Mark Tremonti and His Band Visit U.S. Troops Stationed in Germany

American Forces Network – Photo Courtesy of Russell Toof Over the years as a member of Creed and Alter Bridge , guitarist Mark Tremonti has taken the opportunity to play for and meet members of the military, and now that he’s out on the road with his own self-titled band, that tradition continues. Tremonti and his bandmates Wolfgang Van Halen, Eric Friedman and Garrett Whitlock made a detour to the Warrior Zone in Heidelberg, Germany on Feb. 5, where they took the time to sign some autographs, talk to members of the military and take a few photos. Tremonti himself also spoke with American Forces Network’s Russell Toof about his experiences visiting the military. In a video interview (posted below), the Tremonti frontman says there was never any hesitation once a visit was requested. “Who’s going to say no to that,” asks the guitarist-singer. “We definitely wanted to come out here to see everybody.” He added, “Anytime you can make someone happy that’s away from home and bring any kind of joy to any rock and roll fans that are out here, away from their home, away from their country, it’s great to help out in any way we can.” Tremonti says he’s made it a point over the years to invite military personnel to their shows to meet and visit with them. He concluded, “I know they’re doing everything they can for us. I know they’re away from their families and friends, so it’s gotta be tough. So we respect the hell out of ‘em.” Watch Mark Tremonti’s Interview With American Forces Network [button href=”http://loudwire.com/tremonti-wish-you-well-video/” title=”Next: Watch Tremonti’s ‘Wish You Well’ Video” align=”center”]

Tremonti Unveil Startling ‘Wish You Well’ Video

YouTube Tremonti left fans contemplating what was to come with a teaser for the ‘Wish You Well’ video earlier this week and now that the clip has arrived, it is every bit as spooky as you would expect. The video alternates between Tremonti and his band jamming their latest single and a young boy rocking out on his guitar from a rooftop. How the boy got there is what makes the clip interesting, as the video starts with a camera monitoring the boy playing guitar in a near abandoned room. After a few moments a hulking trench-coated man knocks on the door and leads the stunned youth up the stairs to the rooftop. After whispering something to the boy, then gesturing that he play to his surroundings, the man steps away and lets the boy jam. The rest of the clip finds interspersed, quick-cutting images of the man traveling from house to house and his journey to finding the young boy. The end of the video starts almost as it began with the man arriving at the boy’s door and knocking, though this time we see the apartment number 12. Could this be a clue to something bigger? Tremonti did tease a code in his trailer for the new video, but how does the number figure into the coordinates? It remains to be seen, but a press release on the video stated that the lead up to the clip was just a small part of a future design that the guitarist and his band have in store for their fan base. Stay tuned for more from Tremonti, but in the interim catch the ‘Wish You Well’ video below. Mark Tremonti Reveals Plan to Keep Wolfgang Van Halen in His Band

Mary Oullette, SheWillShootYou.com / Kevin Winter, Getty Images Mark Tremonti raised a few eyebrows in the Van Halen camp when he recently commented that he’d like to make Wolfgang Van Halen ‘s addition to his self-titled band a permanent thing. But the guitarist says that VH fans shouldn’t worry about this signaling Wolfgang’s exit, as he plans to work around the Van Halen commitments. Tremonti tells Metal Express Radio (excerpted by Van Halen News Desk ), “We’re talking about doing this arrangement for good. Van Halen will always be his priority, whenever they are touring. When he’s not touring, he’ll be with us. He will write and play on the records and, if he is on tour with Van Halen, we will find somebody that he is comfortable with filling his shoes.” Tremonti recently revealed that the younger Van Halen was part of their initial thought process for their current release, but he was otherwise occupied at the time when they started recording their record. With Van Halen off the road and with Tremonti’s Creed and Alter Bridge bassist Brian Marshall bowing out just prior to their tour, Wolfgang became a last-minute addition to the band’s lineup. The group just finished their European tour , with no further dates on the itinerary at present. Meanwhile, Van Halen remain off the road as well while guitarist Eddie Van Halen recovers from the surgery he had to deal with diverticulitis earlier this year.
