Black Sabbath to Release New Album ’13’ in June

Tim Whitby, Getty Images Black Sabbath waited until it officially became Jan. 13 in their native England before revealing that their highly anticipated new studio album will be titled ’13.’ The heavy metal legends spent the past year working on the effort, which is being produced by Rick Rubin. The band also has announced that the album, which they initially targeted for April , is now expected to arrive at a still-to-be-determined date in June. And moreover, they’ve revealed that  Rage Against the Machine ‘s Brad Wilk served as drummer during the recording sessions. Black Sabbath will issue the disc via their original label Vertigo worldwide, with Vertigo/Republic offering the record in the United States. ’13′ will be the band’s first original album with Ozzy Osbourne as vocalist since 1978′s ‘Never Say Die!’ Though meant to be a reunion of the original four members, a contract squabble has kept drummer Bill Ward out of the picture. Osbourne’s stickman from his solo band, Tommy Clufetos, filled in  on tour during Ward’s absence last year, but the aforementioned Wilk handled the drumming for the group for the upcoming album. Black Sabbath have already announced a number of dates for 2013, beginning with a trek through Australia and also including a headlining spot on this year’s Ozzfest in Japan. More dates are expected and will be announced shortly. Ozzy Osbourne Celebrates 64th Birthday Recording Vocals for New Black Sabbath Album

Twitter: @OfficialOzzy Yesterday (Dec. 3) was Ozzy Osbourne ’s birthday and if you’ve spent any time wondering how the Prince of Darkness celebrated his 64th, all you had to do was follow him on Twitter to find out. Ozzy posted the photo seen here of him working in the studio along with the tweet: “Spending my birthday tracking vocals on the new Black Sabbath album.” Although various reports have speculated that several songs for the Sabbath disc have already been recorded, guitarist Tony Iommi said that’s not the case in a recent interview. On ‘The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show’ (via Blabbermouth ) Iommi cleared things up, explaining, “We’ve written 15 songs and we’ve played them all. But now, at the moment, we’re recording them.” He continued, “We recorded them at my house first, in England, just as demos, but now we’re doing them for real. So we’re about six tracks in now, at the moment.” Osbourne also recently went on record talking about the writing and recording process, calling it a lot of fun in comparison to their earlier years when the drugs, alcohol and egos got in the way. He talked about the music taking center stage, stating, “So what it boils down to now is the music — and that’s what got us where we are in the first place. We have come through the other side, we’re still able to work together, and that’s where the enjoyment comes from. It’s been a lot of fun making this record.” Ozzy certainly looks like he’s having fun in the studio … even while working on his birthday! Ozzy Osbourne’s Son Jack Osbourne Marries Lisa Stelly in Hawaii

Frazer Harrison, Getty Images A few days after he took to Twitter to laugh off rumors of his impending nuptials, Ozzy Osbourne ‘s son Jack made them come true by walking down the aisle with his new bride, actress and model Lisa Stelly. The UK tabloid Hello! was on hand to witness the ceremony, which took place in Hawaii on Sunday (Oct. 7) — just two days before Jack’s mom Sharon celebrates her 60th birthday  (Oct. 9), and a little more than 30 years after she and Jack’s dad Ozzy tied the knot in Maui. According to Hello!, the guest list was appropriately exclusive with fewer than 50 attendees on hand — but it was, of course, an Osbourne family event, with Jack’s sister Kelly serving as one of the bridesmaids and both of the famous elder Osbournes on hand to celebrate his wedded bliss. The wedding caps a tumultuous year for Jack, who celebrated the birth of his and Stelly’s first child in April 24, then dealt with his multiple sclerosis diagnosis just a few weeks later. “Even when I was at the hospital, we were discussing the plans,” Stelly was quoted as saying in an earlier report. “It’s going to be great. After we had the baby we decided we didn’t want to waste any more time.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/ozzy-osbourne-celebrate-sharon-60th-birthday-the-talk/” title=”Next: Ozzy to Celebrate Sharon’s 60th Birthday on ‘The Talk'” align=”center”]

You may remember Sharon Osbourne’s on-air breakdown over her son  Jack Osbourne  earlier this year while co-hosting ‘The Talk.’ Jack had just been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and was soon invited as a guest on ‘The Talk’ to speak candidly about his condition. Jack Osbourne has not been officially confirmed to appear on ‘The Talk’ for his mother’s 60th birthday celebration, but since surprises have been promised by CBS, he very well may drop by. Sharon Osbourne’s ‘Fabulous 60th Birthday Extravaganza’ will air on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
