Suffocation vs. Aborted – Death Match

After tons of votes and an incredibly close race between two of brutal death metal’s founding acts, Suffocation snagged a win to claim their second consecutive victory. Belgian death metal veterans Aborted have just released the track ‘Vermicular, Obscene, Obese’ as a single from their 2012 full-length album, ‘Global Flatline.’ The punishing tech-death act now look to dethrone Suffocation and embark on their own quest for the Death Match Hall of Fame. Most Anticipated 2013 Metal Tour – Readers Poll

Some of metal’s top acts are making sure to get things cranked back up to 11 in clubs, theaters and arenas over the next few months and we want to know which tour that you most want to check out. Veteran rockers Anthrax will team up with thrash icons Exodus , High on Fire , Municiple Waste and Holy Grail on the Metal Alliance trek, but they have plenty of competition for your metal attention. Cradle of Filth will headline a package tour featuring The Faceless , The Decapitated and The Agonist . Meanwhile, In Flames will get things rolling again by headlining a multi-band trek that also features Demon Hunter , All Shall Perish and Battlecross. And  Hatebreed ‘s forthcoming trek finds the band sharing the bill with Shadows Fall , Dying Fetus and The Contortionist . There are also a number of bills that feature two main acts. For instance, The Devil Wears Prada and As I Lay Dying connect for a pretty impressive double bill of blistering licks. Down and Warbeast figure to be one of the hot tickets of early 2013. Every Time I Die has booked dates with the Acacia Strain . Thrash metal vets Testament team up with Overkill . And for those who like their metal a little proggy, then check out the Coheed & Cambria / Between the Buried and Me double bill. Plus, 2012′s breakout band Gojira is hitting the road with Devin Townsend. In addition, the always excellent Meshuggah are crossing the pond for another North American tour to kick off the year. Hatebreed Singer Jamey Jasta Talks Cover Art for ‘The Divinity of Purpose’ in New Album Trailer

Clay Patrick McBride, Razor & Tie Hatebreed fans are looking forward to the band’s sixth studio album ‘The Divinity of Purpose’ due out next year on Jan. 25 via Razor & Tie Records. In the album trailer below, frontman Jamey Jasta talks about the cover art of the new record by saying, “I feel like with everything being so digital and being in this computer age where everything can be found on the Internet, I felt like it would be cool to do a cover which is a painting. We’ve never had that before with Hatebreed.” Jasta goes on to say, “We wanted the title ‘The Divinity of Purpose’ to spark thought and have people interpret it and go, “What does that mean?” or “What could it mean?” The lead single off the record is the recently released ‘Put It To the Torch.’ The album ‘The Divinity of Purpose’ is the band’s follow-up to their 2009 self-titled release. Hatebreed recently wrapped up a stint on tour with Lamb of God and In Flames; check out photos of their stop in New York City here . Hatebreed To Embark on 2013 U.S. Tour With Shadows Fall, Dying Fetus and The Contortionist

Hatebreed ‘s new album, ‘ The Divinity of Purpose ,’ will be released Jan. 25 in Europe and Jan. 29 in the United States, and now the band has announced a headlining U.S. tour kicking off in late January. Joining Hatebreed on the 2013 trek that kicks off Jan. 26 in Flint, Mich., are Shadows Fall ,  Dying Fetus and the  Contortionist . VIP packages and pre-sale tickets will be available tomorrow (Nov. 29) beginning at 1PM ET at this location . Hatebreed guitarist Frank Novinec says, “Don’t miss our first tour in support of our new album ‘The Divinity of Purpose.’ A variety of songs from our 6+ album career (new and old) and our trademark different set lists every night is what everyone can expect.” The Feb. 1 show in Los Angeles will be a special record release signing and concert event. Tickets purchased for the show at the Roxy will include a copy of ‘The Divinity of Purpose’ along with access to a special meet n’ greet/signing with the band which will take place at 5PM at Soundcheck Hollywood (located at 8872 West Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles). Before kicking off the North American tour next January, Hatebreed will play two Stillborn Fest shows in December then head to Europe in January 2013 where they will headline the EMP Persistence Tour.
