Lamb of God Book First 2013 Show at Spain’s Resurrection Festival

Epic Lamb of God ‘s future remains murky while the remainder of Randy Blythe ‘s manslaughter trial looms, but the band is making sure to think positively, and that includes booking their first show of 2013 in hopes that their frontman will eventually be cleared of charges. The band revealed in a tweet their participation in the 2013 Resurrection Festival in Spain this August. The three-day music weekend runs Aug. 1-3 in Viviero, Spain. On top of the band’s tweet, the festival created a new teaser clip showing off the participants in this year’s event. Featured in the clip were mentions of Killswitch Engage , D.R.I., Comeback Kid, Millencolin and yes … Lamb of God. In addition, the bands from the first festival announcement were featured in a full bill at the end of the clip. Those acts include Slayer , Bad Religion , Black Flag and Trivium . Blythe returned to the Czech Republic earlier this month to answer to charges of his alleged involvement in the death of a fan at a show in 2010. The frontman was accused of pushing the audience member off the stage, with the fall causing a fatal head injury that presented itself well after the show took place. A delay in the trial was called so that additional witnesses could testify. Before returning home, Blythe visited the prison  where he was held last year. He’s expected back in court in Prague on March 4. Korn’s Jonathan Davis Receives U.S. Flag Flown in Afghanistan From Air Force Supervisor

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Korn frontman Jonathan Davis is an avid supporter of the U.S. military, as evidenced with his continued USO meet-and-greets and performances for U.S. servicemen and women and his participation in the recent ‘ Wounded Warriors ‘ short film. The singer’s support continued during a special meeting set up at the ShipRocked event in late November. United States Air Force Shift Supervisor Michael Bowser attended the cruise performance, where he was finally able to meet his hard rock hero and present him with a flag flown over an Afghanistan base on Sept. 11, 2012. Video footage of the presentation may be seen below. Bowser said he also collected flags for Five Finger Death Punch and Sevendust , who were also among his favorite bands, to present to them, as well. He told Davis, “Hopefully this can give back to you guys what you’ve given to me, because if it wasn’t for rock music I wouldn’t get through deployment.” A moved Davis responded, “I know lots of people and I know the s— you all are going through. This is amazing. This will definitely be displayed at our studio.” Just last fall, Davis was presented with the uniform of Marine Lance Cpl. William H. ‘Billy’ Crouse IV by his brother Ryan Rothman. Crouse was killed during a bombing in Afghanistan. It’s expected that Bowser’s flag will be displayed alongside Crouse’s uniform and other gifts that band has received from the military over the years. Dave Grohl Reveals Full Sound City Players Lineup for Sundance Film Festival Gig

Justin Sullivan, Getty Images After spending the last day teasing some of the people who would be joining him at the Sundance Film Festival , Dave Grohl has revealed all of the guests that will make up his Sound City Players lineup for the special show. As previously reported, Grohl will be playing a show in Park City Utah Jan. 18 to coincide with the premiere of his new ‘Sound City’ documentary , which is based on the legendary Hollywood recording studio. The singer already teased a photo with him performing alongside Queens of the Stone Age ‘s Alain Johannes and Foo Fighters ‘ Taylor Hawkins . Plus, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor had confirmed his participation in a Salt Lake City newspaper. Now Grohl has revealed the full lineup in a new tweet . It includes many of the ‘Sound City’ soundtrack contributors, including his Foo Fighters bandmates Rami Jaffe, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear along with his onetime Nirvana partner Krist Novoselic . In addition, Grohl’s Queens of the Stone Age pals Johannes and Chris Goss are taking part. The rest of the lineup includes a number of familiar names. Dave Grohl to Perform With Corey Taylor + Others During Sundance Film Festival Set

Theo Wargo / Kevin Winter, Getty Images The ‘Sound City’ soundtrack is definitely star-studded, so when Dave Grohl revealed that he would have several guest stars join him for a concert celebrating the premiere of his ‘Sound City’ documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, there was naturally a lot of questions about who would be part of the Sound City Players . Now, after a little bit of arm twisting, it’s so far been revealed that Corey Taylor , Taylor Hawkins and Alain Johannes will be among those joining Grohl in Park City, Utah, for the gig on Jan. 18. Grohl has been updating fans about his band practices, but finally bowed to a little pressure with a Facebook update that stated, “Pics or it didn’t happen, you say? Right now, band practice.” Accompanying the quip was a studio photo of Grohl performing with his longtime Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Queens of the Stone Age multi-instrumentalist Alain Johannes. In addition, the Salt Lake Tribune  confirmed the participation of Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor. According to the paper, Taylor himself revealed his participation. The singer has enjoyed the Sundance experience in the past, taking the stage with the all-star covers band Camp Freddy several years ago. The fact that Grohl is performing with either Hawkins or Johannes should come as little surprise given the length of the relationship and association the singer has kept up with both musicians. Plus, the fact that both artists appear on multiple cuts on the ‘Sound City’ soundtrack makes them a natural fit for the show. For those trying to connect the dots with other potential guests, Hawkins appears on songs that feature Stevie Nicks , Rick Springfield and Fear’s Lee Ving on the soundtrack, while Johannes contributes to tracks featuring Ving and Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme .
