Trent Reznor’s How to Destroy Angels Unveil Video for ‘Keep It Together’

Columbia How to Destroy Angels is an experimental musical project featuring Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor , frequent NIN collaborator Atticus Ross, Nine Inch Nails’ longtime graphic designer Rob Sheridan, and Mariqueen Maandig, the incredibly beautiful  (and talented) wife of Trent Reznor. The musical coalition has just released a music video for ‘Keep It Together,’ which showcases the band performing the song in the studio. How to Destroy Angels released their debut self-titled EP in 2010, with the group’s second EP, ‘An Omen EP,’ set for release on Nov. 13. ‘Keep it Together’ boasts droning electronic music filled with strategically placed nuances with tranquil vocal performances by both Reznor and Maandig, hitting a similar nerve struck by the duo of Maynard James Keenan and Carina Round within the music of Puscifer . With Reznor having taken a more independent approach to his musical career as of late, fans were surprised to learn that ‘An Omen EP’ was to be released via Columbia Records. “We’ve really spent a long time thinking about things and it makes sense for a lot of reasons, including a chance to work with our old friend Mark Williams,” explains Reznor. “There’s a much more granular and rambling answer I could give (and likely will in an interview someplace), but it really comes down to us experimenting and trying new things to see what best serves our needs. Complete independent releasing has its great points but also comes with shortcomings.” Check out the haunting new video for ‘Keep It Together’ by How to Destroy Angels. Anthrax’s Scott Ian Gets His ‘Head’ Split in Two By a Chainsaw

Fangoria Anthrax guitarist and horror aficionado Scott Ian recently had his head split in two by a chainsaw … tough break, dude. Fortunately for Ian, it was a stunt head, and luckily for us, a camera crew was there to film the entire scene from beginning to bloody end. As a maniacal fan of all things horror, Ian was able to live out one of his wildest dreams thanks to the people at Fangoria . The third season of ‘The Walking Dead,’ which Ian once made a cameo in, recently premiered with many zombie-philes finally able to get their fix of undead kills. The premiere episode seemed to pack more of a punch due to visibly less digital carnage, with various members of the living-impaired getting their faces beaten in by blunt objects. In a sense of perfect timing, it’s only right that Scott Ian not only follows suit, but tops it completely. Ian states in the video below that one of his lifelong dreams was to have a cast made of his head. The fine people at Fangoria made Ian’s dream come true, as they coated his chrome-dome with alginate, which served as the foundation for creating an incredibly lifelike model of Ian. Unfortunately, Ian didn’t live long enough to see the mold, as he was quickly chainsawed by an overalls-wearing hillbilly. In all seriousness, it’s ridiculous how lifelike the skull-splitting looks, with copious amounts of blood jetting from Ian’s head cast as the chainsaw does its work. Check out the horror-tastic process of creating a human head from scratch along with the gory playoff. Watch Scott Ian Get His Head Sawn in Half

Sister Sin Unleash Video for ‘End of the Line’

Victory Records Swedish metal outfit Sister Sin have unleashed a gritty new video for the new single, ‘End of the Line,’ off of their upcoming album ‘Now and Forever.’ In our exclusive interview with frontwoman Liv Jagrell, she told us all about the new track, saying, “It’s a really good first single, I think, because the whole album is in that style. It shows a different side of Sister Sin because we actually have some keyboards in this song and on some of the other songs, too, and we worked both on the dynamics and on the melodies in a [different] way than the previous album.” Jagrell adds, “On this album and on that song we thought a little bit out of the box and experimented and tried to go out of what our comfort zone is. I think it turned out really good, I’m happy with the album and that song.” The hard hitting video was filmed at an old nuclear reactor testing facility in Stockholm, Sweden, and it intertwines scenes of the band rocking out with narrative shots of Jagrell being held in an institutional room. The personal trainer by day and hard-rocking vocalist by night also shows off some of her strength as she gets sweaty, effortlessly doing some sit-ups and pull-ups in the clip. As far as the lyrics of the Sister Sin tune goes, the songstress states, “It’s about the kinds of scams, political and religious scams and people everywhere trying to tell us the world is going to end but we really just want to try to live today and not to live for tomorrow or for things that might happen. It’s satirical a little bit towards all of those people trying to say what we should do and not do.” Sister Sin’s new album ‘Now and Forever’ arrives on Oct. 22, and can be pre-ordered here in various packages.
