Chris Jericho, Scott Ian, Zakk Wylde, Lzzy Hale + More Star in 2013 Revolver Golden Gods Spot

Revolver Lord knows that many of the musicians taking part in this year’s Revolver Golden Gods have done their fair share of interviews overs the years, but in the commercial for the 2013 ceremony, they get to experience life from the other side of the microphone in what amounts to the world’s most metal press conference. The awesome and hilarious commercial finds host Chris Jericho concluding a press conference and then taking questions from “the media.” However, the media for this event are some very well known faces, with everyone from Anthrax ‘s Scott Ian to Halestorm ‘s Lzzy Hale throwing questions at the host. The spot offers a who’s who of the hard rock and metal genres, with Ian, Five Finger Death Punch ‘s Jeremy Spencer, Zakk Wylde , John 5 , In This Moment ‘s Maria Brink, Hale and Sebastian Bach all having speaking parts while various other members of Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm and other bands can be seen in the background. The commercial in general offers a humorous look at not only some of the talent playing this year’s ceremony, but also mentions some of the major names like Metallica and Rob Zombie that will be receiving honors. The fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards show takes place at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia May 2 and will air on AXS TV, XBOX Live and Facebook . For ticket information, click here . Rob Zombie Reveals Title + Release Date for Upcoming Album

Jag Gundu, Getty Images Rob Zombie has been talking about his next studio album for quite some time, but now comes word that the disc has a title and is expected this April. In addition, Zombie revealed a firm release date for his upcoming film, ‘ The Lords of Salem ,’ which will closely follow the new album. The disc, titled ‘Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor,’ is now on schedule for an April 23 street date courtesy of Zodiac Swan / T-Boy / Ume. Zombie worked closely with acclaimed rock producer Bob Marlette on the set. ‘The Lords of Salem’ film will follow in theaters April 26, though the music on the album is completely separate from the movie. Last fall, Zombie  revealed of the new disc, “It’s stylistically sort of a little bit of everything. Fans of my really old stuff will love it because there’s a certain aspect of it that’s very reminiscent of that. But it is also very looking to the future. It’s hard to describe music to somebody if they haven’t heard it, but I feel like it’s the best of all the things I’ve done. I’ve finally found a perfect match between the old stuff I did and then new stuff. That’s the way it sounds to me anyway.” The veteran rocker added that he’s got a special feeling about the new record, explaining, “It seems to happen every couple of years or every 10 years or every five years or whatever, you have a moment when it all comes together. Not that the other records are bad, but not every record can be like the most inspired event in your life. But for some reason, this one feels like it. The songwriting, the sound of it, the vibe, the production — it’s special.” The album details came with the announcement that Zombie would be honored at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods Awards on May. 2. Pantera vs. Korn – 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl, Quarterfinals

2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl, Quarterfinals We’ve got two distinctively different sounding hard rock tracks advancing to the quarterfinals of the Loudwire Rock Bowl in Pantera ‘s thrashy favorite ‘F—ing Hostile’ entering the arena against Korn ‘s style-shifting rocker ‘Freak on a Leash.’ Pantera’s ‘F—ing Hostile’ barely made it out of the first round with 53 percent of the vote against stiff competition from Drowning Pool’s ‘Bodies.’ But make no mistake, Pantera are definitely ready to hype up their listeners with this classic. You can just envision an NFL defensive end unleashing untold destruction in the backfield thanks after getting amped to the pent-up energy of this track. Korn, meanwhile, had things a little easier with ‘Freak on a Leash’ outlasting System of a Down’s ‘Psycho.’ Earning just shy of 59 percent of the final tally, the band is ready to unleash their ‘Freak’ on Pantera, much like an onrushing cornerback blitz. So which track deserves to advance as the better football anthem? That’s for you to decide. Vote for either Pantera’s ‘F—ing Hostile’ or Korn’s ‘Freak on a Leash’ between now and this coming Wednesday (Jan. 30) morning at 10AM ET in the poll below. Slipknot vs. P.O.D. – 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl, Round 1

It’s time to get amped up for some football and in our 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl, we’re attempting to find out which track gets you most in the mood for gridiron aggression. This first round matchup pits the masked rockers of Slipknot against the “Southtown” favorites, P.O.D. While Slipknot offer plenty of unrelenting tracks, ‘Wait and Bleed’ is arguably the best fit the most for football. As Corey Taylor sings about the hate raising up inside of him, the listener can definitely apply that to the competition at hand. And given the violent nature of football, there will definitely be some bleeding coming soon. P.O.D.’s hit song ‘Boom’ has long been a sports anthem, with singer Sonny Sandoval seemingly calling out the competition after a particularly hard hit. As the song says, “ Boom! / Here comes the boom! / How you like me now? ” There’s no mistaking that sentiment when it comes to football. Which one of these rock warriors will be left standing when Round 1 is complete? That’s up to you to decide. Listen to both tracks below, then vote in the poll provided. You can also vote in the next 2013 Loudwire Rock Bowl matchup by clicking on the red button at the bottom of this post. Voting in Round 1 concludes Sunday, Jan. 27, at 11:59PM ET.
