Nickelback’s ‘Photograph’ Turned Into Instagram Song Parody

Isaac Brekken, Getty Images Nickelback ‘s ‘Photograph’ was everywhere you turned a few years back, much like the Instagram photos that you happen to see posted across just about every social networking platform you can find today. So it makes perfect sense that ‘Photograph’ and Instagram are lumped together to create a new song parody. College Humor is behind the new song and video, ‘Look at This Instagram,’ which mocks the inane objects that people attempt to photograph using the filtered option on the camera phones. While the song takes a jab at the Instagram craze, Nickelback doesn’t exactly get off the hook either. Yes the lyrics are altered to fit the message, but the vocals are where the band gets knocked a bit. It’s obvious that the male and female leads of the clip have had their vocals manipulated to achieve the Chad Kroeger -like sound. So click play and watch as College Humor takes down two notable targets in one fell swoop with the ‘Look at This Instagram’ parody video. Metallica Unveil ‘Quebec Magnetic’ Footage of ‘Master of Puppets’ Performance

YouTube: Metallica Metallica fans are a devoted bunch and you get to see their passion for the band in full effect in the newly posted video of ‘Master of Puppets’ that’s part of the upcoming ‘ Quebec Magnetic ‘ DVD. The group deliver a blistering performance musically, but James Hetfield , perhaps encouraged by the audience response, lets the crowd fill in some of the vocal parts on ‘Master of Puppets’ while he and the band let loose with their furious playing. The song is definitely a highlight of the forthcoming release. Metallica headed to Quebec City in the fall of 2009 as part of their ‘World Magnetic Tour’ and the shows were filmed for the forthcoming DVD/Blu-Ray offering, ‘Quebec Magnetic,’ which will be in stores Dec. 10. This will be the band’s first release via their new Blackened Recordings label. The group recently announced the launch of the label in coordination with the news that they had taken control of the masters of their past recordings, giving the band full access over how their music is used going forward. Part of having control means the band can offer their concert film at the reasonable price of $15.98 for either the DVD or Blu-Ray format. Fans were allowed to vote on the set list, and the home video will include 18 songs from the concert, plus an additional eight “bonus songs.” ‘Quebec Magnetic’ can be pre-ordered here . Jerry Cantrell Confirms Completion of Upcoming Alice in Chains Album

Facebook: Alice in Chains Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell has confirmed that the band recently finished recording their new album, due out in 2013. The new disc will mark the follow-up to their 2009 release ‘Black Gives Way to Blue.’ Alice in Chains started working on the new tunes back in 2011 but were sidelined when Cantrell had to undergo surgery on his shoulder. Back in the saddle, Cantrell recently spoke to Guitar World about the pressures surrounding the new disc, saying, “It’s like having to deal with the sophomore jinx for the second time in our career.” Cantrell, of course, is referring to writing and recording music with the band’s new lineup several years after the tragic passing of singer Layne Staley in 2002. The band’s current lineup features Cantrell joined by William DuVall on vocals and guitar, Mike Inez on bass and Sean Kinney on drums. For the new disc, Alice in Chains worked with producer Nick Raskulinecz whose resume includes work with the Deftones and the Foo Fighters and engineer Paul Figueroa. Cantrell talked about how the post-Staley Alice In Chains measures up, explaining, “In my opinion, that record [Black Gives Way to Blue] stood up to anything else we’ve put out in our career and this new one is right up there, as well.” Although no official release date has been confirmed yet, it has been speculated the disc may make its debut within the first few months of the new year. With Alice in Chains already confirmed as one of the top acts for the 2013 Download festival, it looks like it could be a busy year for the Seattle rockers. Green Day Streaming ‘¡Tre!’ In Its Entirety

Reprise The final installment of Green Day ‘s trilogy doesn’t hit stores for another week, but fans can get a sneak preview now. ‘¡Tré!’ is currently streaming in full at this location . The album will be released on Dec. 11. ‘¡Tré!’ was originally scheduled to be released in January of next year, but after frontman Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab , the band canceled their remaining 2012 live shows and moved the album’s release to December. Drummer Tre Cool explained, “We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned. If we couldn’t be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.” ‘ ¡Uno! ‘ was released in September and ‘ ¡Dos! ‘ followed in November. Both albums were well-received, with Loudwire reviewers bestowing four out of five stars on each. After the three albums, Green Day will release the documentary ‘ ¡Quatro! ,’ which will give viewers a behind the scenes look at the recording process of ‘¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!, and ‘¡Tre!.’ The complete documentary won’t be available until 2013, but a show with highlights from the film premiered on VH1 in November. It will be shown several more times on Palladia through Dec. 22. [button href=”http://www.iheartradio.com/iplaylist/artist/69310/” title=”Listen to Green Day – ‘¡Tré!’ ” align=”center”]
