The Used Bring Vigorous Show to New York City

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire The foundation at Best Buy Theater was tested last night as fans jumped to the music of The Used , We Came As Romans , Crown the Empire and Mindflow for the Take Action Tour. The crowd went crazy as Used frontman Bert McCracken and his crew took the stage. Fans sang along to well known favorites such as ‘The Taste of Ink,’ ‘Take It Away,’ ‘I Caught Fire,’ ’All That I’ve Got’ and, of course, ‘A Box Full of Sharp Objects.’ McCracken addressed the crowd about his sobriety, and his revitalized force showed onstage as he sounded flawless. They also performed tracks off of their latest disc ‘Vulnerable,’ including‘I Come Alive,’ ‘Put Me Out,’ ‘Hands and Faces’ and ‘Now That You’re Dead.’ The crowd fed off of the energy of the band and it’s no wonder why the Used have maintained such a strong fanbase and powerful presence for well over a decade. Speaking of powerful presence, We Came As Romans rocked the house as crowd surfers made their way to the front while circle pits started up in the back. Vocalists Kyle Pavone and Dave Stephens ended the set by making their way into the crowd and handing their mics to some diehard fans for their voices to be heard. Crown The Empire, hailing from Dallas, and Brazillian metallers Mindflow kicked off the energetic night. For remaining dates where you can catch the Take Action tour, go here . Bring Me the Horizon Unleash Video for New Song ‘Shadow Moses’

YouTube Bring Me the Horizon kicked off the new year in blistering fashion by debuting the new single ‘ Shadow Moses .’ Now, they’ve just unveiled a stirring music video for song. The clip may be a little difficult to watch for those with motion sickness, but the quick-cutting camera trick definitely adds something to the video that makes it unique. The imagery of the band performing against stark backdrops like a snow-covered field or an ocean shore in winter provides striking visuals for the hard-hitting track and the usage of red flares is definitely eye-catching. ‘Shadow Moses’ is the lead single off of Bring Me the Horizon’s forthcoming album, ‘Sempiternal,’ due April 30. Singer Oli Sykes previously stated of the new disc, “I’ve never been so confident about an album. It makes our last record sound like s—. We’re doing stuff we could never dreamed of doing before.” For those wondering about the odd album title which is repeated in the song ‘Shadow Moses’ several times, it means “eternal and unchanging” or “everlasting.” Given that knowledge, the dark and cold imagery in the video makes the clip all the more intense. Korpiklaani + More Bring Folk Metal Show to New York City

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire The Finnish folk metalers of Korpiklaani graced New York’s Gramercy Theater on Saturday (Sept. 22) with a stellar performance along with Moonsorrow, Tyr and Metsatoll. The New York crowd moshed, danced and crowd surfed during the entire Korpiklaani set. The band had charming stage presence as they played fan favorites such as ‘Levan Polka,’ ‘Kunnia,’ ‘Wooden Pints,’ ‘Journey Man’ and numerous others. They also played some tavern tunes that the crowd appreciated such as ‘Beer Beer,’ ‘Vodka,’ ‘Tequila,’ ‘Happy Little Boozer,’ just to name a few. The Helsinki pagan metalers of Moonsorrow rocked fans with their heavy sound as they donned fake blood all over their faces and body. Sweaty and smelly doom metal never sounded so killer. While the gentleman of Tyr, from the Faroe Islands, had an outstanding set as they won over some New York City fans. The band had the ability to incite mosh pits with one song and cause couples to slow dance with another. Estonian group Metsatoll kicked off the incredible night of European metal, which was a true treat for the NYC crowd. Korpiklaani’s North American Tour in support of their album ‘Manala’ has ended, but you can check out our photos of the New York gig below. The band is currently on tour in Europe.
