David Draiman’s Device: First Single ‘Vilify’ Leaks

Facebook – Device In this day and age in the music industry, it’s hard for bands to keep songs under wraps before their official release. Disturbed singer David Draiman ‘s new band Device are no exception, with the first single ‘Vilify’ off their self-titled debut hitting YouTube today (Feb. 17). Listen below. Draiman himself acknowledged the leak via a Twitter post, even including the YouTube link for his fans to hear the song. “It’s out there, so I might as well share it,” tweeted the singer in his usual all caps. As for the song itself, ‘Vilify’ features the rapid-fire vocals Draiman has delivered with Disturbed for more than a decade. Musically, the aggressive tune boasts industrial rock and electronic elements, as Draiman has indicated when he began talking about the direction of Device’s music. Lyrically, Draiman sings of a relationship gone bad, with a chorus that declares, “When you vilify / You begin to nullify / Everything that we’ve ever done / You’re f—ing with my head.” All told, Disturbed fans will likely embrace ‘Vilify,’ as it incorporates Draiman’s trademark vocals while adding a fresh sound to his repertoire. The leak of the song should only increase anticipation for Device’s self-titled debut album. The disc drops April 9 and features such guest musicians as Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler, System of a Down’s Serj Tankian,  Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows and Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, among others. ‘Vilify’ officially hits radio on Tuesday, Feb. 19, but, with Draiman’s permission, you can listen to the song below and let us know what you think of the tune in our comments section. Disturbed vs. Avenged Sevenfold – 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl, Quarterfinals

2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl Quarterfinals Disturbed against Avenged Sevenfold may be the toughest battle of the 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl quarterfinals, as both bands won decisively against their opening round competition. Disturbed’s ‘Indestructible’ proved to be exactly that when facing off against Trapt’s determination anthem, ‘Headstrong.’ Recording just under three quarters (72 percent) of the total vote, Disturbed emerged victorious. And as we move forward, there’s little doubt that ‘Indestructible’ makes for a great football anthem, with David Draiman singing about “carrying the colors” and defending an oath. But do they have what it takes to be the “master of war” over Avenged Sevenfold? ‘Seize the Day’ is a pretty powerful message, so it’s no wonder their fans seized control of the voting fairly early on to distance themselves from Shinedown’s ‘Devour.’ The band received just shy of 64 percent of the final vote to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl. Will Avenged Sevenfold’s fans continue to “seize the day” and help the band advance to the semifinals? This should definitely be a tight matchup, so every vote counts. Art of Dying Dedicate ‘Raining’ Lyric Video to Three Days Grace

Ethan Miller, Getty Images / Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com Art of Dying are digging deeper into their ‘Vices and Virtues’ album by issuing a new lyric video for ‘Raining’ off their breakout disc. The track holds a special place for the band as it features a guest turn from former Three Days Grace vocalist Adam Gontier , and the band has decided to dedicate the release to Gontier and his former group. ‘Raining’ follows the prior ‘Vices and Virtues’ singles ‘Die Trying,’ ‘Get Thru This’ and ‘Sorry.’ In a mailing to fans, Art of Dying discussed the decision to make the dedication and why just beyond Gontier’s guest appearance that they chose to salute the whole band. The statement reads as follows: In light of Adam’s departure from the band last week, we are dedicating this lyric video to Adam, Brad, Neil, Barry and all of the Three Days Grace fans around the world. They have moved us with their music and we wish all of them the best on their new musical path’s and life journeys.??The story behind the recording: As many of you know Cale and Adam are cousins, and grew up together in Ontario. Adam was kind enough to sing the second verse and do some harmonies with us in the studio. It’s been such an honour having Adam on our record and learning from his unique style and benevolent nature. In a solo posting at the band’s Facebook page , Art of Dying frontman Jonny Hetherington added, “You created powerful music that inspired us in so many ways. Wishing you the best on all of your musical paths and life’s journeys.” Those with a keen eye might also recognize another famous rocker in the video, as Disturbed ‘s David Draiman turns up with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance. Art of Dying have a close association with Draiman and his Disturbed bandmate Dan Donegan, as the two rockers run Intoxication Records, which signed the group and opened the door to their current success. Disturbed’s David Draiman Questioning Parents Who Bring Infants to Movie Theaters

The tragic movie theater shooting in Colorado has brought up a number of issues, including the fact that there were small children at the midnight showing of the new ‘Batman’ film, ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ The often outspoken Disturbed singer David Draiman took to his Twitter account to add his two cents to the discussion, first posting a CNN report using the children that were in the theater at the time
