Hollywood Undead’s Johnny 3 Tears: New Single ‘We Are’ Inspired by America’s Youth

Ethan Miller, Getty Images Hollywood Undead continue to pull in new fans with each album and the fact that their latest single ‘We Are’ is connecting with a certain demographic of their fanbase is no coincidence. One of the band’s emcees, Johnny 3 Tears, tells Loudwire that he specifically wrote the chorus with the fans in their teens and early twenties in mind. He explains, “I guess especially when you’re out on the road, you talk to a lot of kids. A large majority of our fanbase are 16- and 17-year-old kids and they get up in their 20s and stuff, and the vast majority of them I make it a point to speak [to] and get to know as many of them as I can. And I suppose I hear a lot about their difficulties in this day and age. It’s depressing. I’m older now and kind of out of touch with some of the things that present themselves. And I kind of got the idea from talking to kids as much as I could. They go through what they go through and I always find that inspiring. I think it’s one of the more difficult times in anyone’s life and that was what I wrote the chorus about and we kind of filled in the gaps from there.” Loudwire happened to speak with Johnny on the day of the Newtown, Conn., school tragedy and he relayed how different things are for kids of today than when he was growing up. He explained, “When I was a teenager, that stuff didn’t happen. I never heard of anything like that and now it seems to be, and I’m not just narrowing it down to one thing, but these things seem to happen all the time. I don’t know. I really feel for the group of kids that are walking around that have to deal with this stuff.” He went on to add, “Obviously, I look at it from a different vantage point. I have a kid of my own and it’s definitely scary man, the way the world is going, and I really don’t know how things get this messed up. But certainly a song like ‘We Are’ is more important now than it was when I was younger. I feel a full-on empathy for what kids are going to have to go through cause it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. In fact, it seems quite the opposite. It’s pretty sickening sometimes, man.” ‘We Are’ is the lead single from Hollywood Undead’s forthcoming album, ‘ Notes From the Underground ,’ due in stores Jan. 8. Pre-orders for this disc are currently being taken here . Stay tuned for our full interview with Johnny 3 Tears about Hollywood Undead’s ‘Notes From the Underground’ album. Former Vince Neil Bassist Alan Vine Warns of Legal Action Over IRS Woes

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com / Facebook: Alan Vine Alan Vine, a former bassist and personal assistant for Motley Crue ‘s Vince Neil , is threatening legal action against his former employer if he doesn’t help resolve his current tax issues. Vine, who was a member of Neil’s band in the early 2000s, claims that the singer’s manager wrongly reported his salary, thus leading the IRS to look into his financial background, and he’s asking for some help in clearing things up. Vine spells out his troubles in an open letter to Metal Sludge , claiming that his work with Neil close to a decade ago has landed him in some hot water. Vine says he’s reached out to Neil on several occasions, but has been blown off each time and is not even sure if the singer is aware. However, despite his reluctance to take legal action, it’s now come to a point where something must be done and he’s taking his issues public in hopes that Neil will respond before legal action must be pursued. In his letter, he states: I was Vince’s Bass player and personal assistant at one time. I have been trying to straighten out a tax issue with him for several years now to no avail. I didn’t want to resort to attorney to sue Tenvin Inc., but after several blow offs I CAN’T STAND IT ANY MORE!!! Vince’s scumbag business manager Burt Stein reported me to the IRS (1099) for making a boatload of $$$$ which I was never paid. I didn’t want to sue him, but now he leaves me no choice. He is now taking $$$ away from my two boys that I raise by myself. I am totally disgusted on how a guy like Vince, who could fix this with a simple phone call and avoid the court system, can’t be bothered. I am a stand up guy who never did Vince wrong EVER!!!! I could of sold him out many times over but NEVER DID!!!! The IRS has been holding my tax returns for 7 years now on my Child Tax Credit for Hollywood who is now 7 and also the tax credit for my youngest son Indrid Wolfgang for 4 years as well… DO THE MATH ON THAT!!!!! I grew up listening to Motley Crue and couldn’t believe I was working for one of my heroes and it has come to this. I am sure Vince is completely in the dark about this and has no Idea. I have tried to approach Vince about this SEVERAL times and was met with the same blow off. He told me to tell people when I worked for him. Tonight was the last straw. I contacted Dana Strum via email to get on the list for tonight show in Coconut Creek, Fla. because being a single dad I can’t afford tickets. Dana responded and was gracious enough to leave 2 tickets and 2 after show passes. Thanks Dana. The show was good. You and Zoltan and Blando are rock solid … thanks … After the show was over, I went with the after show passes to the waiting area and Vince’s Guy came and said, ‘Sorry folks band left.’ I got pissed and said, ‘Sure dude, I used to do you job.’ I pulled out my old laminate and said tell Vince he owes me $ and stop bull sh—ing these fans and just say what’s true, like sorry Vince can’t be bothered, have a nice day. Then I left the venue and was driving through the parking lot by the backstage area and saw the band leaving and proceeded to yell through the gate, ‘You f–ing a–hole. I’m gonna sue you,’ and a few other vulgarities. I have mad respect for Motley Crue, Sixx, Tommy, Mick, and Vince, too. It just sucks that my kids have to suffer because of this. I bet if I had a huge set of fake t–s and was dumb as a box of rocks because of the bleached blond hair and had a pair of hotdog lips, I would have had a better result. ‘LIVING ON A JET MAKING LOVE TO SOMEONE ELSE’S DREAM’ … ha, what a joke. Vince, Dana has my email if you want to fix this. Otherwise I am getting a lawyer Monday. Respectfully, Alan Vine [button href=”http://loudwire.com/vince-neil-apology-gun-control-twitter-battle/” title=”Next: Vince Neil Offers Apology Over Gun Control Debate” align=”center”]

