Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Immolation + More to Embark on 2013 Decibel Magazine Tour

Decibel Magazine Crushing! Absolutely crushing! Decibel Magazine brought an incredibly evil tour headlined by Behemoth last year and a massive celebration for their 100th issue with Converge and Pig Destroyer this past weekend, but the publication has outdone itself once again with a 2013 tour featuring Cannibal Corpse , Napalm Death and many more. If your skull just happens to be in one piece and you’d like to change that in the near future, we highly recommend these upcoming North American dates. Beginning on May 10 in Houston, Texas, Cannibal Corpse will headline the 2013 Decibel Magazine Tour along with support from legendary grinders Napalm Death and death metal maniacs Immolation along with Beyond Creation, Cretin and Magrudergrind. These acts are all truly awesome, and are certain to keep North American crowds energized and entertained at each stop. Cannibal Corpse remains as one of death metal’s most legendary acts, having released their 2012 full-length, ‘Torture,’ to acclaim from both audiences and critics. “We’re psyched to be headlining this year’s Decibel Magazine Tour along with Immolation and Napalm Death,” remarks Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster in a press release. “This is a lineup of bands that have been a consistent part of the death/grind scene for decades, and we’re proud to be a part of it. It will be a legendary night for extreme music.” Napalm Death also experienced a career-defining year in 2012, releasing the masterful ‘Utilitarian,’ which landed at No. 2 on our Top 10 Metal Albums of 2012 list. Bring Me the Horizon Confirm Departure of Guitarist Jona Weinhofen

Epitaph Bring Me the Horizon have parted ways with guitarist Jona Weinhofen. The guitarist is also a founding member of Australian metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen, and although the media has just noticed the news, a year-old Tumblr post from Weinhofen points to the possibility that the musician had left Bring Me the Horizon a while ago. Today, (Jan. 14) many metal news outlets have announced Weinhofen’s departure from the group, citing an official comment from Bring Me the Horizon just released. The British band reportedly broke the news very recently with a short post. Offering absolutely no explanation as to why Weinhofen was no longer a member of the band, Bring Me the Horizon writes: Bring Me The Horizon are Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matthew Kean, Matthew Nicholls and Jordan Fish. Jona Weinhofen is no longer in the band. According to a Tweet by new BMTH member Jordan Fish, he has not replaced Weinhofen on guitar, taking the position of the band’s keyboardist. The missing pieces of Jona Weinhofen’s departure of the band may possibly be filled by a year-old post on the guitarist’s Tumblr page: After a lot of time and thought ive decided to leave my current position as guitarist with Bring Me The Horizon. things in the band have been very tense with a lot of disagreements between myself and certain members who i wont name. im thankful for my time with BMTH and i have met many good friends and been able to travel the world more. Im planning on moving back to Australia to pursue other musical ventures. thanks Jona No new rhythm guitarist has been announced by Bring Me the Horizon, but stay tuned for a potential update on the band’s lineup. Anthrax Tap Shadows Fall Guitarist Jon Donais to Fill Vacant Band Slot on Upcoming Tour

ESP Guitars / Megaforce Anthrax have not named a full-time replacement yet for exiting guitarist Rob Caggiano , but they will at least be covered for their upcoming tours. The band revealed that Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais will sit in with the band for their upcoming Fly Festival dates in India, the Soundwave Festival shows in a Australia and the group’s headlining slot on the  Metal Alliance trek in North America. Caggiano recently surprised fans by announcing his departure from Anthrax, stating he’d like to concentrate on producing and other studio work. With so many gigs on their 2013 itinerary, Anthrax acted swiftly to add Donais to their touring lineup “Jon is a bro and he’s a total f—ing ripper,” says Anthrax guitarist  Scott Ian of Donais. “I’ve worked with him twice on side projects and he tears it up. I’m excited to have him on my right burning up the stage with Anthrax. ’13′s gonna be a good year.” Donais expresses his excitement at the opportunity, adding, “I grew up on Anthrax. They’re the thrash scene, they’re one of the Big Four. I’d be crazy to not want to play with them. Initially, Rob called and told me he was leaving the band and asked if I’d be interested in filling in. Then Scott called me and everything fell into place.” The guitarist revealed that he’s also working closely with the man he’s replacing, as he and Caggiano are using Skype to work on solos and other guitar parts. “He’s being great,” reveals Donais. “I also have to give special thanks to my band [Shadows Fall] — Brian, Matt, Jason and Ed — who have been incredibly supportive and encouraged me to do this.” Shadows Fall, meanwhile, have t our dates scheduled from Jan. 26 through April 19. No word on who will be filling in for Donais on the block of dates that conflict with his stint on Anthrax’s trek. Bring Me the Horizon vs. Suffocation – Death Match

Epitaph / Nuclear Blast Welcome to the first Death Match of 2013! Connecticut hardcore heroes Hatebreed  ended 2012 with four consecutive wins, locking up a spot in the Death Match Hall of Fame. With Hatebreed’s ‘Put It to the Torch’ declared as immortal, we have two vacant spots for this week’s match. Bring Me the Horizon have just released the single ‘Shadow Moses’ from the band’s upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Sempiternal,’ due April 30. The British metalcore heroes have secured their place as kings of the new school, but their opponents mapped out the very blueprint for brutal death metal. Death metal pioneers Suffocation unleashed ‘As Grace Descends’ during the final days of 2012, brutalizing all who had the bravery to listen. Suffocation’s next album, ‘Pinnacle of Bedlam,’ will be unleashed on Feb. 15, and it will surely prove to be one of this year’s heaviest albums. Can Bring Me the Horizon begin a successful quest to the sacred Hall of Fame? Or will Suffocation choke the life out of the British deathcore act? Your votes will decide the winner. Choose your favorite track in the poll below! (This Death Match ends on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10AM ET. Fans can vote once per hour! So come back and vote often to make sure your favorite song wins!)
