GWAR Announce Second Leg of U.S. ‘Fate or Chaos’ Tour With Warbeast + Wilson

Praise be to our intergalactic lords and masters of GWAR , as the alien metallers have announced a second leg of their ‘Fate or Chaos’ tour. The string of U.S. dates will be shared with the bands Warbeast and Wilson, who will open for GWAR during the 16-date tour. GWAR launched their ‘Fate or Chaos’ tour in late 2012, bringing DevilDriver, Cancer Bats and Legacy of Disorder along for the ride, resulting in a solid bill of acts. The quality continues this April when the traveling freak show begins again. GWAR front freak Oderus Urungus put down his crack pipe for a moment to lend us his thoughts about the future dates: As you humans amuse yourself with your mundane holidays, it has been a time of intense activity for GWAR, as we record our 13th studio album– the first one with our new Scumdog brother, Pustulus Maximus! We begin this years festivities with the second and final leg of our Fate or Chaos tour, so everybody who missed the first leg can see Cyber-Jesus get his f—ing ass handed to him. Then it’s back in the studio to work on all the hulking war machines we shall need on our devastating, brand-spanking new tour, after the album drops at the end of the summer! Can you believe I said drop? How f—ing stupid! Warbeast vocalist Bruce Corbitt also shared his excitement about the tour: This will be the second time Warbeast has toured with GWAR.  I have to admit, I’m even more excited this time around. GWAR is more than a metal show… it’s a metal experience. We’re just happy to be part of that experience again for a few weeks. We also can’t wait to play our new material from our upcoming second album ‘Destroy’ in front of their insane fans! Stay tuned for upcoming news on GWAR’s next album and check out the new ‘Fate or Chaos’ tour dates below. Tomahawk, ‘Oddfellows’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

Ipecac Tomahawk are a unique band in more ways than one. Besides honing an incredibly eclectic and experimental style, Tomahawk happen to be comprised of modern rock heavy hitters from legendary bands such as Faith No More , Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, the Jesus Lizard and Helmet . The band recently released their fourth studio album, ‘Oddfellows,’ and we’re proud to debut Tomahawk’s new music video for the album’s title track exclusively here on Loudwire. Faith No More / Fantomas / ex-Mr. Bungle legend Mike Patton formed Tomahawk in 2000 shortly after Faith No More called it a day in 1998 (they’ve since reunited to tour). Housed within Patton’s record label, Ipecac Recordings, Tomahawk is comprised of former Jesus Lizard guitarist Duane Denison, ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier and bassist Trevor Dunn, whose resume includes stints in Mr. Bungle, Fantomas and Melvins among others. The video for ‘Oddfellows’ complements Tomahawk’s intense and strange sound perfectly, splattered with captivating animation on top of performance footage from the musical collective. Directed by Vincent Forcier and shot in black and white, the video is filled with animation of ghosts, demented cartoon faces and the band dangling as hangmen, along with distortions of the Tomahawk members while they perform ‘Oddfellows.’ For fans of experimental rock and unique video accompaniments, take a few minutes to check out Tomahawk’s clip for ‘Oddfellows.’ To purchase a copy of Tomahawk’s ‘Oddfellows’ album, click here . In addition, Tomahawk are kicking off a tour in support of ‘Oddfellows’ tomorrow night (Feb. 12) in Seattle. See the dates below the video. Tool Drummer Danny Carey Suggests New Album Will Drop in 2013, Talks About Vespa Crash

