Stone Sour Debut ‘Gone Sovereign’ Video

Roadrunner Records As anticipation builds for the Oct. 22 release of  Stone Sour ‘s fourth album ‘ House of Gold & Bones Part 1 ,’ the band has released the video for ‘Gone Sovereign.’ P.R. Brown, who has worked on several previous Stone Sour and Slipknot videos, directed ‘Gone Sovereign.’ The performance clip begins with the band tightly grouped around Roy Mayorga’s drum kit, then once the song kicks in, the shot widens to reveal they are in a club playing for frenzied fans. The second half of the two part concept album is due next year. Singer Corey Taylor is also creating a comic book to go along with the ‘House of Gold & Bones’ albums. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” says Taylor. “I’ve always been very critical of when comics go south and basically pull the fan out of what the potential is. It’s me pretty much putting my money where my mouth is.” He is scheduled to be at New York’s Comic Con this weekend to promote the comic. Stone Sour are set to embark on a world tour at the end of this month. It will take them to Japan, South America, Europe and Australia. “It’s gonna be awesome to bring the ‘House of Gold and Bones’ to the fans live,” Taylor says. “We’re all psyched to come to Japan and South America right away as well- they’re some of the best fans in the world! We gave people a taste of Part One, now we’re gonna bring them the best Stone Sour show they’ve ever seen. Get ready: it begins soon…” [button href=”http://www.noisecreep.com/2012/10/11/stone-sour-gone-sovereign-video/” title=”Watch Stone Sour’s ‘Gone Sovereign’ Video at Noisecreep” align=”center”]

Kid Rock and Actor Sean Penn Go Head-to-Head in Hilarious Political Video

YouTube: KidRockVideos Kid Rock and actor Sean Penn have just made one of the funniest collaborative videos in recent memory. The two stars operate on two very different sides of the political spectrum, but in this short film titled ‘Americans,’ the duo are able to find a peaceful friendship in each other, while Penn persuades Kid Rock to buy a Prius, Kid Rock replaces Penn’s martini with a good ol’ brewski, and much more. The video begins with an irritable Sean Penn walking into a bar, faced with a Mitt Romney speech on the television, with Kid Rock performing in support of the Republican Presidential candidate. After asking a bartender to change the channel, Penn notices that Kid Rock, draped in a pair of overalls, happens to be at the very same drinking establishment. A brilliant war of words develops, as Penn calls Kid Rock a “seal-clubbing, Confederate flag-waving, oil-whoring, ‘Chick-fil-A’-eating, waterboarding, NASCAR-loving, Caiman Island bank account-having, endangered species hunting, warmongering, redneck, toothless, Wall Street troglodyte.” Kid Rock responds by pinning Penn as a “tofu-munching, welfare-loving, Prius-driving, Obama-sucking, tree-hugging, whale-saving, gay marriage-fantasizing, big government-voting, PETA-chasing, Oprah Winfrey-masturbating, flag-burning, socialist, ACLU, whiney-ass granola-crat.” Before a fight breaks out between the two, common ground is discovered which unites the duo, inspiring them experience the life of their political contrarians. The rest of the video is hilarious, and absolutely worth a good watch. “The goal of the film is to tear down the one-dimensional political stereotypes portrayed by the media by confronting them head on,” reads the video’s description. “It reminds us that what really matters is that we’re all Americans, with diverse thoughts, opinions and stances on issues. We are millions of unique, individual parts, the sum of which comprise a whole that is the shining beacon of freedom throughout the world.” See how Kid Rock and Sean Penn settle their differences in this soon-to-go-viral video. Mark Tremonti Envisions Wolfgang Van Halen Recording With His Band

Fernando Leon / Kevin Winter, Getty Images Wolfgang Van Halen was definitely thrown into the fire, being called upon to play bass for Tremonti a day before the band’s first show of their fall tour, but it looks like things are working out so well that his involvement will continue beyond their current trek. Mark Tremonti tells the Metal Shrine blog, “We’ve already talked about [recording] and we look forward to it. I think it’ll add a whole other element to this band.” The guitarist was very complimentary of his new bassist, who came on board after his longtime Creed and Alter Bridge cohort Brian Marshall had to exit to deal with some personal issues. Tremonti says of Wolfgang, “He’s a very positive person and good to be around and an incredibly talented musician. Things have been going well.” The guitarist says that things have a weird way of working out, and Van Halen’s entrance into the band was not the first time he was actually considered for the group. The guitarist says, “We had talked about having him being a part of the band early on, but Van Halen got back together and did a nine-month tour together and it was right in the window when we needed to do this, so we moved on without him. Eric Friedman tracked the bass on the record, and then we started touring and we had Brian Marshall playing bass with us, and then something came up at the last minute with Brian and it just so happened that Wolfgang was in town. I gave him a shout and he came right over and jumped on board.” In a recent video interview , Wolfgang admitted that even though he was a last minute addition to the lineup, he was definitely familiar with the music. The bassist says he was hanging out in New Jersey with Sevendust at the same time that Tremonti was tracking his disc, and got to know the band pretty well. Linkin Park Highlight Hardships of Military Families in ‘Castle of Glass’ Video

