Kyng Forced to Pull Out of Tour With Clutch Due to Injured Band Member

Stephanie Cabral California rock trio Kyng are known as road warriors but they have been forced to drop off their most recent trek with Clutch due to an injury sustained by their bassist Tony Castaneda. Castaneda was involved in an unfortunate auto accident and this unexpected situation will also delay Kyng’s plans to record their sophomore follow up to their debut ‘Trampled Sun’ with producer Jim Rota (Fireball Ministry, Sound City), and Andrew Alekel in Los Angeles this spring. Although the injury has affected the band’s touring schedule and recording plans, Kyng will continue the process of working on their forthcoming record with a planned release for this Summer. Below are a list of Kyng’s canceled tour dates. Clutch will move forward on the road with supporting acts Orange Goblin and Lionize. Texas band Scorpion Kings are set to take the place of Kyng on the bill. Airbourne Reveal New Album Release Plans + Six Flags Roller Coaster Partnership

Roadrunner Records Aussie rockers Airbourne are making the most of this thing called rock and roll, providing the “rock” with their upcoming album ‘Black Dog Barking’ and announcing a partnership with Six Flags that offers the “roll” as their music will be used in association with the theme park’s new roller coaster. The ‘Black Dog Barking’ album is the band’s third release and it’s now on the schedule for a May 21 release through Roadrunner Records. The band hooked up with acclaimed producer Brian Howes on the disc. The group stated off the effort, “A lot of thought and effort has gone into this record not only by the band, but by the production crew who worked countless hours, seven days a week, even through Christmas and New Year’s Eve to achieve the best possible performances, backed by real undying tones. Now we’re handing it over to you … so crank it up, crack a beer and stick some rock ‘n’ roll in your ear!” The band have yet to announce any North American shows, but several European appearances running from late May into early July have been revealed. As for their partnership with Six Flags, the band created a song for the theme park’s Full Throttle roller coaster. The “full throttle” edition of ‘Live It Up’ will be released by the band to coincide with the opening at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, Calif. later this spring and will be played in the park’s entertainment system. The ‘Full Throttle’ coaster is described as the tallest, fastest looping roller coaster in the world. In addition to ‘Live It Up,’ Six Flags will also feature additional music from various Roadrunner artists throughout their park. ‘Live It Up’ will also appear on the ‘Black Dog Barking’ album. Baroness Unveil Video for ‘March to the Sea’

Relapse Baroness have released a new video for their masterful and immersive track ‘March to the Sea.’ Based on footage from their 2012 tour with Meshuggah and Decapitated , ‘March to the Sea’ showcases the mighty Baroness at the hottest point of their career before their catastrophic bus crash only months later. Having experienced a unique year to say the least, Baroness released their self-professed masterwork, ‘Yellow & Green,’ last year, which was met with universal praise from critics. The band’s bus crash in England thankfully left none dead, but the members of Baroness sustained serious injuries after plummeting 30 feet off a roadside cliff. The harrowing experience was detailed to us in a three-part interview Loudwire conducted with frontman John Baizley. The band members continue to lick their wounds, but the Georgia rockers are preparing for a full-on return soon. “So here is another video for everyone out there!” shares guitarist Pete Adams.  “This was filmed while we were on tour with Meshuggah in the Spring of 2012.  Some of you may recognize the footage from several of those shows and the ‘Take My Bones Away’ video as well. We were excited to be back out as it had been since December of 2010 when we had our last tour before taking time off to write ‘Yellow & Green.’ You can see from the video we were happy to be back on the road.  We’re happy now to have this video to share with you all. Enjoy.” ‘March to the Sea’ gives Baroness fans an incredible desire to see the band onstage once again, but until that happens, enjoy the group’s new video for ‘March to the Sea,’ a track that made Loudwire’s list of the 10 Best Rock Songs of 2012. The Black Keys Sign on for Grammy Performance, Announce New Album Start Date

Theo Wargo, Getty Images The Black Keys were one of the top nominees when the Grammy Award nominations were announced last month and the band has confirmed they will take the stage to perform  at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 in Los Angeles. The group is among the first confirmed performers for music’s biggest night. They’ll join alterna-rockers fun. and Mumford & Sons , pop star Rihanna and country favorite Taylor Swift in playing this year’s ceremony. The band received five nominations — Album of the Year and Best Rock Album for ‘El Camino’ and Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for ‘Lonely Boy.’ In addition, singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach also earned a solo nod as Producer of the Year. While ‘El Camino’ has been a stellar record for the band and the group still has plans to promote it on tour, the duo are also trying to stay ahead of the game and have set aside some time to record for their next studio album this month. Speaking with Uncut magazine (excerpted by NME ), Auerbach stated, “We’re going to start making the new album in the second week of January and we’re hoping to have it done by some time in March. Then we have a couple of weeks of touring, then we’re going to take the summer off, which we haven’t done in a while.” Although there is studio time blocked out, the vocalist admits, “The record isn’t written yet. We’ll do it when we get in the studio. This is when we both work best, when we’re dying to make an album. All of our records take place in the studio, in that we make stuff up while we’re there.” As for the touring that Auerbach spoke of, he’s referring to the handful of shows they have scheduled for the spring with the Flaming Lips . The short, four-date run consists of performances in Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and the Black Keys’ home base of Nashville. The Black Keys / Flaming Lips 2013 Tour: 4/28 — Kansas City, Mo. — Sprint Center 4/30 — Pittsburgh, Pa. — Consol Energy Center 5/2 — Atlanta, Ga. — Aaron’s Amphitheatre 5/3 — Nashville, Tenn. — Bridgestone Arena [button href=”http://loudwire.com/the-black-keys-patrick-carney-married/” title=”Next: The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Gets Married” align=”center”]
