Korn’s Jonathan Davis Receives U.S. Flag Flown in Afghanistan From Air Force Supervisor

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Korn frontman Jonathan Davis is an avid supporter of the U.S. military, as evidenced with his continued USO meet-and-greets and performances for U.S. servicemen and women and his participation in the recent ‘ Wounded Warriors ‘ short film. The singer’s support continued during a special meeting set up at the ShipRocked event in late November. United States Air Force Shift Supervisor Michael Bowser attended the cruise performance, where he was finally able to meet his hard rock hero and present him with a flag flown over an Afghanistan base on Sept. 11, 2012. Video footage of the presentation may be seen below. Bowser said he also collected flags for Five Finger Death Punch and Sevendust , who were also among his favorite bands, to present to them, as well. He told Davis, “Hopefully this can give back to you guys what you’ve given to me, because if it wasn’t for rock music I wouldn’t get through deployment.” A moved Davis responded, “I know lots of people and I know the s— you all are going through. This is amazing. This will definitely be displayed at our studio.” Just last fall, Davis was presented with the uniform of Marine Lance Cpl. William H. ‘Billy’ Crouse IV by his brother Ryan Rothman. Crouse was killed during a bombing in Afghanistan. It’s expected that Bowser’s flag will be displayed alongside Crouse’s uniform and other gifts that band has received from the military over the years. Watch ‘Wounded Warriors’ Film Starring Korn’s Jonathan Davis

YouTube Korn fans now have a chance to see singer Jonathan Davis in a different environment, as the rocker’s recent short film, ‘ Wounded Warriors ,’ is streaming online. The 17-minute film follows Davis as he tours Germany’s Ramstein Air Base. The movie, directed by Sebastien Paquet, finds Davis experiencing several of the tasks that soldiers go through on a daily basis. The singer says, “I’m just in shock. This film is not about me. It is about all the troops and what they sacrifice to keep our life going. I am truly grateful for every single one of them.” During his time at the base, Davis gets a tour of the C130J Hercules Aircraft from airmen of the 37th Airlift Squadron and an explosives demonstration from the 886th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordinance Disposal Flight. In addition, Davis spent part of the trip visiting with soldiers at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and talking with them about their sacrifices. “Reality’s a bitch,” says Davis in the film. “You’re watching the news and you’re seeing everything that’s going on and It doesn’t really hit you until you actually get there and see the actual faces and the actual equipment and you see what’s going on. I really do think that people should go meet these guys and see what goes on. [They’d] be a little bit more appreciative of what they have.” The film made its debut Nov. 10 at the GI Film Festival in Hollywood and won the “Audience Choice Award.” It will make its television debut on the Pentagon Channel as part of the GI Festival next May. Korn’s Jonathan Davis Bows Out of ‘Twins of Evil’ Tour Due to Exhaustion

Angela Weiss, Getty Images Korn ‘s Jonathan Davis  will not be joining the Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson -led ‘ Twins of Evil ‘ tour after all, as exhaustion has taken its toll on the singer. The vocalist has kept a busy schedule in 2012, not only supporting Korn’s ‘The Path of Totality’ album on tour, but also exploring his budding electronic music career under the stage name ‘JDevil.’ The rocker has been doing remixes for other artists like his ‘Twins of Evil’ tourmate Rob Zombie and taking the opportunity to do DJ sets here and there. But apparently the full schedule of 2012 has caught up with him as he informed fans of his decision to back out of the tour via a Facebook posting . It read: Hey Guys- we wanted to let you know right away that JDevil will no longer be able to join Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson on their co-headlining Twins Of Evil Tour this October. Due to exhaustion from his recent eight week overseas tour with KORN, Jonathan’s doctors have ordered him to refrain from any travel and performing for the next few weeks while he recuperates. We got this from management: “Jonathan is really bummed right now and regrets having to disappoint anyone, especially his fans and his good friends Marilyn Manson and Rob.” We’ll keep you updated here, everyone expects he’ll be back on track soon. The singer also tweeted to fans, “I’m sorry guys. My head and my body are really f—ed up. Back on meds trying to get better. Dr. said no way I could perform. F—! I’m sorry. I really love you guys. I’m so depressed.” Davis announced his participation in the ‘Twins of Evil’ Tour at the end of July, revealing that it would allow him to pursue his EDM side project. At the time of the announcement, the vocalist stated , “I like to think of JDevil as the ‘anti-christ’ of EDM. To play along side Zombie and Manson is going to be a f—ing sinister night all around, and an unbelievable experience. I can’t wait.” Even without Davis, the pairing of Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson is a formidable bill. The ‘Twins of Evil’ tour launches Sept. 28 in Phoenix.
