Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Bullet for My Valentine premiered a new song ‘Temper Temper’ yesterday (Oct. 22) on BBC Radio 1, and now have made the audio of the track available on YouTube (listen below). ‘Temper Temper’ is from Bullet for My Valentine’s upcoming fourth studio album. Produced by Don Gilmore ( Linkin Park , Pearl Jam ), the album is due in early 2013. The title and exact release date have not yet been revealed. Their previous effort ‘Fever’ (2010) cracked the Top 5 in countries all over the world, including the U.S. (No. 3), U.K. (No. 5) and Japan (No. 1). The song is certainly catchy, especially the sing-song chorus. ‘Temper Temper’ has plenty of melody and is destined for rock radio airplay. The initial reaction from fans, however, is mixed at best if you gauge the comments on the band’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Earlier this year, frontman Matt Tuck revealed they had been working on new music in Thailand. He says those that have heard their new music say it sounds like “a very confident, focused rock band.” In addition to his work with BFMV, Tuck has been busy with AxeWound . The band, which also includes Cancer Bats vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Jason Bowld of Pitchshifter, ex-Rise to Remain bassist Joe Coput and Glamour of the Kill guitarist Mike Kingswood, recently released their debut album ‘ Vultures .’ Bullet for My Valentine performed at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, and are set to play Soundwave Festival in Australia in 2013. They also are expected to announce new UK tour dates soon. Listen to Bullet For My Valentine’s ‘Temper Temper’
Tooth & Nail Love and Death , the band led by former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch , are set to drop their new album ‘Between Here & Lost’ on Nov. 19, and Loudwire is proud to bring you the exclusive premiere of the new song ‘The Abandoning.’ With the new track, it’s clear that Welch and his new crew can still deliver the aggressiveness and hard-hitting vibe that he had in Korn and pack the song with an emotional punch. With lyrics like, “ Why do I hurt myself / Why can’t I escape this hell / I am always blaming, always chasing broken dreams / I keep screaming out but no one ever hears me ,” it’s clear that the story is coming from someone dealing with inner turmoil. Head says of the track, “I like ‘The Abandoning’ because the chorus goes somewhere you wouldn’t think it would go. It’s really dark and then it opens up very melodic.” As you can tell by listening, Welch has found a musical home after going it solo following his exit from Korn. The current lineup that includes guitarist J.R. Bareis, bassist Michael Valentine, and drummer Dan Johnson really helped the guitarist see his vision to its full fruition while adding their own stamp to the music. Welch also credits producer Jasen Rauch, who also plays in the band RED, for his input into the new music. “One of the biggest changes on this album is that we connected with a great producer,” states Welch. “With my first solo album, I wanted to oversee everything myself to see if I could do this type of thing. I think some of it was experimenting and some of it was just pride, but a band really needs someone who can produce an album to make the material the best it can be. That’s what producers are there for, so that was the biggest thing, just bringing Jasen into the fold.” You can find ‘The Abandoning’ on the ‘Between Here & Lost’ album, which arrives Nov. 19. Pre-order the CD on its own or packaged in a T-shirt bundle here . Both versions come with an instant download of ‘The Abandoning.’ Listen to Love and Death’s ‘The Abandoning’ ? DGC It’s been over two decades since Nirvana unleashed their game-changing magnum opus ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit.’ The title remains synonymous with greatness, as well as being one of the most recognizable phrases in the lexicon of pop culture. Kurt Cobain famously despised the accessibility of the track, along with the bro-dudes and frat boys who would sing along at Nirvana shows. With that in mind, we’re sure that Cobain would love this move: CBS has just begun to develop a sitcom with the working title ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit.’ CBS is well-known for putting together highly successful sitcoms that adhere to the classic ‘laugh track’ and from-the-script style of comedic television. Many Nirvana fans would agree that Kurt Cobain wouldn’t have wanted CBS to use his song title to capitalize on the track’s phenomenal success, but Dave Goetsch, a writer from CBS’s ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ is developing a show with a current title based on the classic tune. Goetsch also hones credits from the shows ‘Grounded for Life’ and ’3rd Rock From the Sun.’ “The multicamera comedy revolves around an 18-year-old budding entrepreneur,” describes the Hollywood Reporter , “who forgoes Harvard and instead opts to launch a multibillion-dollar Internet company from his garage with the assistance of his sister, best friend and his 1990s indie-rock parents.” We’ll see if the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ working title sticks. If it does, it might ruffle a few feathers in the Nirvana camp and among the band’s fans. Stay tuned for more on CBS’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ as the news breaks.
