YouTube It’s not uncommon for bands to give fans a taste of their new music ahead of its release, especially in this download-happy world. But Bullet for My Valentine are previewing their new ‘ Temper Temper ‘ album with a twist on the “album preview” idea. In the first of a four-part exclusive series with Loudwire, the group is showing off some of the solos from their upcoming disc (watch below). The solos video takes the viewer right into the studio as all four band members lay down the music for their new album, with the focus centered on the guitar and bass play. The four-part series will also include videos featuring their riffs, screams and choruses, with a new clip debuting each week leading up to the ‘Temper Temper’ album release on Feb. 12. Be sure to check in weekly to catch the latest installment. ‘Temper Temper’ is already off to a great start thanks to the title track and their most recent single ‘ Riot .’ The band just released the video for ‘Riot,’ which can be seen here . Fans can currently pre-order the deluxe ‘Temper Temper’ album at iTunes . The group will get a chance to support the ‘Temper Temper’ album in North America in the coming months, as they’re headlining the HardDrive Live Tour with support from Halestorm and Young Guns . Cayne: Official Facebook Page Sad news for metal fans everywhere: founding Lacuna Coil guitarist Claudio Leo, who also played for Italian metal band Cayne, has passed away. Leo was an essential member of Lacuna Coil in the band’s early stages, helping form the massive group in the mid-90s when they were known as Sleep of Right. The guitarist remained in Lacuna Coil until 1998, lending his talents to the band’s self-titled EP, which was released via Century Media Records the same year Leo and Lacuna Coil went their separate ways. After leaving Lacuna Coil, Leo and fellow ex-Lacuna Coil guitarist Raffaele Zagaria began Cayne in 1999, releasing their debut album, ‘Old Faded Pictures,’ in 2001. Cayne’s most recent release is the ‘Addicted EP,’ and the band is scheduled to release a new album on Valentine’s Day of this year. Lacuna Coil vocalist Cristina Scabbia posted a heartfelt statement on her official Facebook fan page, paying tribute to her former bandmate: It’s with deep sadness that I inform you all know that our dear friend and ex guitar player Claudio Leo left us. My deepest condolences to his family, close friends and the band Cayne. You will always be remembered for your strength and positivity. We love you, Claudio. Cayne also memorialized their fallen guitarist with a simple update: Goodbye Claudio. Rest in peace, brother. No cause of death has been revealed as of this posting, although it has been reported that Leo was suffering from a serious illness recently. During the Offpsring’s set, Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara would join the band for a stripped down version of ‘Gone Away.’ A video of an October performance of the song at a show at the Hollywood Palladium, as well as footage of the pair recording a studio version of the song, has been released (watch below). “When we started building our own set list, I realized the stripped-down version of ‘Gone Away,’ which we’ve been doing for a few years, would fit Emily’s voice really well,” Offspring singer Dexter Holland tells Rolling Stone . “It turned out to be a special moment in the show each night.” ‘Gone Away,’ off the album ‘Ixnay on the Hombre,’ recently made our list of the 10 Best Offspring Songs . A new version was re-recorded by the band and Armstrong with help from producer Bob Rock. The Offspring released their ninth album ‘ Days Go By ‘ last June. They are set to play the 2013 Soundwave Festival in Australia. They will play Feb. 23 in Brisbane, with shows to follow in Sydney (Feb. 24), Melbourne (March 1), Adelaide (March 2), and Perth (March 4). They will also play a few dates in Australia after the festival wraps up. Dead Sara will continue opening for high profile acts in 2013. They are slated to open for Muse on their North American tour that kicks off Feb. 22. Armstrong is excited about the trek . “We never thought in a million years it would happen like this. Relapse Baroness have released a new video for their masterful and immersive track ‘March to the Sea.’ Based on footage from their 2012 tour with Meshuggah and Decapitated , ‘March to the Sea’ showcases the mighty Baroness at the hottest point of their career before their catastrophic bus crash only months later. Having experienced a unique year to say the least, Baroness released their self-professed masterwork, ‘Yellow & Green,’ last year, which was met with universal praise from critics. The band’s bus crash in England thankfully left none dead, but the members of Baroness sustained serious injuries after plummeting 30 feet off a roadside cliff. The harrowing experience was detailed to us in a three-part interview Loudwire conducted with frontman John Baizley. The band members continue to lick their wounds, but the Georgia rockers are preparing for a full-on return soon. “So here is another video for everyone out there!” shares guitarist Pete Adams. “This was filmed while we were on tour with Meshuggah in the Spring of 2012. Hollywood Undead’s third release, ‘ Notes From the Underground ,’ landed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week, while Black Veil Brides enjoyed their first-ever Top 10 entry with ’ Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones ,’ which arrived at No. 7. Hollywood Undead moved 53,000 copies in their debut week, finishing behind the 73,000 sold by this week’s chart champ, contemporary Christian artist Chris Tomlin. However, ‘Notes From the Underground’ gives the band their highest debut yet in their career, as their last album, ‘American Tragedy,’ arrived at No. 4 back in 2011. As for Black Veil Brides, ‘Wretched and Divine’ sold 42,000 copies in its opening week. The group also shot to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Top Album Chart and the iTunes Rock Chart. To show how the band’s fan base has grown, ‘Wretched and Divine’ nearly doubled in first week sales what the group did on their 2011 release, ‘Set the World on Fire.’ Black Veil Brides are currently on the ‘Church of the Wild Ones World Tour,’ with dates booked through a March 8 finale in San Francisco. Liz Ramanand, Loudwire No doubt Machine Head have had massive amounts of success with their 2011 album ‘Locust,’ but now they are starting to plot out their next disc. On Machine Head’s official site , frontman Robb Flynn connects with his fans through his entries called ‘The General Journals: Diary of a Frontman…and other Ramblings” and in his latest journal entry, titled ‘Where Do We Go Now…?,’ Flynn mentions plans for the band to write new material “this week or next.” Even though the frontman doesn’t give any specifics, he does hint that the new songs may not be the long anthems we heard on ‘Locust.’ “No one has really sat down and discussed where we’d like to go in depth, but we have talked about shorter songs (LOL). The last Ten Ton Hammer show we did in London really got us thinking about cool, short songs.” He goes on to talk about some material he has received from guitarists Phill Demmel and drummer Dave McClain. “Phil has told me he has some riffs, McClain e-mailed some cool riffs, I have some pretty awesome riffs tuned down to F that I’m stoked on… so, who knows where it’s all going yet, but it’s definitely starting to bubble. Can’t really tell where it’s all gonna end up, you can’t really plan that out, but that’s some of what we’ve been bouncing around.” Flynn went on to talk about Machine Head becoming free agents as they wrapped up their recording contract with their long time label Roadrunner Records . “It’s an exciting time for us right now, the world is our oyster and we can dictate a lot of fair terms in exchange for our art. YouTube Tremonti left fans contemplating what was to come with a teaser for the ‘Wish You Well’ video earlier this week and now that the clip has arrived, it is every bit as spooky as you would expect. The video alternates between Tremonti and his band jamming their latest single and a young boy rocking out on his guitar from a rooftop. How the boy got there is what makes the clip interesting, as the video starts with a camera monitoring the boy playing guitar in a near abandoned room. After a few moments a hulking trench-coated man knocks on the door and leads the stunned youth up the stairs to the rooftop. After whispering something to the boy, then gesturing that he play to his surroundings, the man steps away and lets the boy jam. The rest of the clip finds interspersed, quick-cutting images of the man traveling from house to house and his journey to finding the young boy. The end of the video starts almost as it began with the man arriving at the boy’s door and knocking, though this time we see the apartment number 12. Could this be a clue to something bigger? Tremonti did tease a code in his trailer for the new video, but how does the number figure into the coordinates? It remains to be seen, but a press release on the video stated that the lead up to the clip was just a small part of a future design that the guitarist and his band have in store for their fan base.
