Devin Townsend Receives Copyright Warnings From YouTube After Posting His Own Videos

Photo Credit: Erich Saide Odd news: YouTube have apparently realized that they host copy-written material! As the world’s largest video hosting and sharing service, YouTube hosts an endless amount of content uploaded by people who have no legal right to do so. YouTube is now ruling with an iron fist against hosting such content, starting with the music of Devin Townshend . Unfortunately, the only issue is that YouTube has been pulling down videos that Townsend himself had posted legally. According to Tweets sent out by Townsend, some of his videos have been mysteriously vanished from his YouTube account. Along with the videos being taken down, YouTube sent Townsend copyright infringement warnings about posting his own music. Townsend comically tweeted: HA! Got a copyright infringement warning from YouTube for posting my own shit…AWESOME!!!!Suck it!=] — Devin Townsend (@dvntownsend) September 18, 2012 Youtube is pulling lots of my own stuff for illegal content. Papa Roach Preview New Song ‘Before I Die’ in Behind-the-Scenes Video

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com With less than two weeks to go before the Oct. 2 release of Papa Roach ‘s latest album ‘ The Connection ,’ the band has released a behind-the-scenes video (watch below) that talks about the new album, and includes portions of the new song ‘Before I Die.’ It’s a revealing video that begins with vocalist Jacoby Shaddix in the hospital, holding up a post-it note that says ‘scared,’ as he prepares for surgery on his vocal cord. Papa Roach had to drop off the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival after a week due to nodules on Shaddix’s vocal cord. Band members also talk about the meaning of the album title ‘The Connection’ in the video.  Shaddix told Loudwire  recently how they decided on that title. “What ‘The Connection’ means to us, it’s our connection to the music, it’s the connection of this music to the fans, it’s the connection that we make onstage with our music, it’s the connection from fan-to-fan on the social Internet marketing media world. It’s like when the Facebook fans start to get to know each other, they come to shows and meet each other and make friends.” He added, “It’s just this connection that Papa Roach makes is bigger than us sitting in a room jamming. It’s larger than life now and we’re just the facilitators for that, so it’s just painfully obvious that this is what it needs to be.” In the video, Shaddix also reveals that he split with his wife during the making of the record. “There was a point where she wanted to go experience life without me. That was the moment I feared in my life the most.  Something so dear to me was being taken away against my will.” His recovery from the procedure is going well, according to a message Shaddix recently posted on Facebook . “Things are lookin good!!! The doctor says my vocal cords look like they are healing very well. So happy so blessed so grateful.” It looks like he’ll be ready to go in time for Papa Roach’s European tour in November. Scott Ian: ‘This Will Be the Only Version of Anthrax Until There Is No Anthrax’

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Anthrax have been on a hot streak after reuniting with singer Joey Belladonna in 2010. The band has since toured around the world, with high-profile slots on the Big Four concerts and the 2012 Mayhem Festival, along with releasing the critically acclaimed 2011 album ‘Worship Music.’ With the current lineup remaining strong, guitarist Scott Ian has declared, “This will be the only version of Anthrax until there is no Anthrax.” Scott Ian recently spoke with the Georgia Straight about the return of Joey Belladonna and his strongest traits as a frontman. “There’s a certain maniacal energy that Joey has onstage,” says Ian, “and that’s his thing. I mean, if I just compare him to our contemporaries in the Big Four, between James [Hetfield] and Dave Mustaine and Tom Araya you’ve got three frontmen that are all attached to the microphone—but Joey’s all over the place onstage. He’s a maniac, and I always felt like that was one of the things that gave us the kick in the ass we needed way back when to be able to break through and make it, so to speak.” Ian also spoke about how if the current lineup ever changes, Anthrax will cease to exist. “I’ve gone on record saying this will be the only version of Anthrax until there is no Anthrax,” claims Ian. “That’s how I feel, absolutely, in my heart. I don’t see why we would do anything different. This band sounds so great; we made a great record. And I’m super-excited about the future of this band creatively.” Anthrax are currently on the latest leg of their  North American tour with fellow thrash legends Testament and Death Angel. Can You Guess Whose Tattoos These Are?

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com This tattooed rocker is giving us a lot to feast our eyes on including a few words and phrases permanently etched into his skin. His upper arm reads ‘Driven By Music’ while the word ‘Strength’ works its way down the lower part of his arm. Taking up real estate on the inside of the arm, it’s easy to see how these tats provide constant inspiration for this singer as he hits the stage every night. Landmine Marathon’s Grace Perry – Brutal Female Metal Vocalists

Prosthetic Grace Perry is the earthshaking vocalist of Arizona death metal band Landmine Marathon . As an original member of the band since its 2004 inception, Perry has helped the group deliver four studio albums. The depth of her guttural voice and her ability to project her screams, along with a serpentine twist binding her lyrics, has helped bring Landmine Marathon to underground prosperity. Metal Injection may have put it best when they called Grace Perry ‘The Praying Mantis of Metal.’ Her sheen, yet menacing stage presence is incredibly unique, as she will ungrudgingly jump into the pit and get knocked around alongside the toughest men in the room. Landmine Marathon’s latest release is the 2011 full-length ‘Gallows.’ Perry delivers the most booming and well-rounded performance of her career on the album, and we highly recommend it for death metal fans everywhere. Check out Landmine Marathon’s video for ‘Beaten and Left Blind,’ along with a perfect showcase of Grace Perry’s perplexing stage presence in this live performance of ‘Rise With the Tide.’ [button href=”http://loudwire.com/kat-katz-brutal-female-metal-vocalists” title=”Next Female Vocalist: ‘Trauma Queen'” align=”center”] Landmine Marathon, ‘Beaten and Left Blind’ Landmine Marathon, ‘Rise With the Tide’ (Live)

The Wedding, ‘In The End’ – Exclusive Song Premiere

Tooth & Nail Records The Wedding are gearing up to drop their new disc ‘No Direction’ on Sept. 25, and Loudwire has the exclusive premiere of the album track ‘In the End.’ After undergoing a few lineup changes since their formation in 2008, the band has begun to hit their stride with the addition of former Letter Kills singer Matt Shelton. The frontman’s raw and powerful vocals on ‘In the End’ are exactly what the song needs and the extra urgings of his bandmates midway through the song show just how much fun he’s having behind the mic. Shelton’s vocals provide the perfect marriage for what the rest of the band is laying down on the track. Drummer Matt Jameson’s rapid-fire beats push the song along, while bassist Cody Driggers and guitarists Trevor Sarver and Adam Thron keep the riffs flying at a highly accelerated level. Simply put, ‘In the End’ is a straight-up anthemic rocker. Driggers tells Loudwire, “If you’re not gonna listen to this song loud, don’t listen to it at all. I hit 120mph on my Harley in the desert and thought, ‘I’m gonna write a song that makes me feel like that.’ We like loud, we like fast. Turn it up and put the pedal to the floor.” The Wedding are currently touring in support of the ‘No Direction’ disc, with dates lined up through the end of the month. The album was produced by noted rock producer Jasen Rauch and features a guest appearance by Story of the Year’s Dan Marsala on the track ‘The Lesser Worth.’ Pre-orders for the album are being taken here ahead of the Sept. 25 release date.
