A Perfect Circle Drummer Josh Freese Announces His Departure From Band

Virgin Longtime A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese has announced his departure from the band. The group performed a handful of shows in 2011, but Freese was unable to accompany APC due to a scheduling conflict concerning  Weezer , with whom Freese was touring member of from 2009-2012. Freese now seems to have other priorities, as he officially announced his exit from APC earlier today (Oct. 2). For those unfamiliar with the career of Josh Freese, he’s played drums for seemingly every band ever. Along with A Perfect Circle, Freese has played with acts such as Nine Inch Nails , the Offspring , Motley Crue , Paramore, the Vandals, Guns N’ Roses + many more. The prolific drummer has also appeared on nearly 400 albums. Along with Weezer, Freese currently drums for Devo and Sublime with Rome. Freese tweeted the following from his personal account: After 13 years, I’ve decided to leave @ aperfectcircle with no plans of returning. Down Perform With Former Bassist Rex Brown in Dallas

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire / Ethan Miller, Getty Images Down and former bassist Rex Brown reunited onstage Tuesday night (Sept. 18) for the first time since the musician exited the band last year. The veteran rocker and longtime cohort of Down singer Phil Anselmo dating back to the Pantera years, came out to perform during the encore songs of ‘Stone the Crow’ and ‘Bury Me in Smoke’ during the group’s set in Dallas. (Watch footage below.) Brown first took leave from the band in 2009 while suffering from pancreatitis. Anselmo stated in an interview, “I gave it my all and I love Rex Brown with all of my f—ing heart and soul, but goddamnit he will not put down that f—ing bottle for any of us.” During his absence, the band had Patrick Bruders fill in for Brown and the bassist remained after Brown revealed his exit from the group last year. Brown later found a new musical home in a band called Kill Devil Hill . Down just released the first of four scheduled EPs yesterday. New Incarnation of Queensryche Allowed to Keep Using Band Name
