Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com 3 Doors Down have enjoyed a decade-plus of hit after hit after hit, and now the Mississippi rockers will package all of their favorites onto one best-of disc, with a trio of new tracks adding a little something special to the release. The set, simply titled ‘Greatest Hits,’ is due Nov. 19 from Republic Records and features such favorites as the group’s first smash single ‘Kryptonite’ through standouts like ‘It’s Not My Time,’ ‘When I’m Gone,’ and ‘Here Without You.’ As for the new songs, fans are already embracing the track ‘One Light,’ which made its live debut earlier this year as part of the band’s Republican National Convention appearance. The set also features the new songs ‘There’s a Life’ and ‘Goodbyes.’ The ‘Greatest Hits’ collection comes after 3 Doors Down reluctantly parted ways with guitarist Matt Roberts earlier this year. Roberts has dealt with circulation problems for years, and things had worsened to the point that he realized he could no longer keep up with the grueling tour schedule the band follows each year. Chet Roberts, unrelated to Matt, has stepped in to fill the vacated slot. Photo by Anne Erickson Hollywood Undead and former vocalist Deuce didn’t part on the best of terms, but the singer alleges that things only escalated after he left the band with at least two of the band members beating him up outside of a Hollywood club. As a result, the vocalist has now taken legal action against his former bandmates. TMZ reports that after sharing the story of the attack earlier this year , Deuce consulted with attorneys and is ready to move forward with a lawsuit against his former cohorts claiming assault and battery. Following the incident, the singer told Loudwire , “You know when six guys come up and go after you, when you’re drunk – I don’t really see that as a tough lose. If they want to grab one person and I grab one person, I’m a small dude I weigh 140 pounds, if they want to go one on one fine – not six guys jumpin’ you out of nowhere. I don’t know what kind of move that is.” Deuce cited Dylan “FunnyMan” Alvarez and Jorel “J-Dog” Decker in his police report earlier this year, claiming that the pair continually punched and kicked him outside the Angels & Kings club in Hollywood on May 25. He’s suing for unspecified damages. The vocalist also claimed that there were a pair of men videotaping the attack as he was being beaten. Back in April, Deuce released his debut solo disc, ‘ Nine Lives ,’ which has yielded the hits ‘America’ and “I Came to Party.’ [button href=”http://loudwire.com/deuce-candidacy-president-video-i-came-to-party/” title=”Next: Deuce Showcases ‘I Came to Party’ Video” align=”center”]
Vevo.com After watching Three Days Grace ‘s new video for ‘ Chalk Outline ,’ it might be worth it to steer clear of the general vicinity of singer Adam Gontier. The clip for the band’s latest chart-topping single focuses primarily on the singer walking the streets of Brooklyn, similar to the Verve’s Richard Ashcroft in the ‘ Bittersweet Symphony ‘ video years ago. While nothing bad happens to Gontier as he belts out the song through the streets, there are a few altercations and accidents that occur around him. The Shane Drake-directed clip is also fun for fans of the band, as the group’s other members make cameos in the background of scenes. ‘Chalk Outline’ is the No. 1 rock hit from the band’s newly released, ‘ Transit of Venus ‘ album. Drummer Neil Sanderson previously stated of the disc , “We went for a tighter, more articulated sound on this record. The music we were writing was a little more intricate than in the past, and we’ve been experimenting with new instruments … We wanted to present these new ideas concisely without going over-the-top in ambiance and overall production.” Look for Three Days Grace supporting the album this fall with club dates beginning Oct. 8 in Dallas. Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Since Baroness ‘ catastrophic Aug. 15 bus accident in England, the members of the band now find themselves in the rehabilitation process after living through a 30-foot drop while their bus was traveling at a speed of around 50mph. Thankfully, it seems that the incident will only act as a pause for Baroness instead of an ending, as explained to us by frontman John Baizley , who recently offered Loudwire an exclusive interview about the crash, his injuries and his recovery. In a conversation that bordered an hour in length, Baizley expressed his remarkable will to pass through the incredibly painful healing process, and hopes to be back touring with Baroness as soon as humanly possible. We’ll soon be bringing you the entirety of our fascinating dialogue with Baizley, who spoke in great detail about the rehabilitation process, learning how to play guitar again with a severely damaged arm, remaining a loving and attentive father + much more. In a small portion of our interview with Baizley, the musician and artist described his struggles with pain since the bus wreck and his intensive surgery to repair a severely broken arm and leg. “I’ve been living with it now for close to seven weeks,” says Baizley. “It’s a physical pain, a corporeal pain that won’t go away. I’m still not quite so far from the injury that I’m without pain. There’s a 16, 17-inch scar going down my arm that hasn’t healed yet. There’s a small army of metal pieces inside which are not only keeping me together, but are also beginning to react with the organic parts of my body. At the same time, it’s important for me, given he nature of my injuries, that I’m as mobile as I possibly can be. So I’m trying to move what doesn’t want to be moved. All the while, this stuff is trying to heal up, so there’s that pain.” He continues, “Along with that comes some very extensive nerve damage, which extends from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my fingertips. I essentially had all of the musculature and all of the nervous system removed from my arm for eight hours during the surgery. Once it was replaced, you’re dealing with scar tissue and you’re dealing with some parts which aren’t going to work again. The top half of my arm has no physical feeling to it anymore, and won’t. When I first came out of surgery, there was this very, very extreme and incredibly painful pins and needles feeling in my hand, which scared me at first because I was saying to myself, ‘Oh God, what if this lasts forever? What if everything I touch hurts?’” “I’ve been broken down to the basic physical functions of a 2 year old, and since the accident I’ve been trying to reclaim myself from all directions, and it doesn’t happen without pain. It’s still so fresh for me that I’m still waiting for the first moment of my life where just sitting here doesn’t hurt.” Stay tuned for our the rest of our extremely in-depth interview with Baroness’ John Baizley, where the accomplished artist goes into further detail about his injuries, the crash itself, how the experience affected his views on death + much, much more. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it. Ebet Roberts/Frank Micelotta, Getty Images Alternative rockers Dinosaur Jr. have had a long and successful career, but things almost went another route when their frontman J Mascis was asked by Kurt Cobain to join Nirvana back in the day. In a new interview with Spin , Mascis remembers the invitation in July of 1989 at a club in New Jersey. “Nirvana was playing Maxwell’s and after the show I was talking to Kurt and [Sonic Youth’s] Thurston Moore,” Mascis recalls. “Kurt said, ‘You should join my band.’ I think he was sick of the guy Jason [Everman] who was in the band at the time, and thought I should play guitar. I didn’t think much about it. Later, there was also talk of playing drums on a single they were doing [‘Silver’], but it ended up being [Mudhoney drummer] Dan Peters.” After splitting up in the late ’90s, Dinosaur Jr have been back together since 2005. Their tenth studio album, ‘I Bet on Sky,’ was recently released. Nirvana, meanwhile, recently topped our list of the 10 Best Grunge Bands of All Time.
