Poison’s Bret Michaels to Host Travel Channel’s ‘Rock My RV’ Series

Michael Buckner, Getty Images Poison frontman Bret Michaels has found his next television project, as he’s signed on to host the new Travel Channel Series ‘ Rock My RV ,’ which starts production in November. Michaels has a longtime love for RVs, and the Travel Channel is allowing him to join a skilled team of designers and fabricators in turning average, ordinary RVs into outrageous, badass mobile mansions. The series is scheduled to premiere on Travel Channel next year. Network GM Andy Singer says, “For the past 25 years, Bret Michaels has spent at least nine months out of the year in a tour bus that he personally designs from top to bottom. We couldn’t think of a better frontman than Bret for the series. He lives and breathes life on the road and undoubtedly holds the record for the most hours logged in a custom coach.” Michaels adds, “Between touring and traveling, I spend a lot of time on the road and my tricked-out, custom coach is my home away from home. I crisscross the country and live in my tour bus, and I know how to take an RV from ordinary to extraordinary. I can’t wait to put my expertise to use and show people how to make their RVs rock.” The vocalist has enjoyed a number of successful TV projects in recent years, beginning with his VH1 dating series ‘Rock of Love.’ He also let the cameras in on his personal life with the documentary series, ‘Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.’ From there, he went on to become the winner on a season of Donald Trump’s series, ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ on which he’ll appear again this spring as part of the show’s all-star season. He’s also appeared on ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics,’ the ‘Miss Universe’ pageant and ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,’ among other TV appearances. How about Bret Michaels taking on Dee Snider head-to-headbanging-head in the new ‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’ set to kick off in March of 2013. ‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’ is bringing back 13 of the shows most notorious and successful celebrities to duke it out for the all-star crown and tons of cash for their associated charities. Returning rocker Bret Michaels was the victor of his season back in 2010 even battling through several life-threatening illnesses to win the show. He’ll also serve as the only returning celebrity who has walked away as a champion from the past seasons. Michaels recently expressed his enthusiasm about the opportunity to compete again in a new interview. “Last time I was really sick, and this time I’m ready to come back, being a lifelong diabetic,” Michaels told the Today Show . “This year is going to be insane; the competition is going to be insane.” Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider didn’t win his season but was a formidable competitor, even keeping it very rock ‘n’ roll and breaking a finger during the competition. Other celebs on the roster include Gary Busey, Lisa Rinna, Lil Jon, Dennis Rodman, Stephen Baldwin, Trace Atkins, Marilu Henner, Penn Gillette, Claudia Jordan and Brande Roderick. The winner will score $250,000 for the charity of their choice. Bret Michaels Dedicates Music Room at Arizona Hospital That Saved His Life

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Two years after he underwent an emergency procedure there to repair bleeding around his brain — and a year after he returned for heart surgery — Poison frontman Bret Michaels dedicated a new hospitality and music room at St. Joseph’s Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. Michaels was on hand for the ceremony on Tuesday (Oct. 9), along with Patty White, the hospital’s president and CEO, who told him, “We want to welcome you back this time for a celebration.” After thanking the neurosurgeon who saved his life, Michaels unveiled the Bret Michaels Hospitality and Music Room, “whose sole purpose is to provide comfort, serenity and peace to families that are going through a very trying time in their lives.” The singer was instrumental in the room’s design, right down to the decor — which includes photos and magazine covers of Michaels and his family, televisions playing Michaels concert footage, and Michaels quotes such as, “Raise your hands, rejoice and rock as if there is no tomorrow” and “Respect the past, dream the future, live in the moment.” “I think Bret has really inspired so many people with his recent medical illnesses and his remarkable recovery,” said Joseph Zabramski, the doctor who operated on Michaels’ brain. “And he will continue to inspire, particularly patients and their families who come here to Barrow and use this room to find peace and comfort during their stay with us.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/bret-michaels-get-your-rock-on-video/” title=”Next: Watch Bret Michaels’ ‘Get Your Rock On’ Video” align=”center”]
