The band’s 2012 full-length, ‘Resolution,’ earned the victory, beating out Gojira’s ‘L’Enfant Sauvage’ and Down’s ‘Purple EP’ by a healthy margin. Released on Jan. 24, 2012, ‘Resolution’ gave fans the entire year to absorb standout tracks such as ‘Desolation,’ ‘Ghost Walking’ and ‘The Number Six.’ Lamb of God brought massive strength with their brand of pure American metal, leading them to successfully snag a win for 2012 Metal Album of the Year. December 18th, 2012 Metalkult Facebook: Hatebreed A wholehearted congratulations is due for Connecticut hardcore leaders Hatebreed , as they’re now official inductees into the Death Match Hall of Fame . Hatebreed went on a went on a roll after their new track ‘Put It to the Torch’ was placed into its first Death Match against German thrash legends Destruction . ‘Put It to the Torch’ defeated another legendary act in Nile , before squaring off to the new-school rising stars of the Contortionist and Upon a Burning Body . For these four consecutive victories, we now officially declare Hatebreed’s ‘Put It to the Torch’ immortal in our Death Match Hall of Fame. Hatebreed’s seventh studio album, ‘The Divinity of Purpose,’ will be released on Jan. 25. Loudwire’s Death Match will be taking a short vacation for the holidays, but be sure to check back the first week of 2013 as we will throw two news acts into the Death Match arena.
