Device’s David Draiman Praises Lzzy Hale’s Contribution to Ozzy Osbourne / Lita Ford Cover

Ethan Miller, Getty Images / Kathy Flynn, There is plenty of anticipation for Device ‘s debut album, especially given the star-studded lineup of guests that appear on the disc alongside David Draiman . The vocalist spoke to Revolver about one of his favorite collaborations — a duet cover with Lzzy Hale on the Ozzy Osbourne / Lita Ford classic ‘Close My Eyes Forever’ — and shared why the Halestorm vocalist was the right woman for the track. The singer explains, “For years I’d wanted to re-do ‘Close My Eyes Forever’ by Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne. I always thought it was a fantastic idea and needed the right combination of elements and events and needed to have the right woman to play the role of Lita in this song, and Lzzy Hale, in my opinion, is the strongest, most distinctive voice, female voice, in rock today. I think that she’s just as good as it gets.” In the video interview clip, Draiman goes on to praise all of his guests and states how blessed he feels to have gotten Glenn Hughes , Geezer Butler , Tom Morello and others to contribute to Device’s debut album. The band’s self-titled debut disc is due April 9. The lead single, ‘Vilify,’ is expected to arrive on Feb. 19. New Limp Bizkit Song ‘Lightz (City of Angels)’ Surfaces Online

YouTube Limp Bizkit  are back with a new song, ‘Lightz (City of Angels),’ which surfaced online over the weekend. A music video for the song had appeared on YouTube but was since taken down. However, you can still listen to the tune below. Frontman Fred Durst  sent out a  tweet to fans congratulating him on the track, saying, “Thank you, but it is NOT our first single / video. It was leaked prematurely.” The song ‘Lightz’ is a little bit more poppy than some of the group’s late ’90s rock efforts and shows some evolution in their sound. Durst both sings and raps on the track, and it has more of a anthemic yet melodic feel to it. However, there is definitely something for the rock fans as Wes Borland gets in a solid guitar solo midway into the track. The tune will likely appear on the band’s upcoming Cash Money records debut album, ‘Stampede of the Disco Elephants.’ In related news, the group is working on a new music video for the ‘Urban Assault Version’ of ‘Ready to Go,’ their collaboration with rapper Lil’ Wayne . The band has posted shots from the video shoot here , here , here , and here . Soundgarden Unleash New Single ‘Been Away Too Long’

Universal Republic What a fitting title for Soundgarden ‘s brand new single, since for all intents and purposes, they had ‘Been Away Too Long.’ Diehard fans of the Seattle band have missed them for the past several years, and while the reunion, live performances and ‘Avengers’ song ‘Live to Rise’ have been rad and appreciated, this is the beefy, puts-hair-on-your-chest Soundgarden rocker we’ve been waiting for. ‘Been Away Too Long’ is a frenetic, fast-paced song that calls to mind the band’s earlier catalog, thanks to raw, booming riffs, jackhammer percussion and Chris Cornell’s bluesy, soulful pipes. It’s got an anthemic and urgent quality, especially in the chunky verses. So if you’ve got long hair, this song is designed to get you to start whipping it around while rocking out with furious, reckless abandon. Overall, there’s not an overabundance of polish, and it’s not pretty, which is preferred. Instead, it’s potent, hell yeah, high-five hard rock. Just like we like it. The song will appear on the band’s upcoming album ‘King Animal,’ due out Nov. 13. After tearing through this song a few times, check out our 10 Best Soundgarden Songs list . Deftones Debut New Song ‘Roller Derby’ in Hollywood

Hot on the heels of premiering the new song ‘Rosemary,’ Deftones shared another new jam called ‘Roller Derby.’ The ‘Tones performed both ‘Rosemary’ and ‘Roller Derby’ last night (July 28) at another gig at the Troubadour in Hollywood. You can view live footage of both songs, which are expected to appear on the band’s upcoming album, below. ‘Roller Derby’ is quintessential Deftones, featuring that signature tension between the vocals and
