Love and Death Unleash New Song ‘I W8 4 U’

New Ocean Media Love and Death are certainly out to grab your attention as 2013 begins. The band has just released the new song, ‘I W8 4 U,’ an in-your-face rocker off the band’s upcoming album, ‘Between Here & Lost.’ Former Korn guitarist  Brian “Head” Welch and his band offer this slab of industrial rock sludge with a full slice of frustration and anguish on the side. The track, which features a guest appearance by Mattie Montgomery, kicks off with screaming guitars and the some electronic trudging to set the ebb and flow of the song. The hard-edged sound is contrasted perfectly with the song’s dynamic vocals, shifting between a mumbled whisper to full-on screaming at different parts of the track. Lyrically, ‘I W8 4 U’ is a study in thinned-out patience turned into complete and utter frustration as the song serves up lyrics like “ Tell me you lost it / Tell me you lost it / Whatever it takes / I won’t let him break you ” in one sentiment followed by “ Fed up with missing you / fed up of all your lies / fed up with chasing you / fed up with your disguise ” a little later. ‘I W8 4 U’ follows the band’s earlier preview of ‘The Abandoning.’ The song appears on the group’s forthcoming album, ‘Between Here & Lost,’ which is due Jan. 22. Love and Death, ‘The Abandoning’ – Exclusive Song Premiere

Tooth & Nail Love and Death , the band led by former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch , are set to drop their new album ‘Between Here & Lost’ on Nov. 19, and Loudwire is proud to bring you the exclusive premiere of the new song ‘The Abandoning.’ With the new track, it’s clear that Welch and his new crew can still deliver the aggressiveness and hard-hitting vibe that he had in Korn and pack the song with an emotional punch. With lyrics like, “ Why do I hurt myself / Why can’t I escape this hell / I am always blaming, always chasing broken dreams / I keep screaming out but no one ever hears me ,” it’s clear that the story is coming from someone dealing with inner turmoil. Head says of the track, “I like ‘The Abandoning’ because the chorus goes somewhere you wouldn’t think it would go. It’s really dark and then it opens up very melodic.” As you can tell by listening, Welch has found a musical home after going it solo following his exit from Korn. The current lineup that includes guitarist J.R. Bareis, bassist Michael Valentine, and drummer Dan Johnson really helped the guitarist see his vision to its full fruition while adding their own stamp to the music. Welch also credits producer Jasen Rauch, who also plays in the band RED, for his input into the new music. “One of the biggest changes on this album is that we connected with a great producer,” states Welch. “With my first solo album, I wanted to oversee everything myself to see if I could do this type of thing. I think some of it was experimenting and some of it was just pride, but a band really needs someone who can produce an album to make the material the best it can be. That’s what producers are there for, so that was the biggest thing, just bringing Jasen into the fold.” You can find ‘The Abandoning’ on the ‘Between Here & Lost’ album, which arrives Nov. 19. Pre-order the CD on its own or packaged in a T-shirt bundle here . Both versions come with an instant download of ‘The Abandoning.’ Listen to Love and Death’s ‘The Abandoning’ ? Brian ‘Head’ Welch ‘Really Excited’ About Reuniting With Korn for 2013 Gigs

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Korn ‘s former guitarist, Brian ‘Head’ Welch , is spending more and more time with his one-time bandmates. After saying yes to joining the band for shows overseas , it was announced earlier this week that Welch would be playing with Korn at the upcoming Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. Welch, who also just released an album with his other band Love and Death , is looking forward to balancing both of his musical loves. He tells ARTISTdirect , “This is going to be crazy for me in a great way.” Speaking about his reunion with Korn, he explains, “It’s a bit surreal because I didn’t expect it to happen. We have no hate for each other like some of these other bands that haven’t talked in years. People grew. Everyone went to different places in life. I don’t know. It was so long that I didn’t see it happening, but then when it crept up on me last May during Carolina Rebellion, I saw the emotion. Nothing else mattered except reconciliation, brotherly love, and that family feel with the guys and the fans. People were in tears. I thought, ‘This is a really good thing.’” The guitarist adds, “When they hit me up about the shows this year, to me, it was time. This is the proper time. The reason I felt like it would never happen because it wasn’t the proper time yet. As soon as the day hit when I felt it was right, it felt so good. I’m really excited about this year with them.” Welch will pull double duty over Rock on the Range weekend, as Love and Death are also part of the bill. “It’s going to be great,” he concludes. “I can’t wait to hook up with my old friends and the old fans, and it’s really cool Love and Death is opening.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/brian-head-welch-on-upcoming-korn-gigs-its-the-right-time-to-reunite/” title=”Next: Brian ‘Head’ Welch Discusses Korn Reunion” align=”center”]
