Stone Temple Pilots Singer Scott Weiland Engaged to Photographer Jamie Wachtel

Mike Lawrie, Getty Images When it comes to love, Scott Weiland is counting on the old adage that the third time’s a charm. The Stone Temple Pilots singer recently announced that he’s now engaged to girlfriend Jamie Wachtel. The couple have been dating for about a year, and the upcoming nuptials will mark Weiland’s third marriage. Weiland gushed to Rolling Stone about his special lady, saying, “She’s the greatest thing that’s happened to me in a long, long time.” He continued to share his feelings about her, explaining, “She is incredibly beautiful in every aspect of the word. Lovely, smart, passionate.” The couple first met on a video shoot for Weiland’s Christmas album released last winter, ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.’ Wachtel was working on set as a photographer and the two hit it off almost instantaneously as Wachtel helped calm Weiland’s nerves during the shoot with a little bit of humor. “I was leaning against this fireplace, and she’s like, ‘You might want to tuck in your belly a little bit,’” Weiland recalled. “It was around the holidays – it was after Thanksgiving, and you know how that tends to be. I was kind of caught off guard, and I started laughing and she started laughing. And I don’t know . . . something magical happened.” Weiland admits that he had pretty much given up on love before meeting Wachtel. “I had fallen in love a couple times in my life and then for a long time, I’ve been very disappointed and to the point where I’ve been resolved to the fact that possibly it would never happen again and almost accepted that it would be OK,” confessed Weiland. “And then I met her.” The two are planning a spring wedding, but before that Weiland has a handful of solo dates in late November, including stops in Pa., N.Y. and N.J. Tickets are available here . Congrats to the happy couple! [button href=”http://loudwire.com/scott-weiland-musician-mug-shots/” title=”Next: Scott Weiland – Musician Mug Shots” align=”center”]

Singer Chris Brown Dons Jacket With Logos of Municipal Waste, Cro-Mags + More

Brendon Thorne, Getty Images / Nuclear Blast This week in irritating poser news (we assume), R&B singer  Chris Brown was recently spotted in a leather jacket covered in the logos of legendary punk and crossover thrash acts. Brown, who once made headlines for physically abusing then-girlfiend Rihanna, spent a night on the town adorned with both blue and zebra-striped patches, along with the logos of Municipal Waste , Suicidal Tendencies , Cro-Mags , Corrosion of Conformity , D.R.I., The Exploited and more. The world of someone like Chris Brown is deeply rooted in fashion, so apparently the sarcastic adoption of underground passion is in this winter. Obviously we can’t prove it, but it seems pretty safe to assume that Chris Brown has never listened to any of these pulverizing, aggressive, circle pit-starting acts. Predictably, fans who have found genuine purpose and solace within the underground scene aren’t pleased with Brown’s jacket, with a sentiment of bastardization shared between proud supporters of their favorite bands. Municipal Waste tweeted a reaction to their inclusion on Chris Brown’s jacket: For the record. Chris Brown can sport our shit all he wants. We still think he is a fucking moron. — MUNICIPAL WASTE (@MUNICIPALWASTE) November 18, 2012 There’s always the chance that Brown is an out-of-the-closet metalhead, but we doubt that. Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe to Learn if He’ll Stand Trial for Criminal Charges by November’s End

Bradley Kanaris, Getty Images Lamb of God ‘s Randy Blythe  will learn in the coming weeks whether or not he’ll have to stand trial on criminal charges in the Czech Republic, as the case file has been sent to the prosecutor for review. Czech news site iDNES.cz reports that police have completed their investigation into the alleged manslaughter case and recommended that the vocalist be indicted and ordered to return to the Czech Republic to stand trial. The prosecutor in charge of the case will now review the facts and determine whether there is enough criminal liability to pursue the case further. A spokesperson for the Municipal Public Prosecutor’s Office in Prague, Stephanka Zenklova, stated that a decision on the matter will be made before the end of November. The singer was arrested this summer for his alleged involvement in the death of an audience member who sustained an injury after being thrown off the stage at their show. The injury didn’t immediately present itself, and the victim passed away a month later. Blythe spent 37 days in a Czech prison before finally being set free on bail. Shortly after arriving back in the U.S., the vocalist stated that he planned to return to face the charge and that the victim’s family had the right to some answers. He added, “I want my name cleared. I have to go around the world and tour, you know. That’s what I do. I’m not going to hide here. I’m an innocent man. I’m going to go to court and see what happens.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/best-lamb-of-god-songs/” title=”Next: 10 Best Lamb of God Songs” align=”center”]

Jon Bon Jovi’s Daughter Stephanie Cleared of Heroin and Marijuana Possession Charges

Larry Busacca, Getty Images One of music’s top stories of the week has been Jon Bon Jovi ‘s daughter Stephanie suffering an alleged heroin overdose in a college dorm room. The 19-year-old was rushed to the hospital and held under arrest, ultimately facing numerous charges, but Bon Jovi’s daughter has reportedly been let off the hook. Stephanie Bongiovi, 19, was arrested at Hamilton College in New York, where she and fellow student Ian Grant, 21, were booked for charges of possessing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Despite being hit with these charges, TMZ is reporting that both parties have been cleared of charges due to the ‘ 911 Good Samaritan ‘ bill that was passed by Governor Cuomo in 2011. The ’911 Good Samaritan’ bill was enacted to help prevent drug overdose deaths and encourage those who witness a potential overdose to help save lives without fearing arrest for drug or alcohol possession. Thus, TMZ writes that the District Attorney has dropped the charges in compliance with the bill. Neither Stephanie nor Jon Bon Jovi have chosen to make any sort of statement regarding the incident.

Hinder Frontman: New Album is Reflective of ‘Really Dark Drug Binge’

Ethan Miller/Getty Images Hard rockers Hinder are back with a new album, ‘Welcome to the Freakshow,’ out Dec. 4 , and frontman Austin Winkler isn’t holding back when it comes to opening up about the inspiration behind the album’s heavy tracks. Winkler says most of the songs are a reflection of “a really, really dark drug binge,” which drove him to rehab after the band finished the album. “I was in a very, very, very dark addiction,” Winkler told Billboard . “I think you can definitely hear the turmoil in my voice. As soon as we got the record done I went into treatment to get help, and it’s interesting to go back and listen to it now. Coming back, I have a whole new look on all of them and they mean something completely different to me now, too, so it’s pretty cool. That’s the beauty of music.” Hinder’s first single off the album, “Save Me,” is currently No. 25 on the BDS Radio chart for active rock. Winkler says the song is certainly indicative of the dark place he was in at the time of recording the album. “I was kind of in the mind set of, ‘Get out of my face. I’m too far gone to be saved,’ kind of thing,” he says. “I had a really nasty attitude in that song, but I had a blast singing and recording it. I think it’s our heaviest single yet, and we’re getting a pretty good response.” Hinder are set to play a handful of U.S. shows with Nonpoint before 2012 is over. Hinder 2012 Tour Dates: Dec. 5 – Battlecreek, Mich. @ Planet Rock Dec. 7 – Kenosha, Wis. @ The Brat Shop Dec. 8 – Fort Wayne, Ind. @ Pieres Dec. 9 – Flint, Mich. Dec. 12 – Lancaster, Pa. @ Chameleon Club