Watch ‘Wounded Warriors’ Film Starring Korn’s Jonathan Davis

YouTube Korn fans now have a chance to see singer Jonathan Davis in a different environment, as the rocker’s recent short film, ‘ Wounded Warriors ,’ is streaming online. The 17-minute film follows Davis as he tours Germany’s Ramstein Air Base. The movie, directed by Sebastien Paquet, finds Davis experiencing several of the tasks that soldiers go through on a daily basis. The singer says, “I’m just in shock. This film is not about me. It is about all the troops and what they sacrifice to keep our life going. I am truly grateful for every single one of them.” During his time at the base, Davis gets a tour of the C130J Hercules Aircraft from airmen of the 37th Airlift Squadron and an explosives demonstration from the 886th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordinance Disposal Flight. In addition, Davis spent part of the trip visiting with soldiers at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and talking with them about their sacrifices. “Reality’s a bitch,” says Davis in the film. “You’re watching the news and you’re seeing everything that’s going on and It doesn’t really hit you until you actually get there and see the actual faces and the actual equipment and you see what’s going on. I really do think that people should go meet these guys and see what goes on. [They’d] be a little bit more appreciative of what they have.” The film made its debut Nov. 10 at the GI Film Festival in Hollywood and won the “Audience Choice Award.” It will make its television debut on the Pentagon Channel as part of the GI Festival next May. New Artist of the Year – 2012 Loudwire Music Awards

As the 2012 Loudwire Music Awards continue, we take a look at the artists keeping things fresh. Sure, there are a lot of bands we all know and love, but the real exciting thing about music is making new discoveries and watching the upstarts you had never even heard of at the beginning of the year emerge to rock your radio or playlist right next to those big time acts. With that in mind, it’s time to select 2012′s Best New Artist. It’s an eclectic group of rockers on our list this year. Five of our ten acts have already established themselves in the rock and metal worlds with other projects but decided it was time to test out a new vehicle. Our other five acts are true newcomers that made significant inroads toward a bright future. Take a look at our 10 Best New Artist nominees and read about what made 2012 a breakout year for them. Then vote for your favorite in the poll below: ? Candlelight Red The seeds of Candlelight Red ‘s promise were sewn in late 2011 with their album ‘The Wreckage,’ which spawned the singles ‘Closer’ and their cover of Roxette’s ‘She’s Got the Look.’ After hopping in the studio with Sevendust’s Morgan Rose producing, things only picked up steam with the release of their ‘Demons’ EP, led by the disc’s title track. ? Dead Sara Childhood friends and musical partners Emily Armstrong and Siouxsie Medley hit on something special after adding bassist Chris Null and drummer Sean Friday to their group Dead Sara . The band’s self-titled debut featured the breakout single ‘Weatherman,’ the anthemic ‘We Are What You Say’ and the stirring ballad ‘Sorry For It All.’ ? Deuce After breaking free from Hollywood Undead, the rap-rock artist Deuce thrived with the ‘Nine Lives’ album, which spawned the breakout single ‘America’ and such fan favorites as ‘I Came to Party’ and ‘Nobody Likes Me’ (which featured a guest appearance by Falling in Reverse’s Ronnie Radke). ? ? Falling in Reverse Former Escape the Fate singer Ronnie Radke re-emerged on the rock scene with his new band  Falling in Reverse , who enjoyed solid returns for their debut disc, ‘The Drug in Me Is You.’ It spawned the singles ‘I’m Not a Vampire,’ ‘Raised by Wolves,’ ‘Good Girls, Bad Guys’ and the title track. Plus, the group’s live energy made them a popular concert draw over the past year. ? Huntress Jill Janus emerged as one of the brightest (or shall we say darkest) new voices in the world of metal, pulling from both thrash and doom metal influences. Her band Huntress started garnering attention in late 2011 with the track, ‘Eight of Swords.’ In 2012, the track ‘Spell Eater’ kept the momentum going from the album of the same name. ? Kyng Kyng  garnered critical acclaim in late 2011 with their debut album ‘Trampled Sun’ featuring singles like ‘Falling Down’ and ‘Trails in Veins.’ And in 2012, they were true road warriors for the entire year, most recently touring with the one and only Megadeth. ? ? Love and Death After several years of being billed as a solo artist, former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch gave credit where it was due by deciding to switch to the band moniker Love and Death to show the unity of the musicians. The group garnered some attention with their single ‘Chemicals’ and picked up some momentum late-year single ‘The Abandoning.’ Look for their debut album, ‘Between Here and Lost’ in 2013. ? Otherwise Las Vegas rockers Otherwise enjoyed a breakout year with their ‘True Love Never Dies’ album. ‘Soldiers’ had a long run at radio earlier in 2012 and the hard-edged ‘Full Circle’ and melodic ‘I Don’t Apologize (1000 Words)’ showed some of the range the up-and-comers have. ? ? Storm Corrosion One of the more interesting collaborations of 2012 was that of Opeth singer-guitarist Mikael Akerfeldt and prog rock’s golden boy, Porcupine Tree leader Steven Wilson. The duo formed the band Storm Corrosion and issued a self-titled album back in May that could be best described as avant-garde experimentalism. ? Tremonti What started as a passion project for Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti turned into a surprise hit record for the rocker. ‘All I Was’ spawned the major radio single ‘You Waste Your Time,’ while ‘So You’re Afraid’ was picking up spins late in 2012. ? ? Voting for the 2012 Loudwire Music Awards closes on Jan. 15 at 11:59 PM EST. Fans can vote once per hour, so keep coming back to make sure your favorite band wins!
