Tomahawk, ‘Oddfellows’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

Ipecac Tomahawk are a unique band in more ways than one. Besides honing an incredibly eclectic and experimental style, Tomahawk happen to be comprised of modern rock heavy hitters from legendary bands such as Faith No More , Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, the Jesus Lizard and Helmet . The band recently released their fourth studio album, ‘Oddfellows,’ and we’re proud to debut Tomahawk’s new music video for the album’s title track exclusively here on Loudwire. Faith No More / Fantomas / ex-Mr. Bungle legend Mike Patton formed Tomahawk in 2000 shortly after Faith No More called it a day in 1998 (they’ve since reunited to tour). Housed within Patton’s record label, Ipecac Recordings, Tomahawk is comprised of former Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison, ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier and bassist Trevor Dunn, whose resume includes stints in Mr. Bungle, Fantomas and Melvins among others. The video for ‘Oddfellows’ complements Tomahawk’s intense and strange sound perfectly, splattered with captivating animation on top of performance footage from the musical collective. Directed by Vincent Forcier and shot in black and white, the video is filled with animation of ghosts, demented cartoon faces and the band dangling as hangmen, along with distortions of the Tomahawk members while they perform ‘Oddfellows.’ For fans of experimental rock and unique video accompaniments, take a few minutes to check out Tomahawk’s clip for ‘Oddfellows.’ To purchase a copy of Tomahawk’s ‘Oddfellows’ album, click here . Adler Singer Jacob Bunton Offers Inside Look at Slash Collaboration ‘Just Don’t Ask’

Facebook: Jacob Bunton When former Guns N’ Roses  drummer  Steven Adler launched his new band Adler , it offered a fresh start for the musician. But the stickman still has one very significant tie to the past on his ‘Back From the Dead’ album — a guest appearance from his former bandmate  Slash on the track ‘Just Don’t Ask.’ Speaking exclusively with Loudwire, Adler singer Jacob Bunton tells us, “Steven and Slash have been close friends since they were kids, so the chemistry between the two is amazing.” Of the song ‘Just Don’t Ask,’ Bunton recalls, “When we started recording the album ‘Back From The Dead’, Steven asked Slash if he would play on record. We weren’t sure at first which song to have him play on. Halfway through recording the record, I wrote the song ‘Just Don’t Ask’ and we all looked at each other and said ‘this is the perfect one.’ Slash is one of the most soulful rock guitarist of all time and everything he does is so tasteful. I love his solos on the hard rockin’ songs, but we all agreed that the melodies he creates on ballads are some of the most memorable in music. He came to the studio, plugged in and just nailed it. He’s also one of the coolest mutherf—ers you’ll ever meet!” And speaking of meeting Slash, the vocalist says the guitarist knows how to make an entrance. He explains, “We recorded at Jeff Pilson’s studio in his house. Slash showed up a few minutes late for the session and said he had gone to the wrong house. Can you imagine getting a knock on the door at 10:00 at night and when you open the door, Slash is standing there?” Take a listen to Adler’s ‘Just Don’t Ask’ featuring Slash in the player below. The album, ‘Back From the Dead,’ which earned a stellar review from Loudwire when it dropped in November, is available at iTunes . Listen to Adler’s ‘Just Don’t Ask’ Featuring Slash ? Soundgarden Celebrate Release of ‘King Animal’ With Sold-Out Show in New York City

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire A little more than a year ago, Soundgarden played a show at a venue just outside of New York City that has a capacity of well over 15,000, but for the release of their latest album, ‘ King Animal ,’ the band decided to get a little more intimate. As part of a string of small-venue shows , Soundgarden celebrated the release of ‘King Animal’ at New York City’s Irving Plaza with a sold-out crowd of just over 1,000 screaming fans on Nov. 13. Taking the stage a few minutes after 9 PM, Soundgarden tore into a jamming rendition of ‘Incessant Mace.’ In a set that lasted nearly two and a half hours, the band played songs like 1989′s ‘Gun’ and the Grammy Award-winning ‘Spoonman’ that were sure to please long-time Soundgarden fans. Throughout the night, the band also played several new tracks like ‘Non-State Actor,’ ‘Eyelid’s Mouth’ and their latest single, ‘Been Away Too Long.’ Song after song, Soundgarden rocked Irving Plaza with no signs of slowing down. Only addressing the crowd a handful of times, frontman Chris Cornell was more worried with delivering a memorable performance than chit-chatting with fans. During his first break, Cornell explained to the crowd that this was not just a concert, but it was “kind of a record release party.” During another break, he poured his heart out to the fans and thanked them for allowing Soundgarden to get back together and create new music. The band sounded just as tight as they ever did in the 1990s. From guitarist Kim Thayil’s face-melting shredding to bassist Ben Shepherd’s insane finger-picking, to drummer Matt Cameron’s ferocious style, Soundgarden took every single note they played extremely seriously. This was even more apparent with Cornell’s intense and methodical focus on his beautiful lyrics and dynamic vocals. Albums like ‘King Animal’ and live shows like the gig at Irving Plaza – not to mention their appearance on CBS’ ‘ Live on Letterman ‘ – don’t come around very often. If this is what happens when you take a 16-year-long break, perhaps more bands should follow Soundgarden’s lead. Soundgarden Nov. 13 Set List: ‘Incessant Mace’ ‘Gun’ ‘Jesus Christ Pose’ ‘By Crooked Steps’ ‘Outshined’ ‘Room A Thousand Years Wide’ ‘Spoonman’ ‘Taree’ ‘Been Away Too Long’ ‘Worse Dreams’ ‘My Wave’ ‘Ugly Truth’ ‘Fell On Black Days’ ‘Hunted Down’ ‘Drawing Flies’ ‘Non-State Actor’ ‘Black Saturday’ ‘Blow Up the Outside World’ ‘Eyelid’s Mouth’ ‘Blood on the Valley Floor’ ‘Rowing’ Encore: ‘Slaves and Bulldozers’ Second Encore: ‘Rusty Cage’ Check Out Photos of Soundgarden Performing at Irving Plaza in New York City Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Liz Ramanand, Loudwire
