Sister Sin Unleash Video for ‘Hearts of Cold’

Swedish metal band Sister Sin recently revealed their new high octane video for ‘Hearts of Cold,’ the second single from their October 2012 release ‘Now and Forever.’ Directed by Eric Richter, the video plays out a story similar to the true crime that inspired the song, revolving around the gruesome tale of Juha Veikko Valjakkala and Marita Routalammi. Valjakkala and Routalammi are the Finnish couple who allegedly entered Sweden and killed a family of three after a fight over a bike. The two ruthless outlaws would go on to reportedly inspire the 1994 film ‘Natural Born Killers.’ In the exclusive clip seen below, frontwoman Liv Jagrell talks about the meaning behind the video, calling the crime one that truly impacted the band’s home country of Sweden. “For us in Sweden, we don’t have these kind of things so often,” recalls Jagrell. “Sweden was very frozen by this.” Jagrell went on to say that after being incarcerated, Valjakkala’s evil continued, explaining, “This guy, they put him in prison and I think he escaped like five times.” The video puts a new spin on the song and Jagrell gets to put her acting skills to the test throughout the video, playing the female role in the infamous duo, check it out above. Jagrell and Sister Sin are gearing up for a North American tour run that kicks off in February with some dates with Doro before initiating their own headlining run. Check out the dates below. Sister Sin Cancel Remaining 2012 Tour Dates as Singer Liv Jagrell Undergoes Vocal Surgery

Facebook: Sister Sin Swedish metal band Sister Sin have called off the rest of their dates on their 2012 tour because frontwoman Liv Jagrell will have to undergo surgery on her vocal cords. Jagrell won’t take missing these dates lightly. In an interview with Loudwire, she expressed her passion about being on the road and being onstage. “I’ve learned that I love to be on tour and I love to be onstage and I only feel that I am myself. I’m one hundred percent Liv when I’m onstage. I feel that’s the only time I’m just me” Jagrell told us. The band released a statement regarding Jagrell’s condition and the cancellation of dates via their Facebook page : “Hey all! We´re coming to you with some bad news today…. -Liv has had issues with her voice starting way back in 2007-2008 & it turned out to be a node on her vocalchords. To avoid surgery she has been very strict with warmups, vocal exercises and what not but never the less things have taken a turn for the worst lately. After re-visiting her doctor last week it became apparent that surgery is now needed & unavoidable. -So it is with great regret we are forced to cancel the announced shows and planned dates for the rest of the year. This is very common amongst singers & expected recovery is only two months so we will be back stronger than ever in early 2013 and for the upcoming US tour in February. Cant wait to see you all again on the road & thank you all for your understanding & support! Much Love /SS” The band was supposed to hit the road in promotion of their latest record ‘ Now and Forever .’ Sister Sin are still scheduled to hit North America in 2013 with Doro. Sister Sin Unleash Video for ‘End of the Line’

Victory Records Swedish metal outfit Sister Sin have unleashed a gritty new video for the new single, ‘End of the Line,’ off of their upcoming album ‘Now and Forever.’ In our exclusive interview with frontwoman Liv Jagrell, she told us all about the new track, saying, “It’s a really good first single, I think, because the whole album is in that style. It shows a different side of Sister Sin because we actually have some keyboards in this song and on some of the other songs, too, and we worked both on the dynamics and on the melodies in a [different] way than the previous album.” Jagrell adds, “On this album and on that song we thought a little bit out of the box and experimented and tried to go out of what our comfort zone is. I think it turned out really good, I’m happy with the album and that song.” The hard hitting video was filmed at an old nuclear reactor testing facility in Stockholm, Sweden, and it intertwines scenes of the band rocking out with narrative shots of Jagrell being held in an institutional room. The personal trainer by day and hard-rocking vocalist by night also shows off some of her strength as she gets sweaty, effortlessly doing some sit-ups and pull-ups in the clip. As far as the lyrics of the Sister Sin tune goes, the songstress states, “It’s about the kinds of scams, political and religious scams and people everywhere trying to tell us the world is going to end but we really just want to try to live today and not to live for tomorrow or for things that might happen. It’s satirical a little bit towards all of those people trying to say what we should do and not do.” Sister Sin’s new album ‘Now and Forever’ arrives on Oct. 22, and can be pre-ordered here in various packages.
