AOL Buckcherry have been singing about excess with their new single, ‘Gluttony,’ and now they’re sharing a visual representation of the sin with their latest music video. The band recently shot the clip at a church in North Hollywood, Calif., with actor-turned-director Billy Jayne overseeing the shoot. The video finds Josh Todd and the band leading the congregation toward temptation. Guitarist Keith Nelson says of Jayne’s contribution, “It was really refreshing to see his take on what we’re doing because he totally gets the music, he’s connecting with it, and he’s taking it to a different place than a guy who does videos for a living. We got a guy who actually makes movies and TV shows to put his spin on it and it’s been really positive.” Todd recently told Loudwire about the track, “It’s just about trying to control your behavior. They always say that you have to do everything in moderation and that’s never been my experience. One is okay, two is better, three is fantastic and four is the best. I want to consume everything. I want to go big or go home. I’m either on 11 or I’m asleep.” The vocalist also tells Noisecreep , who premiered the clip, “Because the record is called ‘ Confessions ,’ we filmed the video in a church. We got Jesus down here — which is killer — and we got a lot of our fans in it, which is amazing. They came out on their own time and have really put a lot of sweat equity, so thank you to them.” In the video itself, the full congregation seem to be giving in to excess, while one member remains to fight temptation, only to have both Todd and Jesus bending his ear throughout the clip. The ‘Confessions’ album is due in stores Feb. 19, but fans may pre-order the disc right here . Buckcherry have tour dates booked with Kid Rock that were scheduled through early March, but a second leg has just been added, with the trek now extended into April. Oblivion In December 2012, All Shall Perish founding member and guitarist Ben Orum left the group after a decade of service. The decision couldn’t have been an easy one for Orum, but the accomplished axe-man chose to leave in order to spend more time with his family. Luckily, Orum is far from finished when it comes to making music, having joined Californian metal act Oblivion . The band recently self-released their debut full-length, ‘Called to Rise,’ and you can hear the entire album right here on Loudwire. Last month we helped unleash Oblivion’s video for ‘Reclamation’ as an exclusive premiere , and now we’ve got the full album streaming for all you metalheads out there. Oblivion vocalist Nick Vasallo gave us an exclusive quote on what he and the other Oblivion musicians plan to accomplish with the project: As a band, OBLIVION doesn’t want to just fit into the typical death metal category. Sure, we come from primarily a death metal background and we fulfill all the stylistic criteria associated with it. But we want our music to have broad conceptions and extreme depth. I believe that musical eclecticism is the future of music and what is needed to prevent deadlock in our art. I get bored quite easily with a single style so on this album you’ll hear a lot of different types of extreme music: technical death metal, black metal, post-metal, progressive metal, doom, and even modern classical music. The trick is to balance all of these and unify them in a single voice. I urge any fan of extreme music to give this album a chance and listen to the whole thing. Uninterrupted and fully attentive…there’s a lot to pick out. Check out the music player below to hear Oblivion’s ‘Called to Rise’ in full. Photo by Dave Ma As excitement for Alice in Chains ‘ 2013 as-yet-untitled album continues to build, fans have been gifted with more good news from the band. Alice in Chains have just announced a month-long U.S. tour beginning in Miami Beach, Fla., on April 25. Alice in Chains haven’t ventured on a comprehensive tour for well over two years, having last performed a lengthy string of dates in 2010 to support their most recent album, ‘Black Gives Way to Blue.’ The legendary grunge rock band recently unveiled a music video for the new track ‘Hollow,’ which was put together by acclaimed director Roboshobo ( Metallica , Mastodon , Green Day ). Accompanying the hypnotic and tripped out song, the video for ‘Hollow’ adds a visual dimension to the song’s protagonist losing himself in an empty repetition of daily tasks until his last thread stitched into reality finally snaps away. Check out Alice in Chains’ upcoming tour dates below and stay tuned for more news on the band’s 2013 album as further information is revealed. Adam Bettcher, Getty Images Vocalist David Draiman has been hard at work with his new project Device since the indefinite hiatus of Disturbed was announced in late 2011. After much anticipation and ballpark estimates as to when the first Device album would be unleashed, we can now confirm that the band’s debut album will be self-titled and see the light of day on April 9 via Warner Bros Records. On Friday, we reported that Draiman had unveiled an all-star lineup of guest musicians on the album, as well as revealing that Evanescence drummer Will Hunt and Dope / Eve to Adam guitarist Virus will join Draiman on Device’s three-man touring lineup. Meanwhile, ex- Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo, who co-wrote and recorded Device’s debut album with David Draiman, will not be joining the outfit on the road. In a press release, Draiman describes the album as follows, “It’s not metal”, Draiman says. “It’s influenced by early Industrial rock (i.e., Nine Inch Nails/Ministry) and has a dark electronic vibe. At the same time, these are big, anthemic, and intensely melodic songs. It’s futuristic rock.” In a new video interview with Artisan News Service , David Draiman speaks about how Device came together. “I was first approached by Geno Lenardo, who was working on a number of tracks for the ‘Underworld’ soundtrack for the last ‘Underworld’ film that came out … and he asked me if I would be interested in being a part of one of the tracks and I asked him to send me the music that he had in mind and I was able to make a really compelling and powerful song … [I] found that working with him as a songwriting partner was very easy and fluid. He’s a very strong songwriter in his own right.” Device’s first single, ‘Vilify,’ is set to hit radio on Feb. 19. The band just filmed a video for the song and have described it as “amazing / groundbreaking.’ Draiman and Lenardo were able to recruit an army of legendary musicians as contributors for the first Device album, including Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler , Deep Purple singer-bassist Glenn Hughes , Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows , System of a Down singer Serj Tankian , Rage Against the Machine guitar great Tom Morello and Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale . Prepare yourself for Device’s self-titled debut album, which will drop on April 9, and stay tuned for the unveiling of the single ‘Vilify,’ which will see a release this February.
