To take you further into the realm of Maynard James Keenan and his Puscifer bandmates, we’ve got an exclusive video of the musical collective warming up for what is sure to be a spotlit year for the band’s career. Tool and A Perfect Circle vocalist Maynard James Keenan began Puscifer as an additional sonic alter-ego in 2003, with Keenan acting as the group’s sole permanent member. A decade after the idea was conceived, Puscifer are beginning to rise up not just as an obscure side project, but as a musical force comparable to both Tool and A Perfect Circle in terms of quality. Since the release of the 2011 full-length ‘Conditions of My Parole,’ Puscifer seem to have cemented a more secure lineup consisting of singer Carina Round , A Perfect Circle members Matt McJunkins and Jeff Friedl and guitarist Mat Mitchell among others. The band embarked on a theatrical U.S. tour last summer, and in this behind-the-scenes video, we witness Maynard and his band of curmudgeons in the middle of practice. One of the most interesting parts of the video is the band’s use of their framed television monitors, which magnify the heads of both Keenan and Round to mammoth proportions. Twitter: Pearl Jam Pearl Jam ‘s Eddie Vedder has been a lifelong Cubs fan, and he’ll get to experience Wrigley Field as a performer yet again when his band headlines a show at the historic ballpark July 19. Even though this is Pearl Jam’s first time playing at Wrigley, it’s not Vedder’s first dealings with the “friendly confines.” He’s been asked to throw out the first pitch at Cubs games in the past and just last year he joined Bruce Springsteen onstage when “The Boss” brought his E Street Band to the baseball park. The group began teasing the appearance on Twitter with a photo that showed a stage setup on Wrigley Field with the hashtag @StayTuned. Meanwhile the Cubs Twitter account showed a photo of a Cubs jersey with the number “10″ on it, followed by the same stage setup photo and a lyric ‘All the Way,’ a song Vedder penned about the team. In addition to the Wrigley Field date, Pearl Jam have announced a July 16 show at London, Ontario’s Budweiser Gardens. Both the Chicago and Ontario dates are billed as “An Evening With Pearl Jam,” with no opening act expected to play. While it is not known if the shows signify the band being any closer to finishing the follow-up to 2009′s ‘Backspacer’ album, rumors have begun to circulate about the dates being part of a full Pearl Jam tour. The trek launches April 12 in Denver at the Fillmore and continues through a May 22 finale at Milwaukee’s Eagles Ballroom. Bullet for My Valentine will be joined on the run by the previously revealed Halestorm and Young Guns , as well as newly announced upstarts Stars in Stereo. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday (Jan. 25). Bullet for My Valentine’s Matt Tuck says, “We’re super stoked to be touring America again. We’re going to be bringing the big hits and big guns. Having torn through the 2012 Mayhem Festival, headlined an unforgettable tour with Testament + Death Angel , earned a 2013 Grammy nomination and just finished tracking their ‘Anthems’ covers EP, Caggiano suddenly left the band, and guitarist Scott Ian has just offered some insight into Caggiano’s exit. Caggiano formally announced his departure from Anthrax on Jan. 4, revealing his desire to fixate his creativity upon producing. “The fact that Anthrax is at the top of their game right now and totally ‘out for blood’ after all these years is a testament to this band’s longevity and conviction!” states Caggiano. “I’m truly honored to have been a part of their brilliant legacy.” Although Caggiano’s exit was sudden, Anthrax assured fans that there were no hard feelings, wishing Caggiano the best with his future projects, which includes producing the new Volbeat album. Despite the brotherly send-off, Anthrax’s statement didn’t reveal any specific details about exactly how the guitarist left. In a new interview with MTV Hive , however, Scott Ian offers an explanation: We didn’t know he was planning on leaving while we were tracking this [‘Anthems’]. He was literally finishing solos in Berlin on the last days of the tour. It wasn’t until after the tour ended and we started having conversations, and just to put it in a nutshell, he just needs to do his own thing at this point in time. We knew he had a record that he was going to be doing possibly. We had already told him, if you need to take a hiatus, that’s fine. The best thing I can say is that he’s on a mission to do his own thing at this point. And I’m certainly not going to stand in his way. As for choosing Caggiano’s temporary