Jo Hale, Getty Images / Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Slash has been making his way around the world in support of his ‘ Apocalyptic Love ‘ album, and during a recent visit to the Czech Republic he shared his thoughts on the Randy Blythe manslaughter trial and his perception of the legal system from the outside. The guitar great told the Czech Republic’s Be in TV, “I know as much as I’ve been told from everybody I know in that camp. It’s a strange unique situation. I think that when he first came over here and put up his bail and they never let him out and they kept paying and they kept paying and paying and paying and they never let him out, I said, ‘What the f— is going on there.’ I mean, that’s a whole different type of law to me, where it’s just different. And so finally they let him out and now it’s actually going to trial.” The guitarist added, “I really don’t think he, in any way, shape or form, is guilty. So they’re gonna let this thing run its course I suppose. And because the judicial system here is so different that he was able to stay in jail here so long, who knows what the verdict is gonna end up being?! It’s hard to say.” The Lamb of God frontman recently returned home after some of the witnesses in the case failed to appear, leading to a delay . Slash concludes, “It’s a very long and, unfortunately, it’s a very expensive process. It’s like f—, really?!” During his interview, Slash also addressed his progress toward a follow-up to the ‘Apocalyptic Love’ album and his work on the Slasher Films horror flick ‘Nothing Left to Fear.’ Take a listen to Be in TV’s entire interview with Slash, including the comments on Blythe (at 5:02 into the clip), below. John Corabi Rants on Broken Relationships With Former Motley Crue Bandmates
Ethan Miller, Getty Images One-time Motley Crue singer John Corabi served the band from 1992-1996, but there are apparently still some hard feelings regarding the way Corabi was treated during his stint with the band. Additionally, Corabi expressed his disappointment with the lack of communication he’s had with the members of Crue since his departure, claiming that he “hasn’t seen them more than five times in the last 15 years.” In a recent interview with The Great Southern Brainfart (best website name ever?), Corabi offered a reaction to the way that original and current Crue vocalist Vince Neil portrayed Corabi’s departure from the act. “Vince Neil said in his book that it was my idea to leave Motley Crue,” begins Corabi. “Just to set the record straight, Vince is only partially right about that. I just told the guys that I was so tired hearing about ‘Vince would do it this way…’ I just told them, ‘I’m so f—ing sick and tired of hearing about what Vince would do from you and your management.’ I was just sick of the guys comparing me to the guy that you told me for the last five years to not be.” Corabi continues, “If you get hired for a job and your boss keeps talking about what great job the other guy did or compares you to the other guy, at some point, you just say, ‘F— you. Go back to that person then.’ I told them that if they wanted Vince and Vince was the f—ing answer, maybe they should call him back and work shit out. If not, we should all just shut the f— up and try and make this work.” Corabi went on to describe his relationship, or lack of, with Crue since he left in 1996. “I hung out with those guys every day for five years and I haven’t seen them more than five times in the last 15 years,” Corabi says. “That bothered me more than anything. I thought those guys were my friends and that’s what I miss more than anything. I was more bummed out over the loss of our brotherhood than anything. Those guys are just the kind of people that will embrace you when you’re in their circle. They’ve had some many buzzards and vultures picking at their bones for the last 25 years that when they look down and they see me calling them, I bet they immediately think, ‘What does he want?’” What do you think? Is Corabi just bitter that he’s no longer in the band, or does he have a valid gripe? Check out the full interview with John Corabi at The Great Southern Brainfart . Former Vince Neil Bassist Alan Vine Warns of Legal Action Over IRS Woes
Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com / Facebook: Alan Vine Alan Vine, a former bassist and personal assistant for Motley Crue ‘s Vince Neil , is threatening legal action against his former employer if he doesn’t help resolve his current tax issues. Vine, who was a member of Neil’s band in the early 2000s, claims that the singer’s manager wrongly reported his salary, thus leading the IRS to look into his financial background, and he’s asking for some help in clearing things up. Vine spells out his troubles in an open letter to Metal Sludge , claiming that his work with Neil close to a decade ago has landed him in some hot water. Vine says he’s reached out to Neil on several occasions, but has been blown off each time and is not even sure if the singer is aware. However, despite his reluctance to take legal action, it’s now come to a point where something must be done and he’s taking his issues public in hopes that Neil will respond before legal action must be pursued. In his letter, he states: I was Vince’s Bass player and personal assistant at one time. I have been trying to straighten out a tax issue with him for several years now to no avail. I didn’t want to resort to attorney to sue Tenvin Inc., but after several blow offs I CAN’T STAND IT ANY MORE!!! Vince’s scumbag business manager Burt Stein reported me to the IRS (1099) for making a boatload of $$$$ which I was never paid. I didn’t want to sue him, but now he leaves me no choice. He is now taking $$$ away from my two boys that I raise by myself. I am totally disgusted on how a guy like Vince, who could fix this with a simple phone call and avoid the court system, can’t be bothered. I am a stand up guy who never did Vince wrong EVER!!!! I could of sold him out many times over but NEVER DID!!!! The IRS has been holding my tax returns for 7 years now on my Child Tax Credit for Hollywood who is now 7 and also the tax credit for my youngest son Indrid Wolfgang for 4 years as well… DO THE MATH ON THAT!!!!! I grew up listening to Motley Crue and couldn’t believe I was working for one of my heroes and it has come to this. I am sure Vince is completely in the dark about this and has no Idea. I have tried to approach Vince about this SEVERAL times and was met with the same blow off. He told me to tell people when I worked for him. Tonight was the last straw. I contacted Dana Strum via email to get on the list for tonight show in Coconut Creek, Fla. because being a single dad I can’t afford tickets. Dana responded and was gracious enough to leave 2 tickets and 2 after show passes. Thanks Dana. The show was good. You and Zoltan and Blando are rock solid … thanks … After the show was over, I went with the after show passes to the waiting area and Vince’s Guy came and said, ‘Sorry folks band left.’ I got pissed and said, ‘Sure dude, I used to do you job.’ I pulled out my old laminate and said tell Vince he owes me $ and stop bull sh—ing these fans and just say what’s true, like sorry Vince can’t be bothered, have a nice day. Then I left the venue and was driving through the parking lot by the backstage area and saw the band leaving and proceeded to yell through the gate, ‘You f–ing a–hole. I’m gonna sue you,’ and a few other vulgarities. I have mad respect for Motley Crue, Sixx, Tommy, Mick, and Vince, too. It just sucks that my kids have to suffer because of this. I bet if I had a huge set of fake t–s and was dumb as a box of rocks because of the bleached blond hair and had a pair of hotdog lips, I would have had a better result. ‘LIVING ON A JET MAKING LOVE TO SOMEONE ELSE’S DREAM’ … ha, what a joke. Vince, Dana has my email if you want to fix this. Otherwise I am getting a lawyer Monday. Respectfully, Alan Vine [button href=”http://loudwire.com/vince-neil-apology-gun-control-twitter-battle/” title=”Next: Vince Neil Offers Apology Over Gun Control Debate” align=”center”]
Aranda Go Behind the Scenes of Their Latest Photo Shoot
Michael Scott Slosar, Wind-Up Records Oklahoma-based rockers Aranda unleashed their latest full-length album, ‘Stop the World,’ earlier this year. After touring with bands like Theory of a Deadman and Hinder and playing major summer fests, the guys are as busy as ever after inking a deal with Wind-up Records. Now, Aranda are premiering behind-the-scenes footage from their recent photo shoot exclusively on Loudwire (watch below). Aranda feature brothers Dameon and Gabe Aranda, who have been writing and playing music together since they were young lads. The two recently released their latest single, ‘One More Lie,’ and it’s already starting to climb the Active Rock songs chart. Aranda recorded ‘Stop the World’ with Chicago-based producer Johnny K, and earlier this year, Gabe told Loudwire it was a killer experience. “First of all, the facility he’s got is pretty amazing. It’s like an old six-story building so the ambiance there is just really cool, from a creative perspective it’s something else to draw from even if it’s subconsciously,” he said. “Johnny himself, I mean his work speaks for itself, the accolades that he has. “With us it was primarily more about honing us in on something real direct, stylistically we tend to be all over the place so on this record we tried to do something a little more straight ahead rock and stick with those roots. Overall, it really benefited us to work with him.” Pick up Aranda’s ‘Stop the World’ at iTunes , and check out video of their photo shoot below: Watch Behind-the-Scenes Footage from Aranda’s Recent Photo Shoot
Beastie Boys Respond to Sampling Lawsuit
Junko Kimura, Getty Images Back in May, the day before Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch tragically passed away, a lawsuit was filed against the Beastie Boys , accusing them of illegally sampling music on 1986′s ‘License to Ill’ and 1989′s ‘Paul’s Boutique.’ The group’s lawyers responded this week, asking the suit to be dismissed. According to the Hollywood Reporter , TufAmerica claims samples of songs from the group Trouble Funk were used by the Beastie Boys on several songs. So why did the label wait so long to file the suit? Technology has advanced since the ’80s, allowing for more sophisticated analysis of where samples originated. According to the complaint, TufAmerica says the samples were “effectively concealed” to “the casual listener” and that they were discovered “[o]nly after conducting a careful audio analysis.” The Beastie Boys responded by saying that shows that their work is different than the songs they are accused of sampling, “Because Plaintiff admits that the casual observer cannot identify Plaintiff’s musical compositions and sound recordings… there can be no substantial similarity.” That’s a lot of legalese, but the bottom line in layman’s terms is the record label says the Beastie Boys used their songs without permission or payment, while the band says the samples were not recognizable, so you don’t have a claim. The judge will respond to the band’s request to dismiss the suit, although a timetable wasn’t given. The Beastie Boys’ legal team has been busy lately. The band and the estate of Yauch recently sued Monster Energy for the unauthorized use of their music in a recent promotional campaign. Linkin Park Announce Clean Energy Promotion + Rock American Music Awards
Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Linkin Park are definitely in the giving spirit year-round, but the rockers are doing something special this holiday season by proclaiming what’s called #GivingTuesday. The day-long event, held Nov. 27, finds the band’s charitable arm, Music for Relief, supporting the work of the United Nations in giving the unique gift of clean energy solutions to people who have no access to electricity and rallying fans to donate. The idea is that fans can give a solar light, solar power for hospitals and health clinics, or Power the World’s latest clean energy tool — the Soccket — which is a soccer ball that is also a portable generator (it’s available at powertheworld.org ). You can also make a donation on behalf of a loved one, and they’ll get an e-card in return, while someone without electricity receives the safe, clean energy they need to improve their quality of life. Linkin Park have been active in supporting UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Sustainable Energy for All initiative, and urge their fans to take part in the #GivingTuesday by donating at Powertheworld.org . In other Linkin Park news, the group not only performed ‘Burn It Down,’ but also walked away with a trophy for Favorite Alternative Rock Artist at the American Music Awards Sunday night. (Nov. 18). The band has enjoyed a stellar year buoyed by the success of their ‘Living Things’ album.
