normal human being.

Hey Randy, you’re not a normal human being. You have talent and so do your bandmates. This ride won’t last forever, so get back out there while your still relevant.
