Anthrax Film ‘What’s In My Bag’ Segment at Amoeba Music Record Store

Megaforce Amoeba Music is one of the most celebrated chain of record stores in the world. Based in California, the shops can carry around 100,000 CDs, vinyl albums and more. With such a collection among Amoeba’s Berkeley, San Francisco and Los Angeles stores, choosing just a few items to buy is a brain-scrambling task, but the members of Anthrax jumped at the challenge for a segment called ‘What’s in My Bag?’ First up was guitarist Scott Ian , who passed over music entirely with his findings. Ian suggested the animated series ‘Batman: Year One,’ the Patton Oswalt comedy album ‘Finest Hour’ and some old school entertainment from ‘The Dean Martin Variety Show.’ Also choosing Dean Martin in his bag, bassist Frank Bello grabbed himself a copy of he seventh season of ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ along with U2′s ’360 Degrees’ live DVD. Don’t worry, the choices from the remaining Anthrax members delve more into rock ‘n’ roll, as drummer Charlie Benante pulled out three Queen albums along with the Nirvana classic ‘Nevermind’ on vinyl. Among others, guitarist Rob Caggiano walked away with albums from Rob Crow and Peter Gabriel, along with the Pink Floyd offering, ‘Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81.’ Finally, vocalist Joey Belladonna picked some gems from guitarists Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson, before unveiling his choice of Whitesnake’s ‘Live at Donington 1990′ album, which features guitar god Steve Vai. Man Attempts to Sell Slash’s Drivers License for $50,000 on ‘Pawn Stars’

The History Channel Want to town a piece of Guns N’ Roses history? All you’ve got to do is track down this dude who has Slash ‘s driver’s license. Yep, some guy has Slash’s driver’s license, and the man claims it was given to him by a friend of his, whose girlfriend had been a longtime bartender at a joint where the classic Guns lineup used to go get sloshed. Featured on an episode of the History Channel reality show ‘Pawn Stars,’ a man named Travis entered Las Vegas’ ‘Gold & Silver Pawn Shop’ in search for some big bucks in exchange for Slash’s license. When asked exactly how he came to possess the driver’s license of Saul ‘Slash’ Hudson, Travis has quite a story to tell. “A good buddy of mine actually had it years ago,” begins Travis. “He got it from his girlfriend, who was a bartender, and she ended up being there serving these guys all long long. And the whole group were trying to get her to flash for ‘em. So she did, she flashed one, and he threw it on the bar. I took it when I was about 18 and used it for my fake ID until I was 21.” So how much is Slash’s legitimate driver’s license worth? According to Travis, the rare item is worth $50,000 … but the man’s projection was shot down by shop employee Austin ‘Chumlee’ Russell and the store’s owner Rick Harrison, who only offered Travis $1,000 for the license. “If [Slash’s] driver license was worth 50 grand, I guarantee you he would be losing his license once a month and showing up at DMV, ‘Ah, sorry, guys, I lost it again,’” Harrison remarks. “‘Cause he would be selling that many.” Travis refused to accept any less than $15,000 for the license, so no deal was made on the show. Singer Chris Brown Dons Jacket With Logos of Municipal Waste, Cro-Mags + More

Brendon Thorne, Getty Images / Nuclear Blast This week in irritating poser news (we assume), R&B singer  Chris Brown was recently spotted in a leather jacket covered in the logos of legendary punk and crossover thrash acts. Brown, who once made headlines for physically abusing then-girlfiend Rihanna, spent a night on the town adorned with both blue and zebra-striped patches, along with the logos of Municipal Waste , Suicidal Tendencies , Cro-Mags , Corrosion of Conformity , D.R.I., The Exploited and more. The world of someone like Chris Brown is deeply rooted in fashion, so apparently the sarcastic adoption of underground passion is in this winter. Obviously we can’t prove it, but it seems pretty safe to assume that Chris Brown has never listened to any of these pulverizing, aggressive, circle pit-starting acts. Predictably, fans who have found genuine purpose and solace within the underground scene aren’t pleased with Brown’s jacket, with a sentiment of bastardization shared between proud supporters of their favorite bands. Municipal Waste tweeted a reaction to their inclusion on Chris Brown’s jacket: For the record. Chris Brown can sport our shit all he wants. We still think he is a fucking moron. — MUNICIPAL WASTE (@MUNICIPALWASTE) November 18, 2012 There’s always the chance that Brown is an out-of-the-closet metalhead, but we doubt that. The Sword Unveil Cosmic Hallucination Video for ‘The Veil of Isis’

Razor & Tie Groove metal masters the  Sword have just released one of the most mesmerizing music videos of the year. In a refreshing turn to the creative, the Sword have unleashed a story within the video for ‘The Veil of Isis’ that will leave you hitting the replay button over and over again. With the release of the Sword’s fourth studio album, ‘Apocryphon,’ the band has achieved the highest chart position in their act’s history, along with collecting a new mass of fans from diverse rock and metal sub-genres. ‘Apocryphon’ showcases beefy groove riffs that display the influence of bands such as Black Sabbath and stoner doom pioneers Sleep. To delve deeper into the sonic realm of ‘Apocryphon,’ check out our recent review of the record. The video for ‘The Veil of Isis’ follows a female protagonist who is stalked and pawed at by shady street-people before meeting a mysterious and run-down wizard on those same streets. The woman is given some sort of black stone by the man, which transports her to an alternate universe either physically or mentally. Could it be a representation of the drug addict / drug dealer relationship? Or does the video tell a tale of a woman with true and mystifying powers? The visuals in this video are incredible, acting as somewhat of an extension of the incredible cover art for ‘Apocryphon.’ The Sword offers a tripped out, captivating and visually brilliant music video, which is absolutely a must-see. Check out The Sword’s new vid for ‘The Veil of Isis’ for an unforgettable trip.
