Zakk Wylde Recording Hurricane Sandy Benefit Song With Members of Sevendust + Candlebox

Ethan Miller (2) / Facebook: Candlebox Several members of the hard rock community are mobilizing to help those in need by recording a benefit track to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The collective, which consists of Black Label Society ‘s Zakk Wylde and JD Deservio, Sevendust ‘s Morgan Rose , Candlebox ‘s Kevin Martin and New York outfit the Infinite Staircase, will record the as-yet-untitled song with plans to release it as an iTunes exclusive on Jan. 8. The group has already booked studio time this week at Architekt Music, the state of the art recording facility where Sevendust tracked their ‘Black Out the Sun’ disc and where the Infinite Staircase are currently recording, and they’ll use the space for free as engineer Mike Ferretti has agreed to donate services to make the project come to life. All of the musicians involved have close ties to the New York and New Jersey areas, with either family or friends living in the vicinity of the Hurricane Sandy destruction. Black Label Society just finished dates in Canada and South America and they’re currently planning a new DVD titled ‘Unblackened’ that’s expected to be recording next year. Martin has been touring with Candlebox and is currently mulling a second disc from his other project the Gracious Few. Rose and his Sevendust crew will be issuing the new album ‘Black Out the Sun’ in March, and the Infinite Staircase are currently recording their follow-up to 2009′s ‘The Road Less Traveled,’ with Rose producing and playing drums on the album. Anthrax Film ‘What’s In My Bag’ Segment at Amoeba Music Record Store

Megaforce Amoeba Music is one of the most celebrated chain of record stores in the world. Based in California, the shops can carry around 100,000 CDs, vinyl albums and more. With such a collection among Amoeba’s Berkeley, San Francisco and Los Angeles stores, choosing just a few items to buy is a brain-scrambling task, but the members of Anthrax jumped at the challenge for a segment called ‘What’s in My Bag?’ First up was guitarist Scott Ian , who passed over music entirely with his findings. Ian suggested the animated series ‘Batman: Year One,’ the Patton Oswalt comedy album ‘Finest Hour’ and some old school entertainment from ‘The Dean Martin Variety Show.’ Also choosing Dean Martin in his bag, bassist Frank Bello grabbed himself a copy of he seventh season of ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ along with U2′s ’360 Degrees’ live DVD. Don’t worry, the choices from the remaining Anthrax members delve more into rock ‘n’ roll, as drummer Charlie Benante pulled out three Queen albums along with the Nirvana classic ‘Nevermind’ on vinyl. Among others, guitarist Rob Caggiano walked away with albums from Rob Crow and Peter Gabriel, along with the Pink Floyd offering, ‘Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81.’ Finally, vocalist Joey Belladonna picked some gems from guitarists Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson, before unveiling his choice of Whitesnake’s ‘Live at Donington 1990′ album, which features guitar god Steve Vai. Black Veil Brides Unleash Video for ‘In The End’

YouTube Go big or go home seems to be less of a challenge and more of a promise when it comes to Black Veil Brides . With their new disc ‘ Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones ’ due out on Jan. 8, the band recently unveiled a new video for ‘In the End,’ the first single from the upcoming concept album. The song kicks off in epic fashion, hinting at the story that’s about to unfold, with frontman Andy Biersack wailing, “ In the end / As you fade into the night / Who will tell / The story of your life ,” as the band rips into the song with a desert scene serving as their backdrop. The up-tempo rocker wages a battle call and comes equipped with everything fans have come to expect from Black Veil Brides from theatrics to shredding guitar solos and a big sing-a-long chorus. Although it may take hearing the entire new disc for the full concept to unravel, it’s clear to see in the video that the storytelling is leading the way. In a recent interview with Hollywood Music Magazine , Biersack talked about the ideas being spun behind the scenes for their new disc, explaining, “It’s a ‘V for Vendetta’-esque story where this bad guy organization called F.E.A.R. takes away science and creativity from man and I suppose is a parallel to the religious and political upbringing of all of us in small towns in America.” In addition to the first single, BVB are gearing up for the debut of a full-length film based on the new disc titled ‘Legion of the Black,’ set to be screened in theaters in Los Angeles, Calif., on Dec. 21-23. For fans that can’t make it out to the west cost to partake, the band will also be offering it through pay-per-view on their Facebook page. Coinciding with the release of ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones,’ Black Veil Brides will be kicking off their Church of the Wild Ones North American tour on Jan 4 with dates through March. Three Days Grace, ‘Chalk Outline’ (In the Studio) – Exclusive Video Premiere

YouTube: Three Days Grace Three Days Grace are enjoying one of the biggest hits of their career with ‘Chalk Outline,’ and fans of the band will now have a chance to see how the song came together thanks to a new “in the studio” video that’s debuting exclusively here at Loudwire. The clip takes you up-close and personal with Three Days Grace as the band works among the stacks of speakers and soundproofing to get exactly the take that they want for their ‘Transit of Venus’ album (available at iTunes ). Neil Sanderson is keeping the beat behind the kit while Barry Stock and Brad Walst bob their headphone-covered heads as they lay down the crunchy riffs that have dominated radio over the past several weeks. Meanwhile, singer Adam Gontier alternates between hiding behind a pair of stacks and a microphone screen during the versus and being front and center for the camera during the chorus. ‘Chalk Outline’ has hovered at or near the top of most rock charts during its run this year and it recently cracked Loudwire’s  10 Best Rock Songs of 2012  list. The track is also currently one of the Rock Song of the Year candidates that fans can vote upon in the 2012 Loudwire Music Awards. Fans will be able to hear ‘Chalk Outline’ and many of the other great tracks from the ‘Transit of Venus’ album when the band teams up with Shinedown on their 2013 North American Tour. The first leg of dates  were revealed back in November, and the second leg of dates were just announced this week.