replacement, Jon Donais of Shadows Fall, Ian says: It was actually Rob. He had already spoken to Jon and had kind of filled him in about what his plan was. He didn’t want to leave us hanging. As much as it sucks, this whole thing has been friendly. I may think Rob has made a mistake by leaving the band, but at the same time he’s my friend and I back his decision all the way in whatever he needs to do. He feels the same about us. We all know Jon. I’ve actually worked with him before on [comedian] Brian Posehn’s record. We all know he’s a great lead guitar player. And Jon said absolutely he wanted to do it. Anthrax are set to headline the 2013 Metal Alliance Tour , performing their classic album ‘Among the Living’ in full during each stop. The vocalist spoke to Revolver about one of his favorite collaborations — a duet cover with Lzzy Hale on the Ozzy Osbourne / Lita Ford classic ‘Close My Eyes Forever’ — and shared why the Halestorm vocalist was the right woman for the track. The singer explains, “For years I’d wanted to re-do ‘Close My Eyes Forever’ by Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne. I always thought it was a fantastic idea and needed the right combination of elements and events and needed to have the right woman to play the role of Lita in this song, and Lzzy Hale, in my opinion, is the strongest, most distinctive voice, female voice, in rock today. I think that she’s just as good as it gets.” In the video interview clip, Draiman goes on to praise all of his guests and states how blessed he feels to have gotten Glenn Hughes , Geezer Butler , Tom Morello and others to contribute to Device’s debut album. Liz Ramanand, Loudwire After two-plus years of touring and a new album, there’s good news for Soundgarden fans as it looks like their reunion is one that will continue. Frontman Chris Cornell revealed the band’s status update in a new interview with Billboard . The vocalist explained, “I don’t see any reason why [we wouldn’t continue]. I think the overall attitude about keeping it going and the way we want to treat it to keep it going is really good. There’s nothing stopping us from continuing to make records and continuing to play shows, that’s for sure.” Cornell added that even though their ‘King Animal’ album is still fairly new, the band members continue coming up with new ideas. He revealed, “We had a good experience making this album and since we’ve come back together everything has been kind of that way. There hasn’t really been any of the tension, specifically surrounding the peripheral stuff. And I think that’s as simple as us making the conscious decision to not be influenced by anything other than what the four of us want to do and not putting a business version of a timeline on it. Our attitude is that we’re doing this because we love it.” Soundgarden are currently on tour , but made a detour to Washington, D.C., Monday for pair of President Obama inauguration galas . Kevin Winter / Jamie McCarthy, Getty Images Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne were recently the victims of a fire at their Beverly Hills home after forgetting to put out a candle before going to bed, but according to new sources, the ‘Prince of Darkness’ and his wife were not the only ones affected by the blaze. Pop singer Jessica Simpson was reportedly interested in buying the Osbourne’s house for $12 million, but since the fire, Simpson apparently has reconsidered. As we reported recently, early in the morning on Jan. 17, a candle within a glass vase exploded in the Osbourne’s home, causing a small fire which left Ozzy with singed hair, no eyebrows, minor burns to his face and a setback to an existing hand injury. Sharon described the fire on her TV show ‘The Talk’ the very same day it occurred, characterizing her and Ozzy’s attempt to put out the fire as something out of ‘The Three Stooges.’ In an interesting addition to the story, Jessica Simpson, who was contemplating buying the Osbourne’s home, is now having second thoughts. An unnamed source reportedly offered a myriad of quotes to RadarOnline : When Jessica and Eric heard about the fire they were as equally as disappointed as the Osbournes. They were planning on making an offer on the mansion somewhere in the region of $12 million, because they felt it was the perfect family home. Now, they’re going to have to assess the damage before committing, even though they heard it is pretty minimal. Jessica does have her sights set on the property but she is now looking elsewhere. She’s also a believer in fate and is wondering if the fire was a sign that she shouldn’t buy it and wait for something else to come on the market.
