Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Rob Zombie is currently on the road with Marilyn Manson for the ‘Twins of Evil’ tour, but recording his next album is still very much a priority for the musician. Zombie released ‘Hellbilly Deluxe II’ in February 2010, and the follow-up promises to be dark, heavy and weird. Although Zombie won’t be playing any of his new songs on the ‘Twins of Evil’ tour, he recently spoke in depth about his nearly completed fifth full-length record. “We’re not doing anything new just because nobody wants to hear new songs off a record that isn’t out yet,” Zombie tells ToledoFreePress.com . “That is just wasted concert time. We’re mixing it up and doing some older stuff that people will be excited to hear, but nothing new.” Zombie continues, “It’s stylistically sort of a little bit of everything. Fans of my really old stuff will love it because there’s a certain aspect of it that’s very reminiscent of that. But it also is very looking to the future. It’s hard to describe music to somebody if they haven’t heard it, but I feel like it’s the best of all of the things I’ve done. I’ve finally found a perfect match between the old stuff I did and the new stuff. That’s the way it sounds to me anyway.” The prolific musician and horror filmmaker claims to be in one of the most creatively successful periods of his life, which Zombie says will be represented in the upcoming album. “It seems to happen every couple of years or every 10 years or every five years or whatever, you have a moment when it all comes together. Not that the other records are bad, but not every record can be like the most inspired event in your life. But for some reason, this one feels like it is. The songwriting, the sound of it, the vibe, the production — it’s special.” Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson’s ‘Twins of Evil’ tour is set to conclude in Dallas on Oct. 31. Facebook: Converge Halfway into their U.S. tour, Converge had a brush with disaster earlier today (Oct. 24), as their van hit a patch of black ice on their way to the band’s Seattle gig. Bus and van crashes are something that every touring band worries about, and for good reason, as such an accident recently inflicted serious injuries on various members of Baroness , while similar crashes have tragically taken the lives of Metallica ‘s Cliff Burton and Early Graves’ Makh Daniels. Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon informed fans of their van accident, letting everyone know that no injuries occurred and the band will still make it to their Seattle show: After driving all day/evening, we hit a patch of black ice in the mountains of Oregon. We were forced to turn into a highway divider at 40mph in order to avoid sliding under a slew of 18 wheelers. The van spun 180 degrees after impact, and we were left facing the wrong direction on the highway. We spent a few hours prying our bumper off our front wheels. Thankfully, we are rolling again. Bands, be safe put there. Never take anything for granted. Converge have brought Torche and Kvelertak on current U.S. tour , with Nails and Whips/Chains also appearing on select dates. The band continues to tour in support of their latest masterwork , ‘All We Love We Leave Behind.’ [button href=”http://loudwire.com/converge-fault-and-fracture-top-21st-century-metal-songs/” title=”Converge – Top 21st Century Metal Songs” align=”center”]

Fuse TV Intergalactic metallers GWAR provide planet Earth with a number of generous contributions, and although the band tends to hate the human race, they certainly provide us with an entertaining alternative to our typically mundane existence. Along with amusing us with their music and iconic stage show, GWAR have created another must see piece of amusement, as the band recently documented pre-Halloween round of trick-or-treating. Unaccustomed to many Earthly traditions, GWAR chose to give trick-or-treating a shot for the very first time, bringing Fuse TV along with them to film the occasion. Although GWAR were grossly misinformed of when trick-or-treating is socially acceptable, the space monsters went door to door in the beautiful suburbs of New Jersey. GWAR front-thing Oderus Urungus didn’t really wear a costume for the occasion, instead choosing to cover himself in colorful boas and a giant Barack Obama cutout mounted on his battle armor. Bassist Beefcake the Mighty donned a pink tutu for his costume, as new GWAR shredder Pustulus Maximus bought himself a giant cowboy hat for his first Halloween on Earth. Needless to say, hilarity ensues as GWAR proceed to pillage the neighborhood in search of tasty treats. To watch GWAR terrorize families, insult helpless suburbanites, run from their banana-people foes and collect a heroic amount of candy, check out the video below! Photo Credit: Tom Barnes British metalcore act Bring Me the Horizon have chosen the title of their upcoming fourth album, which will see an early 2013 release via RCA. The follow-up to the band’s 2010 album, ‘There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen it. There Is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret,’ will be titled by the single word ‘Sempiternal,’ which means everlasting or unchanging. Having formed in 2004, Bring Me the Horizon have risen to the top of the current metalcore scene. Speaking of their upcoming effort, vocalist Oli Sykes talks about ‘Sempiternal’ with Kerrang! magazine. “I’ve never been so confident about an album,” says Sykes. “It makes our last record just sound s–t. We’re doing stuff we could never dreamed of doing before.” Additionally, Bring Me the Horizon recently performed as part of a metalcore night for BBC Radio. The series also featured Bullet for My Valentine , We Are the Ocean, While She Sleeps, You Me at Six and Lower Than Atlantis. Listen to the BMTH performance here . Kevin Winter, Getty Images Kirk Hammett , lead shredder for Metallica , is a busy man. From writing and releasing his first book that chronicles his massive collection of horror movie memorabilia to filming a 3D movie with his bandmates, Hammett doesn’t seem like he’s slowing down anytime soon. We recently caught up with the axeman in New York City, where he made a stop on his book tour for ‘Too Much Horror Business.’ In addition to discussing the book , we also took some time to chat about Metallica’s next studio album, the longevity of the band and whether or not fans should be planning for a 2013 edition of their festival, Orion Music + More . Just a few months ago, you said that you have around 400 riffs ready for the new album. That’s grown from there. I have even more riffs now. So, as you continue piling on the riffs, where are you guys in the process of starting the next Metallica album? We just filmed a 3D movie up in Vancouver. That’s been at the forefront of our attention right now. We’ve been dealing with the audio aspect of that and pretty soon we’re going to start seeing footage from the concert. Once that particular project kind of dies down and we complete what we need to do with that, then we’re going to start writing songs. We’re going to meet up and start throwing ideas together. That should be really, really interesting. I’m really looking forward to that. What’s not going to be so fun is going through all the musical ideas that we have. I’m not really good at editing myself because I think it’s all good. To be more thorough on that, though, I foresee us starting to get together fairly soon, like in the next couple of months. We’ll start hammering away on it. When do you think fans will get to see the 3D film? We’re shooting for a summer release of next year. I’m really excited about it and I can’t wait to see it myself. The Rolling Stones just released a brand new studio track that comes on the heels of celebrating their 50th anniversary this past summer. With Metallica celebrating 30 years last year, do you think you’ll still be making new music two decades from now? I hope so! I have every intention. The word “retirement” doesn’t really sit well with me. There comes a time when you reach a position in society or culture where people will not let you retire. You can say, “Alright, I’m going to hang up my guitar,” but people will still not let you retire. They’ll constantly remind you of who you are and what you’ve done, so you might as well keep on doing it. It’s not like Metallica ever really slow down. That’s probably most evident in the fact you created your own music festival! Should fans get ready for a second Orion Music + More festival next year? The intention is to definitely do another one. We’re kind of getting our thoughts together on how that might be, where it might be and what our approach to it will be. We’re very, very keen on having another one this year. It was just so much fun. But as for details on the fest, you know, it’s too early in the process right now. I can assure you of one thing, there is going to be another ‘Kirk’s Crypt.’ Bigger and better, two stories this time!