Frazer Harrison, Getty Images Tool fans were disappointed to say the least when singer Maynard James Keenan announced that there would be no release from the band in 2013. The modern experimental legends have been working on a new album for some time, and drummer Danny Carey says, along with a bunch of other news, that a 2013 release is still planned. When it comes to the upcoming Tool album, Carey stated that it is still planned to dropin 2013. “Sometime this year … that’s all I can say,” Carey tells TheRockFM about the record. “The sooner the better for us. We’re working everyday but you can never predict it, honestly. We’re really excited about it so I hope all the fans will be too.” Carey also reports that bassist Justin Chancellor has been the “main driving force” to get the album completed. Carey also told the radio station that he plays drums on the soundtrack to the upcoming Superman film ‘Man of Steel.’ In addition, he adds that Tool have a massive amount of live material that may be released on CD or DVD form in the future. “We have tons of stuff recorded,” says Carey. “I hope we do make that happen one of these days. We have lots of video stuff too, we could do a DVD or two whenever we get around to it. We’re kind of trying to focus on the new thing now, so we’ll go back at some point and do it.” In a separate interview with David Farrier , Carey spoke about an epic 20-minute piece being constructed for Tool’s next record. “We’re still – believe it or not! – still working on it,” the drummer says about the piece. “[Laughs] It’s like an ever-evolving thing, it’s probably going to turn into a thing that’s like, a big trilogy type of feel to it, sort of like ‘Disposition’ and ‘Intension’ and ‘Triad,’ like on the ‘Lateralus’ record or something. It will probably be over a 20-minute piece when it’s all finished, so it will be a good part of the record. We’re dealing with it in sections, but it’s coming together really well, we’re having lots of fun working on it, that’s for sure.” Finally, Danny Carey revealed that he was, in fact, the mystery Tool member that sustained injuries from what was reported as a Vespa accident . “It’s been tough lately because I cracked four ribs,” Carey begins, “broke three of them on a motorcycle the other day, so I am kinda laid up at this point, it’s making it really painful to play. It’s not an easy thing to do. [Laughs] … it was just over in the San Fernando Valley, I was just turning to go on the freeway, and I think I hit some antifreeze or oil or something, and the wheels just slipped right out from under me, and I just hit the pavement really hard. [Laughs] … Yeah, I’m still in one piece anyway, but I don’t know how lucky I was the way I feel right now [Laughs]. It’s pretty painful, but some painkillers and some scotch will get you through it.” Tool have also just announced a cluster of tour dates in Australia and New Zealand. Stay tuned for more news on the band’s upcoming record. Tool 2013 Australia + New Zealand Tour Dates: 04/27 – Melbourne, AUS – Rod Laver Arena 04/30 – Adelaide, AUS – AEC Arena 05/03 – Sydney, AUS – Allphones Arena 05/06 – Brisbane, AUS – Entertainment Centre 05/08 – Auckland, N.Z. – Vector Arena [button href=”http://loudwire.com/tool-danny-carey-backs-school-of-rock-kids-offers-album-update/” title=”Next: Danny Carey Jams With School of Rock Kids” align=”center”]

Adrenaline Mob Announce ‘Coverta’ Covers EP + 2013 North American Tour Dates

Elm City Music Adrenaline Mob are going the covers route before approaching their next official studio album. The band’s latest EP is titled ‘Coverta,’ featuring eight rocking cover songs. The timing works out well for the supergroup, as they’ve also announced their first North American tour dates of 2013. Brian ‘Head’ Welch on Possibly Joining Korn for Full U.S. Tour + New Album: ‘Anything is Possible’

Rick Diamond, Getty Images Former Korn guitarist and current Love & Death frontman Brian ‘Head’ Welch has slowly been working his way back into the Korn camp ever since his surprise appearance at the 2012 Carolina Rebellion Festival, where Welch performed ‘Blind’ with the rest of Korn. Now, with Head set to join Korn at Rock on the Range in Ohio and several European dates this year, the possibility of Welch’s permanent return to Korn is becoming more and more real. Along with Welch’s surprise ‘Blind’ performance and Korn’s new tour dates featuring the guitarist, fellow strummer James ‘Munky’ Schaffer told us during a Loudwire  exclusive interview that he wanted ‘Head’ back in the band eventually. In a new interview with spoken with Rolling Stone, ‘Head’ shares his excitement for his upcoming tour dates with Korn, along with his desire to return to the band. “Everyone is broken in this world,” Welch tells Rolling Stone . “There’s so much divorce, hate and unforgiveness. For people to see this [Welch touring with Korn], I think it’s just really uplifting. I never thought it would happen, and I’m not sure they did either. The fans just love it, because a lot of the fans back in the day were like, suicidal, and from broken homes and abuse. They looked up to us like their family. And to see their family split up was hard on them. To get it put back together, there is a joy around the people who care about it.” When asked about the possibility of a full-on U.S. tour with Korn, Welch seemed open to the idea while remaining realistic. “We’re going slow,” Welch says. “We’re hanging out when I’ve got time, but I’ve got my album out, and they’re busy doing their stuff. But I’d say anything is possible right now.” Finally, when Welch was asked about recording another album with Korn, the guitarist simply states, “Again, I’d say anything is possible.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/fan-granted-wish-to-spend-a-day-with-korn/” title=”Korn Meet Fan for ‘Make-A-Wish’ Foundation” align=”center”]