YouTube Linkin Park pack a powerful emotional punch with their latest video for ‘Castle of Glass,’ which tells the story of a military family losing their father to war. The clip, which was shot in association with the creators of the upcoming ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’ video game, centers on a young boy who is greeted at the door by a soldier preparing to break the news of his father’s death while his mother returns to his side crying about their loss. Inside the house, Mike Shinoda stands alone as the foundation begins to crumble around him, mirroring the emotional shock that is impacting the family. The powerful song takes on more resonance as the young boy begins to explore his father’s belongings and starts to understand what he sacrificed to serve his country and even though the boy has lost his father, he prepares to follow in his footsteps. Prior to the video’s premiere, the band offered fans a chance to unlock the clip by taking part in a ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’ beta test. The group coordinated with EA Games to create their new clip, and ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’ footage is worked into the ‘Castle of Glass’ video itself. Mark Tremonti Shreds in Video for New Single ‘So You’re Afraid’

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Who’s ready to shred? Tremonti have released a new video for ‘So You’re Afraid,’ the follow-up single to ‘You Waste Your Time.’  The live video footage was recorded at Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, Ill., showing the band in a pretty laid back atmosphere allowing the music to take center stage. According to Blabbermouth , the riff in ‘So You’re Afraid’ may sound a little familiar. That’s because a version of it was used in Tremonti’s recent instructional DVD as a riff exercise. Clearly the riff has developed into a full blown song and serves as the backbone for the high-energy, pounding, rocker that offers up a taste of his metal roots and influences. Mark Tremonti has proven himself as a true triple-threat and continues to shine with his songwriting, vocals and lead guitar for the solo-based project. Tremonti is currently out on tour in support of their debut disc ‘All I Was,’ released on July 17. Bassist Wolfgang Van Halen has joined the trek due to Creed and Alter Bridge bassist Brian Marshall running into personal issues before the dates kicked off. The U.S. leg of the tour has wrapped up and now Tremonti heads overseas for shows in England, Germany, Indonesia and more; check out all of the remaining dates here . Bret Michaels Dedicates Music Room at Arizona Hospital That Saved His Life

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Two years after he underwent an emergency procedure there to repair bleeding around his brain — and a year after he returned for heart surgery — Poison frontman Bret Michaels dedicated a new hospitality and music room at St. Joseph’s Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. Michaels was on hand for the ceremony on Tuesday (Oct. 9), along with Patty White, the hospital’s president and CEO, who told him, “We want to welcome you back this time for a celebration.” After thanking the neurosurgeon who saved his life, Michaels unveiled the Bret Michaels Hospitality and Music Room, “whose sole purpose is to provide comfort, serenity and peace to families that are going through a very trying time in their lives.” The singer was instrumental in the room’s design, right down to the decor — which includes photos and magazine covers of Michaels and his family, televisions playing Michaels concert footage, and Michaels quotes such as, “Raise your hands, rejoice and rock as if there is no tomorrow” and “Respect the past, dream the future, live in the moment.” “I think Bret has really inspired so many people with his recent medical illnesses and his remarkable recovery,” said Joseph Zabramski, the doctor who operated on Michaels’ brain. “And he will continue to inspire, particularly patients and their families who come here to Barrow and use this room to find peace and comfort during their stay with us.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/bret-michaels-get-your-rock-on-video/” title=”Next: Watch Bret Michaels’ ‘Get Your Rock On’ Video” align=”center”]

Rage Against the Machine to Release 20th Anniversary Editions of Self-Titled Debut Album

Sony Legacy Rage Against the Machine and Sony Legacy are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band’s eponymous debut in a big, big way with the incredibly deluxe release ‘Rage Against the Machine –XX,’ which will be available in several configurations on Nov. 27. The politically charged 1992 album, which meshed rap and rock in a fresh, uncompromising way that has not been adequately copied since, fused Zack de la Rocha’s fire-in-his-belly lyrical proclamations with Tom Morello’s unique, sounds-like-a-turntable guitar tone. The incendiary, call-to-arms original was released in November of 1992 and the time to celebrate its power and legacy is now. ‘Rage Against the Machine – XX’ is newly remastered and will be offered in three formulations: -The 20th Anniversary Edition Deluxe Box Set houses two CDs, two DVDs, one 12″ 180gm vinyl LP, one 40-page booklet and a two-sided poster. -The 20th Anniversary Special Edition collects two CDs and a bonus DVD featuring six tracks in an oversized softpack. -The 20th Anniversary Edition single compact disc includes three bonus tracks. Additionally, a 12″ 180gm vinyl edition–a picture disc and a facsimile reproduction–of the original LP has been remastered and will be available, sans bonus tracks. Compact Disc One of the newly remastered ‘Rage Against the Machine – XX’ will include the original album in its entirety, as well as three collectible b-sides from the era. Compact Disc Two presents the original Rage Against the Machine demo tape, which was recorded in 1991 and sold for $5 at the merch table at the band’s earliest gigs. So it’s quite an artifact and a piece of RATM history, a “must own” for collectors, since it helped the band secure its record deal with Epic. This marks the first time the entire demo tapes have seen a full official release. DVD #1 included in the Deluxe Box Set features Rage Against the Machine’s free concert in Finsbury Park on June 2010, which was a “thank you” to U.K. fans for making ‘Killing in the Name’ the U.K.’s No. 1 single during Christmas Week 2009. Also included are music videos plus live concert performance clips. DVD #2 features Rage’s debut album, focusing on live performance from 1991-1994 and includes the full set of RATM’s first public performance as well as various live, rare clips. New liner notes were penned specifically for this release by friend, fan and hip-hop icon Chuck D. of Public Enemy. If you’ve got a RATM diehard in your life, your holiday shopping just got a whole lot easier. CD 1 – Rage Against The Machine – Remastered 01. Bombtrack 02. Killing In The Name 03.
