Slash’s Wife Critiques Axl Rose’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ Appearance, Weighs in on His Weight

Angela Weiss, Getty Images Slash may be telling interviewers he’s finished discussing his years in Guns N’ Roses — or his relationship with Axl Rose — but that moratorium apparently doesn’t apply to his wife, Perla Hudson. Mrs. Slash tossed another log on the long-smoldering feud between Rose and his exiled former guitarist in a recent series of comments to Us Weekly , indicating she was less than impressed with Axl’s appearance earlier this week on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ “I was waiting for something enlightening and all I got was promotion for a show and his evident affinity for a chili burger,” quipped Hudson. “Where is the love, Axl? And I stayed up for this? Sex, drugs and chili dogs. Long live Axl Rose. And a Halloween tree.” Continuing to joke about Rose’s well-documented affinity for parting ways with band members — and pointing out that he’s no longer the rail-thin rock god he was in his youth — Hudson added, “He’s had a Slash, a Buckethead and a Bumblefoot, and evidently way too many Tommy’s chili burgers! Hope there were some left for the audience!” Perla was referring to Rose’s announcement at the end of his segment that he was giving away burgers to all of the members of the studio audience. Hell evidently hath no fury like a scorned guitarist’s wife. We wouldn’t expect to hear anything in response from Axl’s camp, but you never know — this war of words has been going on for nearly 20 years now, and shows no signs of stopping. Slash Explains URL Slashes on ‘Conan’

Conan Colons, forward slashes, backward slashes, dots and coms — writing a URL can be a tricky business. And who better to set the record straight than rock’s very own Slash ? Slash weighed in on the subject during last night’s (Oct. 15) episode of ‘ Conan ‘ during the ‘Fan Corrections’ segment, which finds viewers sending in videos where they point out what they think are mistakes in the show. According to a YouTube user calling himself JRok34, the URL ‘Conan’ provides for ‘Fan Corrections’ submissions — which includes a small photo of Slash’s head where the slash should be — is incorrect, because it should be leaning forward. ( Forward Slash — get it?) For the definitive answer, Conan turned to Slash himself, who taped a brief response from a recording studio wherein he pointed out that because the picture shows him looking ahead, it’s very much a forward Slash — and then he demonstrated the difference between that and a back Slash by turning around and showing his back to the camera. Having made his case, he concluded by adding, “Sorry, JRok34, but you don’t know s— about HTTP addresses.” Hard to argue with that logic, no? Check out the video below to watch Slash kick his knowledge of all things internet.

Velvet Revolver Drummer Matt Sorum Discusses Band Uncertainty

John Shearer, Getty Images Drummer Matt Sorum looks upon his tenure with Velvet Revolver as some of the best times of his career, but he definitely has some reservations about whether the band will continue. Speaking with ‘Source of the Sound With Wendy Campbell’ (audio below), Sorum initially referred to the band in past tense while using the term “broke up,” before correcting his wording and explaining, “I can’t say we’ve broken up because it’s a hiatus.” When asked about the possibility of continuing with former frontman Scott Weiland , he moved on from the notion quickly and changed the topic to Slash and his satisfaction with his current band. Sorum explained, “I think Slash is really kind of happy being Slash and not really dealing with the drama of being in a band. He’s the leader of his band and they go on stage on time and they play songs. And I’ve gotta kind of respect Slash for that, because he spent most of his career waiting around for people to show up. [laughs] [So he wants to just] go out on the road and have a nice easy go of it. Get on a tour bus [with] a new band, play songs. I totally respect that.” Sorum says of his time with the band, “Velvet Revolver, in my opinion, was a miracle, in a way. Because here we are, guys in our 40s, putting together a band that’s gonna be [perceived] as a modern rock and roll band. And we achieved that. We were competing against much younger guys, we had a huge success with it. I got my first Grammy, which was amazing and it was really, for me, one of the highlights of my life, because number one, I was an original member for the first time ever; I was always the guy that came in and took somebody’s place. Velvet Revolver [consisted of] guys that I already played with before, but it was considered a new band.” Though Velvet Revolver continues to be on hold, Sorum hasn’t let it stop his musical pursuits. He’s been working with a group of rock vets called Kings of Chaos, and also taking on more production roles of late. He recently finished a record with Diamond Baby and is heading into the studio to oversee another band’s record. Sorum also turns up on the ‘ Re-Machined ‘ Deep Purple tribute album. Slash Postpones Los Angeles Show Due to Ailing Singer Myles Kennedy

