Against Me! Vocalist Laura Jane Grace Has Teeth Shattered in Concert Accident

YouTube Against Me! singer Laura Jane Grace will have reconstructive dental surgery after a crowd surfing audience member managed to accidentally knock the microphone stand into her mouth during a show, resulting in the early conclusion of the performance. The band was playing in Wilmington, N.C., on Wednesday night (Nov. 7) when it’s alleged that an audience member was pushed toward the stage into the stand that managed to shatter Grace’s teeth and led to an angry equipment throw down from the singer. Punk News reports here was no video of the incident, but fans began making online comments about what happened. One fan, Matt H., posted that he apologized for the “douchebags that stormed the stage and stopped the show,” and begged the vocalist not to think any less of the rest of the crowd because of what happened at the show. Grace offered her comments on the situation in a series of tweets that read: For those asking, last night my mic was kicked into my face and it shattered a couple of teeth. It was an accident, but still really hurt… — Laura Jane Grace (@LauraJaneGrace) November 8, 2012 I’m also pretty upset about the idea reconstructive dental surgery. — Laura Jane Grace (@LauraJaneGrace) November 8, 2012 I’m gonna start a kickstarter to get a diamond grill like Kanye — Laura Jane Grace (@LauraJaneGrace) November 8, 2012 Against Me! have been working on a new album called ‘Transgender Dysphoria Blues,’ that will reportedly touch on Laura Jane Grace’s transformation over the past year. Grace, formery Tom Gabel, came out as transgender in May. Bassist Andrew Seward told MTV Hive  of the album, “It just sounds f—ing killer. I don’t know if ‘brutal’ is the right word, but it sounds really f—ing tough, and good. Laura is recording the whole thing herself — engineering, producing, build the studio — full on everything.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/against-me-singer-laura-jane-grace-discusses-fan-reaction-to-transgender-transformation/” title=”Next: Laura Jane Grace Reveals Fan Reaction to Transgender Transformation” align=”center”]

Three Days Grace’s Brad Walst Joins Neuroblastoma Research Fundraiser

Ethan Miller, Getty Images Three Days Grace are usually pretty good about signing on for causes, but bassist Brad Walst has a personal reason for participating in the James Fund’s walk-run fundraiser for neuroblastoma research. His young son was diagnosed as having a cancerous neuroblastoma tumor several years ago. Walst will join the group of runners and walkers around the world in taking part in the international event on Oct. 28. He’s started a page where fans can sponsor his participation. It’s his goal to reach $3,000 in donations and at last check he’d raised 46 percent of the figure with just over $1,400 contributed. In the seven years the James Fund has been in existence over $275,000 has been raised for neuroblastoma research. Walst posted a photo of his son James rocking out at the Rockstar Uproar Tour earlier this year, along with his personal appeal for support. His message read: Hello Everyone… On October 28, 2012, I will be participating in the Walk/Run for The James Fund. Four years ago, my life was changed forever when I heard the dreaded news that my son James (who hadn’t even celebrated his second birthday yet) had neuroblastoma, one of the most devastating childhood cancers. When I look back on all that he has been through, it is still shocking to know that his tiny spine has been taken apart and put back together again (not once, but twice!) to rid his body of this awful disease. It has been over 3 years since his tumor has stabilized – James is one of the lucky ones. Not all children with neuroblastoma are as lucky, in fact the majority are not. This is the reason we support the James Fund. In the past 4 years the supporters of our team James Rocks! have raised over $65,000 for the Walk/Run! There are no words to express our extreme gratitude – THANK-YOU!! This year’s event will support a national Neuroblastoma Drug Discovery Project to discover new drugs to treat neuroblastoma. This project has many facets, from the lab bench to the clinic.?? There are no cures for neuroblastoma, and it is the goal of the Drug Discovery Project to discover an effective treatment to save our kids. Sincerely,? Three Days Grace Take ‘Chalk Outline’ Video to the Streets

Vevo.com After watching Three Days Grace ‘s new video for ‘ Chalk Outline ,’ it might be worth it to steer clear of the general vicinity of singer Adam Gontier. The clip for the band’s latest chart-topping single focuses primarily on the singer walking the streets of Brooklyn, similar to the Verve’s Richard Ashcroft in the ‘ Bittersweet Symphony ‘ video years ago. While nothing bad happens to Gontier as he belts out the song through the streets, there are a few altercations and accidents that occur around him. The Shane Drake-directed clip is also fun for fans of the band, as the group’s other members make cameos in the background of scenes. ‘Chalk Outline’ is the No. 1 rock hit from the band’s newly released, ‘ Transit of Venus ‘ album. Drummer Neil Sanderson previously stated of the disc , “We went for a tighter, more articulated sound on this record. The music we were writing was a little more intricate than in the past, and we’ve been experimenting with new instruments … We wanted to present these new ideas concisely without going over-the-top in ambiance and overall production.” Look for Three Days Grace supporting the album this fall with club dates beginning Oct. 8 in Dallas.
