Black Veil Brides Announce ‘Legion of the Black’ Film Global Pay-Per-View

Frazer Harrison, Getty Images Black Veil Brides shot a film to accompany their upcoming ‘ Wretched and Divine ‘ album and fans will get a chance to check it out this weekend as part of a global pay-per-view event. The movie is called ‘ Legion of the Black ‘ and it serves as an extension of the album. The flick is built around eight songs from the disc, with the band members appearing in performance segments. The group recently premiered it just prior to the holidays in Los Angeles and will let fans in other parts of the world check it out Sunday night (Jan. 6). ‘Legion of the Black’ will be available over a 24-hour period beginning at 12AM PT/3AM ET at the band’s Facebook page , with fans having the option to share movie clips, answer trivia, take polls and potentially speak with members of the band. To pre-order the Sunday Pay-Per-View for $4.99, click here . The film and album concept come from the mind of singer Andy Biersack. The vocalist told Billboard , “I’ve always been a big fan of utopian, future, new world stories — ‘V for Vendetta,’ comic books, graphic novels. It’s not really an anti-religion story; more than anything it’s based on the concept of the five of us in the band as these Che Guevara, rebellious leaders unified against this big church/government bad guy.” The vocalist says that after an initial false start on the album, producer John Feldmann asked him what was inspiring him and they took his short story idea and started working it into an album. ”This is new ground for the band,” says the singer. “It’ll take a little bit of time for people to understand what this is, so the intent is to take it as many places as we can.” The ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones’ album is due Jan. 8. Pre-orders are being taken here . Fans can also check out a trailer for the ‘Legion of the Black’ film and introduction from Biersack here . Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson Discusses Triumphs + Pitfalls of His New Aircraft Business

Karl Walter, Getty Images When he’s not on the road touring, Iron Maiden ‘s Bruce Dickinson is running his Wales-based business  Cardiff Aviation, Ltd. , an aircraft maintenance company he launched last year. Now, Dickinson is starting the new year with a solid base for his new operation with hopes for a prosperous future. When he first announced the business, Dickinson had speculated that it could bring in hundreds of jobs to the local community. In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal , Dickinson reveals that his fledgling operation currently employs 40 people, but expects to expand to between 100-125 employees by next summer. “That’s not bad,” says the singer, who admits that even he deals with “the wonderful world of practicality.” However, even with the expected growth, there is an incredible amount of patience and the ability to temper expectations needed to run the business. The vocalist explains, “Clearly aviation is a highly regulated industry, and it does take time for the wheels to grind.” Dickinson says it is somewhat frustrating knowing that they have some resources to push forward, but must wait on the red tape before proceeding. He adds, “[We have] 5 million dollars worth of heavy engineering machinery … We have enough stuff in our hanger to build an airliner, let alone maintain it.” However, first there are a number of certifications that need to happen. However, Dickinson is confident in his future and says he feels he has the two key attributes needed to succeed. He explains, “You’ve got to have a vision, but you’ve also got to have common sense.” Years of trial and error have also helped. He recalls one of his first ever enterprises, dating back to his youth. “One of my earliest ventures was when I was 9 years old. I realized there was a shortage of pencils at school, so I started Rent-a-Pencil,” recalls Dickinson. “But I made a fundamental mistake. Everybody stole my pencils.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/iron-maidens-bruce-dickinson-offers-start-up-business-advice/” title=”Next: Bruce Dickinson Offers Start-Up Business Advice” align=”center”]

Axl Rose on Feud With Slash + Duff McKagan: I’m Surviving This War, Not the One Who Created It

Robert Cianflone, Getty Images Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose is certainly one of the most beloved, but also detested musicians in rock history. It’s almost impossible to run into anyone who doesn’t have an opinion on Rose as a human being, but the GN’R icon recently partook in an interview that went pretty deep into the mind of one of rock’s most polarizing figures. In Rose’s in-depth interview with USA Today , the singer attributed the lengthy process of writing the ‘Chinese Democracy’ album to mental abuse caused by former Guns guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan . “[Slash and McKagan] did more damage to my ability as a writer,” claims Rose. “To those three, it was all crap. It beat me down so much. At the time of the [‘Use Your Illusion’] tours, Slash and Duff said, ‘You’re an idiot, you’re a loser.’ I didn’t write for years. I felt I was hindered for a very long time. I was also trying to figure out what I wanted to say, when it’s right to be venting and when you’re digging a bigger hole. Lyrics on ‘Chinese’ took a long time.” Rose also explored the idea of how the classic GN’R lineup could have lasted longer. “Maybe if we could have worked together in the way ‘Appetite’ was put together. I was really naïve,” says the singer. “I thought the success of that record would bring everyone together more. It did the exact opposite. They got success and wanted to run in their own directions. I thought they’d go, ‘Whoa, it did work.’ But they wanted to do their own huge bigger success off of Guns.” On the possibility of a truce amongst the classic members, Rose comments, “I feel that ball’s not in my court. I’m surviving this war, not the one who created this war.” Additionally, when asked about fans who consider the current Guns N’ Roses lineup as illegitimate, the singer simply responded, “They can think whatever they want. I’m not interested in their opinions.” Rose says that the band is currently writing and working on their next release, and added, “[The next album] will come out sooner.” Check out the full Axl Rose interview at USAToday.com .
