Lamb of God Book First 2013 Show at Spain’s Resurrection Festival

Epic Lamb of God ‘s future remains murky while the remainder of Randy Blythe ‘s manslaughter trial looms, but the band is making sure to think positively, and that includes booking their first show of 2013 in hopes that their frontman will eventually be cleared of charges. The band revealed in a tweet their participation in the 2013 Resurrection Festival in Spain this August. The three-day music weekend runs Aug. 1-3 in Viviero, Spain. On top of the band’s tweet, the festival created a new teaser clip showing off the participants in this year’s event. Featured in the clip were mentions of Killswitch Engage , D.R.I., Comeback Kid, Millencolin and yes … Lamb of God. In addition, the bands from the first festival announcement were featured in a full bill at the end of the clip. Those acts include Slayer , Bad Religion , Black Flag and Trivium . Blythe returned to the Czech Republic earlier this month to answer to charges of his alleged involvement in the death of a fan at a show in 2010. The frontman was accused of pushing the audience member off the stage, with the fall causing a fatal head injury that presented itself well after the show took place. A delay in the trial was called so that additional witnesses could testify. Before returning home, Blythe visited the prison  where he was held last year. He’s expected back in court in Prague on March 4. Green Day Featured in Two Documentaries Screening at South By Southwest Film Festival

Spencer Kaufman, Loudwire Those checking out the film festival portion of Austin’s South by Southwest will get plenty of Billie Joe Armstrong on the big screen. The Green Day frontman will appear in two separate movies, with ‘Broadway Idiot’ receiving its premiere during the event. The Doug Hamilton-directed ‘Broadway Idiot’ focuses on Armstrong’s involvement in the ‘American Idiot’ stage production, which actually starred the vocalist on select dates during its run. A trailer for ‘Broadway Idiot’ can be seen below. The other Armstrong-starring flick is ‘ ¡Cuatro! ,’ which Green Day shot while they were recording their recent album trilogy. A highlights special aired on several cable networks in December, with the full film recently screening at the Aspen X Games as part of their film festival. In addition to the two Green Day-related flicks, there are a number of other music acts featured in films screening at South by Southwest. Dave Grohl ‘s ‘ Sound City ‘ will air at the festival, coinciding with the singer’s participation as the music portion of South by Southwest’s keynote speaker. Billboard also reports that ‘Artifact,’ a 30 Seconds to Mars documentary, will air during the film festival. The movie details the band’s battle with their record label and the subsequent recording of their hit album, ‘This Is War.’ The movie was directed by Bartholomew Cubbins (aka singer Jared Leto). The festival will also feature movies centered on Bikini Kill singer Kathleen Hanna (‘The Punk Singer’) and a Snoop Dogg movie following his spirituality called ‘Reincarnated.’ Watch the ‘Broadway Idiot’ Trailer [button href=”http://loudwire.com/dave-grohl-keynote-speaker-2013-south-by-southwest-conference/” title=”Next: Dave Grohl Named 2013 South by Southwest Keynote Speaker” align=”center”]

Brian ‘Head’ Welch on Possibly Joining Korn for Full U.S. Tour + New Album: ‘Anything is Possible’

Rick Diamond, Getty Images Former Korn guitarist and current Love & Death frontman Brian ‘Head’ Welch has slowly been working his way back into the Korn camp ever since his surprise appearance at the 2012 Carolina Rebellion Festival, where Welch performed ‘Blind’ with the rest of Korn. Now, with Head set to join Korn at Rock on the Range in Ohio and several European dates this year, the possibility of Welch’s permanent return to Korn is becoming more and more real. Along with Welch’s surprise ‘Blind’ performance and Korn’s new tour dates featuring the guitarist, fellow strummer James ‘Munky’ Schaffer told us during a Loudwire  exclusive interview that he wanted ‘Head’ back in the band eventually. In a new interview with spoken with Rolling Stone, ‘Head’ shares his excitement for his upcoming tour dates with Korn, along with his desire to return to the band. “Everyone is broken in this world,” Welch tells Rolling Stone . “There’s so much divorce, hate and unforgiveness. For people to see this [Welch touring with Korn], I think it’s just really uplifting. I never thought it would happen, and I’m not sure they did either. The fans just love it, because a lot of the fans back in the day were like, suicidal, and from broken homes and abuse. They looked up to us like their family. And to see their family split up was hard on them. To get it put back together, there is a joy around the people who care about it.” When asked about the possibility of a full-on U.S. tour with Korn, Welch seemed open to the idea while remaining realistic. “We’re going slow,” Welch says. “We’re hanging out when I’ve got time, but I’ve got my album out, and they’re busy doing their stuff. But I’d say anything is possible right now.” Finally, when Welch was asked about recording another album with Korn, the guitarist simply states, “Again, I’d say anything is possible.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/fan-granted-wish-to-spend-a-day-with-korn/” title=”Korn Meet Fan for ‘Make-A-Wish’ Foundation” align=”center”]