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Slash ‘s Los Angeles date will have to wait as singer Myles Kennedy has come down ill. As a result, the group has postponed tonight’s (Oct. 3) show at the Wiltern until Dec. 2. “We want to be 100% for this gig and we’re just not at this moment,” said the guitarist. “We’ll be back Dec. 2 in fighting form. See you then.” Kennedy added, “My apologies to everyone who was planning on coming out to the show tonight. I promise to make it up to you when we return in a few months.” The Los Angeles show would have been a special one for Slash as it would have been a homecoming performance. Earlier this year, the guitar great was saluted with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame , and he’s previously been honored at the Sunset Strip Music Festival as well for his contributions to the Los Angeles music scene. There has been no confirmation of any change in Slash’s plans to appear on Conan tomorrow night (Oct. 4), but with Kennedy ailing, it’s worth monitoring. Meanwhile, Slash recently released an animated video for the group’s latest single, ‘ Bad Rain .’ The legendary guitarist has also been working on the score to the horror film ‘ Nothing to Fear .’ He [button href=”http://loudwire.com/slash-limited-edition-deluxe-four-disc-box-set/” title=”Next: Slash Reveals Deluxe Box Set Details” align=”center”]

Slash Records Score for Horror Film ‘Nothing to Fear,’ Books ‘Conan’ Performance

Jo Hale, Getty Images Slash might be branching out into film production, but he’s still a rocker at heart — so it only makes sense that ‘Nothing to Fear,’ the debut release from his Slasher Films banner, will feature a Slash score. He broke the news via his Facebook page yesterday (Oct. 1), writing, “Going into the studio tonight to work on ‘Nothing to Fear’ score. It’s really coming together” and adding a top-hatted winking smiley face emoticon. While a release date for the movie has yet to be announced, it’s already picked up a distributor — as reported in January , ‘Nothing to Fear’ will be released by Anchor Bay. Featuring the freaky antics of a lunatic preacher in a small Kansas town that is supposedly “one of the seven gateways to Hell,” it sounds like good old-fashioned horror fun, and the perfect vehicle for a few Slash instrumentals. On the non-film front, Slash is still out promoting his latest album, the Top 5 Billboard hit ‘Apocalyptic Love.’ The night after concluding their current tour, he’ll bring his band to ‘Conan’ on Thursday (Oct. 4) for a performance of their latest single, ‘Standing in the Sun.’

Slash Unveils Animated Video for ‘Bad Rain’

YouTube Slash is once again delving into the animated world, but this time with a more sinister turn in the video for ‘Bad Rain.’ The guitar great and his animated counterparts turn up as the house band at a strip club that holds a dark secret. In the video, an older gentleman enters the club and is immediately transfixed by the fetching redhead with the snake tattoo dancing upon the stage while Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators play in the background. The woman has seemingly every man in the place glued to her every move, but the latest arrival is the one garnering most of her attention. As she continues to mesmerize the gentleman in the front row, he starts to notice that the people around him are not what they seem. But we won’t give any more of the video away. Watch for yourself below. This isn’t the first time Slash has been involved with animation, as Velvet Revolver ‘s ‘ Dirty Little Thing ‘ clip had animated elements. The rocker also appeared in animated form for Disney’s ‘ Phineas and Ferb ‘ film. ‘Bad Rain’ appears on Slash’s latest album, ‘ Apocalyptic Love .’ In other Slash news, the guitarist and his band will perform on TBS’ ‘Conan’ on Oct. 4. The guitarist has been a longtime supporter of the late night host, famously donning a ‘I’m With Coco’ pin while performing on Jay Leno’s late night show. Watch Slash’s ‘Bad Rain’ Video ?
