Green Day To Play Three Warm-Up Shows Prior to South by Southwest Gig

Spencer Kaufman, Loudwire Green Day just pushed up their return to the road, adding three new dates that will serve as warm-up shows for their recently announced North American stage return at South by Southwest in Austin. Earlier this week, the band revealed that they would play a set March 15 at Austin’s Moody Theater, coinciding with two of their documentaries screening as part of South By Southwest’s film festival. Now comes word that the band wants to get their chops up to snuff by playing a few shows before performing at the music showcase. The new stops will be at Pomona’s (Calif.) Fox Theater on March 10, Tempe’s Marquee on March 11 and El Paso’s Tricky Falls on March 13. Tickets for all three dates will go on sale this Friday (March 1) at 10AM local time. They join the recently announced April 16 and 18 performances at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre and Los Angeles’ Sports Arena that recently extended the tour by a week. The South by Southwest film festival will premiere the band’s ‘Broadway Idiot’ documentary, which is primarily focused on singer Billie Joe Armstrong ‘s role in the Broadway production of the band’s ‘American Idiot’ album. Also screening at the Paramount Theatre the night of March 15 will be ‘¡Cuatro!,’ a documentary on the making of Green Day’s recently released album trilogy. The new shows are now part of the band’s North American trek, which will keep them on the road through April 18 in Los Angeles. After that, the group will trek over to Milan, Italy for the start of their European tour on May 24, with shows overseas booked through July 13 in Bilbao, Spain. Adler Announce 2013 U.S. + Japan Tour Dates

New Ocean Media Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler is set to head out on tour with his new band, Adler. After a few shows in California and Japan this March, Adler will invade the U.S. for a two-and-a-half month monster tour beginning May 16 in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Adler’s debut album, ‘Back From the Dead,’ was released in November 2012. The ban’ds lineup featuring drummer Steven Adler, vocalist Jacob Bunton, bassist Johnny Martin and guitarist Lonny Paul, who has collaborated with Steven Adler in the past with Adler’s Appetite. ‘Back From the Dead’ also features guest spots from Slash and Rob Zombie / Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5 . The two Japanese dates will be shared with fellow former Guns N’ Roses member Duff McKagan with his current act, Loaded, and for all you European fans of Adler, the band is currently finalizing additional shows slated to start in the middle of September. Within Temptation Announce 2013 Album Plans

Facebook: Within Temptation Great news for fans of Dutch symphonic rockers Within Temptation . The band has just announced that in addition to signing with a new label partner, BMG Rights, they are aiming to put out a new album in the fall. Having formed in 1996, Within Temptation have been treating fans to their signature brand of symphonic goth rock for over 15 years, with five full-length albums released within that time period. Fans of the band have shown a stunning devotion to their Scandinavian heroes, with the outfit taking home 2011 Loudwire Music Awards for Artist of the Year, Rock Album of the Year (‘The Unforgiving’) and Rock Goddess of the Year for vocalist Sharon den Adel . Within Temptation broke the good news to their fans via the band’s official website: Hi everyone, We have been, and we are still hiding in our studios since winter started. Finch Expand ‘What It Is to Burn’ 10th Anniversary Tour + Announce Support Acts

Facebook: Finch There were a lot of happy fans last fall when Finch decided to regroup to play some dates commemorating the tenth anniversary of their breakout album ‘What It Is to Burn.’ There are even more ecstatic people now that the group has decided to expand the trek outside of California to other North American and European stops this year. Adding to the excitement, the band has also revealed the support acts for a number of their upcoming dates. At present, the band will resume touring in support of their influential disc on Feb. 1 at the Glass House in Pomona, Calif. The group scheduled four dates over consecutive February weekends to give their West Coast fans every opportunity to catch their performance. Late Night Revival and Weatherbox will support on Feb. 1, with Hancox and Particles Like Planets opening on Feb. 2. Just Eleanor and XO will open the Feb. 8 date, with Reverend Crow and Fluf rounding out the support acts on Feb. 9. As the band expands to a wider audience in March, they’ve announced that The Almost have signed on to provide support throughout their remaining North American stops. That leg of the tour runs from March 7 in Chicago through March 16 in Boston. After that, Finch will pack up and head to Europe for the remainder of March. Black Veil Brides vs. HIM – Cage Match

Finnish love metallers HIM heat things up with their latest single ‘Strange World’ off of their compilation disc ‘XX-Two Decades of Love Metal.’ The song itself was originally released by Kevin Grivois, known by the artist name Ké, in the ’90s. It’s said to be one of the personal favorites of HIM frontman Ville Valo. The band has dates for scheduled for some European festivals; go here to see dates.
