Paul Di’Anno: Official Facebook Although Bruce Dickinson is widely regarded as the definitive vocalist of Iron Maiden , fans of the band still hold much respect for Paul Di’Anno , who sang on the albums ‘Iron Maiden’ (1980) and ‘Killers’ (1981). However, at Di’Anno’s recent tour stop in Ukraine, the vocalist got into an altercation after being heckled by an audience member. Di’Anno has been making music since his departure from the band, along with performing songs from Maiden’s first two albums around the world. The 54-year-old Di’Anno has claimed that he will be bidding fans farewell , with 2013 to be his final year as an active touring musician. In what could possibly be his final Ukrainian show, Di’Anno found himself in a war of words after being heckled with “Bruce Dickinson” chants by a member of the audience. Mocking the broken English of the heckler, Di’Anno replied, “I am number one vocal Bruce Dickinson,” at around the 1:45 mark in the video below, adding, “I’m sorry, I don’t sing opera,” before comically singing the chorus of the Maiden staple ‘Run to the Hills.’ “If you like Bruce Dickinson; go home. Listen to his records. Why did you come and buy a ticket, motherf—er? This is real punk, man. This is what made Iron Maiden, not the money-making machine. If you don’t like it, go f— yourself.” Di’Anno continues, “Better still, you wanna fight? You’ll be sorry. I’ll rip off your head and s–t down your neck, you motherf—er.” Di’Anno threw some homophobic slurs at the Ukrainian fan, who tried to smooth things over with Di’Anno throughout the rest of his set. Di’Anno seemed to forgive the fan as the show came to a close with a cover of ‘Blitzkreig Bop’ by Di’Anno’s “favorite band,” the Ramones. Facebook – Drowning Pool Drowning Pool ‘s as-yet-untitled fifth studio album is due in early 2013, and in advance of its release, the video for the new song ‘Saturday Night’ has been unveiled (watch below). The song features Drowning Pool’s new vocalist Jasen Moreno, who made his live debut as Ryan McCombs’ replacement earlier this summer. Moreno says, “I am extremely happy and very grateful to be a part of the Drowning Pool family. Everyone’s been so welcoming, especially the fans. I can’t praise them enough. They’ve made me feel right at home. This first run of live shows couldn’t have gone any better!” ‘Saturday Night’ is anthemic and very melodic. The video features the band performing in the middle of a crowd of fans and intersperses shots of a party, scantily clad women and other things that happen when you live your life like it’s Saturday night. Bassist Stevie Benton talked about the track with Noisecreep . “The question I am most often asked is ‘What’s life on tour like?’ This song is my best description of a typical day on the road.” The band’s new album is being produced by Kato Khandwala (Cold, Taylor Momsen). Drowning Pool’s best known song is their 2001 hit ‘Bodies,’ which was recently named one of Loudwire’s Top 21st Century Hard Rock Songs . Watch Drowning Pool – ‘Saturday Night’ Video

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com As part of the continued ramp up to 3 Doors Down ‘s ‘ Greatest Hits ‘ album, original band members Brad Arnold, Chris Henderson and Todd Harrell are reflecting on the songs and videos that paved the way for their success. The group is once again teaming with Loudwire to showcase the video vignette reflecting on the clip for one of their earliest hit singles, ‘Loser.’ In the piece, guitarist Chris Henderson takes the lead, talking about what it was like to be a new band and having to shoot music videos for the first time. He explains that ‘Loser’ was the first time that he was actually given a solo shot in a music video and the nerves that went into that shoot. Henderson gives his account of things in the vignette below. ‘Loser’ was the second single from the band’s 2000 debut disc, ‘The Better Life,’ and after the huge success of ‘Kryptonite,’ it showed that the band was not going to be a one-hit wonder. Years later, there’s a lot of 3 Doors Down hits, including ‘ Duck and Run ,’ ‘Be Like That,’ ‘ When I’m Gone ,’ ‘Here Without You,’ and ‘It’s Not My Time’ among others. All of those tracks are featured on the forthcoming ‘Greatest Hits’ collection, due Nov. 19. 3 Doors Down will support the upcoming release with a late 2012 co-headlining trek with Daughtry . The tour gets under way with the band’s annual ‘The Better Life’ Foundation concert Nov. 17 in Tunica, Miss., and concludes Dec. 15 in Anaheim, Calif. YouTube Black Dahlia Murder are in the midst of a lineup change, with drummer Shannon Lucas leaving the band to pursue outside projects. The split appears to be amicable though, as Lucas says he will continue to support the band as best he can and was instrumental in naming his replacement. In a video posting, Lucas states, “Some of you may have heard that I was sitting out on the current Dethklok tour. That is correct. I’m also stepping back from BDM to pursue some other things in life. Filling in right now is a kid named Alan Cassidy. He played for Abigail Williams for a little while and he is an outstanding drummer. I was active in helping the band pick him as a fill-in. There’s no permanent member yet. Alan’s just filling in for now. He plays the parts just like they are on the record and he’s an outstanding drummer, so if you go see him, show him some love. He’s a good dude.” Lucas went on to thank the fans for coming to the show, buying tickets and merchandise and supporting their albums. As for the group he’s leaving behind, the drummer adds, “I wanna thank the band for giving me some of the best years of my life and records that I am very, very proud to be a part of. I’ve always loved BDM and I will always continue to be in the background and help them out, watch them grow, further their career and put out more records.” At present, Lucas says he’s booked January studio time to track drums on a project he has with Killswitch Engage ‘s Adam Dutkiewicz and Cannibal Corpse ‘s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. He’s also got a grind project that will follow that’s expected to feature some name players. And on the business side, he and his wife are building up to the launch of a tattoo shop just outside of Richmond, Va.
