Asking Alexandria’s Danny Worsnop Offers Video Update on Torn Vocal Cords

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire Asking Alexandria ‘s Danny Worsnop is speaking, but is still on the path to recovery from a recent vocal cord tear that knocked him out of action just prior to the holidays. The band was out on tour in early December when Worsnop’s voice finally gave out, though the band was able to salvage their New York stop of the Monster Energy Outbreak tour when the vocalists for support bands As I Lay Dying , Memphis May Fire, I See Stars and Atilla stepped in to save the day. After seeking treatment from vocal specialist Dr. Sugerman, Worsnop feels he is on the path to recovery and he decided to let fans in on the process by shooting a video with the good doc showing one of his recent sessions. The clip was filmed approximately two weeks after the singer’s initial treatment. In it, the viewer gets to see Worsnop’s visit with Sugerman, the singer’s description of the flex camera and the doctor’s eventual shots of Worsnop’s vocal cords. The good news is that Worsnop has some time to rest his vocal cords as the band has finished most of their forthcoming album and have been enjoying the holiday break without any immediate dates looming. Motley Crue Members Entangled in Legal Battle Also Involving Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler

Motley.com Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler, his former management company Kovac Media Group and Tyler’s lawyer, Dina LaPolt, have been entrenched in a legal battle since October 2012, regarding issues with the singer’s stint as a judge on ‘American Idol.’ Tyler’s former management company accuses the singer’s lawyer allegedly sabotaged a multimillion dollar deal for the Aerosmith legend, resulting in Tyler’s exit from the popular TV show. As if this wasn’t dramatic enough, the Hollywood Reporter  reports that  Mick Mars and Tommy Lee of  Motley Crue are now involved in another issue between both Kovac Media Group and lawyer Dina LaPolt, adding to the whirlwind of serious allegations. Although both Steven Tyler and Motley Crue are both caught in the middle of legal battles between Kovac Media Group and Dina LaPolt, the issues involving both bands are separate. Kovac Media Group, run by Allen Kovac, claims that LaPolt’s actions cost Steven Tyler his ‘American Idol’ deal, apparently worth a total of $6-$8 million. Despite Kovac’s claim, Tyler denies any sort of sabotage took place and has taken the side of LaPolt. After Kovac filed the Steven Tyler lawsuit, the media mogul added new claims, alleging that Dina LaPolt, in an act of retaliation, has been conspiring to set up her own management company in order to steal Motley Crue, who Kovac has represented for 15 years. Much like Steven Tyler, Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars and drummer Tommy Lee are also supporting LaPolt, both Crue musicians having filed legal paperwork in an attempt to halt Kovac’s legal proceedings against their lawyer. Mick Mars first heard of the Steven Tyler case on Oct. 15, and was left aghast to say the least, claiming he was “completely shocked and mad that Motley Crue’s manager had sued our lawyer. I trust Dina implicitly, to the point that she is my trustee if I die or become disabled.” Meanwhile, Mars also says that Motley Crue never authorized a $200,000 transaction between the band’s business manager, Pam Malek, and Kovac to repay a loan that Kovac had given to Motley Crue singer Vince Neil, who is no longer a shareholder in the band. Malek has since been dismissed by the band, with Mars claiming “she was controlled by [Kovac].” Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, meanwhile, is echoing the same sentiments as Mars, and is upset that he now has to give a deposition on the matter. Slash on Scott Weiland’s Velvet Revolver Reunion Comments: ‘We’re Not Buying It’

Scott Gries, Getty Images Scott Weiland may have reunited with Velvet Revolver for a show early last year, but the singer’s comments about getting back together with the band are not exactly having the desired effect. Slash , in particular, says the band members see right through the ploy and he doesn’t expect a reunion with Weiland to ever happen. He tells Classic Rock magazine, “None of us have a clue what he’s talking about … We’re not buying it.” The guitar great says he’s reluctant to even give the former Velvet Revolver frontman the attention, but did not hold back on his feelings about the matter. Slash recently revealed that Weiland had been fired from Stone Temple Pilots and he’s confident that the singer is trying to publicly wedge his way back into a job. “I think he’s trying to pull off that trick of trying to get something else going on and we’re not buying it,” says Slash. “The door’s shut on this side and it’s probably shut on that side too, so he’s on his own. And he deserves it too.” The guitarist adds, “It also pisses me off because he’s put STP through so much s— over the years and put us through s— too when we were working with him. In 2008, that was all over with, so at this point, when he starts coming up with this stuff, it’s like, whatever.” These days Slash says he’s in a good place and is not looking to reconnect with Weiland. He concludes, “Even if I didn’t have my solo thing going on, I still wouldn’t work with him.” [button href=”http://loudwire.com/slash-talks-scott-weiland-diva-behavior-feud-axl-rose-kurt-cobain/” title=”Next: Slash Discusses Scott Weiland’s ‘Diva Behavior'” align=”center”]

Perry Farrell: 60-Song Creative Burst Is for ‘Immersive Theater’ Project

Kevin Winter, Getty Images Jane’s Addiction ‘s Perry Farrell recently spent some time recovering from surgery enjoying a creative burst that resulted in some 60 tracks being worked through, but the singer says that the material was not necessarily all for Jane’s Addiction. Farrell tells GrungeReport.net , “There’s over 60 [songs] lyrically written and then there’s probably 38 recorded, but they were not Jane’s Addiction, they were mine, for the next project.” The vocalist went on to add, “The next project’s going to be a really interesting affair, never before done in history. It’s going to be immersive theater, like a musical or play. I’m going to have Jane’s writing one record and then I’ve written another one that’s electronic. It’s theater, and in some cases, the scene takes place out in a place like Phuket or a region like that in a bar or a club, so you’d be listening to dance music.” The vocalist says he’s already written the first, dance-related portion, but the second half is still incomplete. He added, “I have many song melodies, but they haven’t been recorded or worked with Jane’s Addiction yet.” Farrell also spoke about a proposed Porno for Pyros reunion and explained that his current project has cooled him on the idea for the time being. He explains, “I love all the guys in Porno and I’ll always want to do it, but I’ve gotten so hot with this new project, now that it’s in the works and moving forward, that … something really great came up. It’s sort of like you were with a girl or with a guy, and then you guys broke apart, and you started getting in contact with each other, like, ‘Yeah, we should see each other again sometime,’ and then all of a sudden this amazing person comes into your life.” For more of the singer’s thoughts, including working with Trent Reznor , the latest on Lollapalooza and more, check out the full GrungeReport.net interview here . Vince Neil Offers Apology After ‘Gun Control’ Twitter Battle

Mary Ouellette, SheWillShootYou.com As we recently reported, Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil found himself in a Twitter battle after advocating gun control while reacting to the horrific shooting in Newtown, Conn. After withstanding a barrage of criticism and firing off additional tweets attacking those who challenged him, Neil has now posted that he was “misunderstood” and offered apologies to those he offended. The Twitter feud began when Neil tweeted the following message: “Sad day today. Prayers to all the families. Gun Control!!!” After some ill will was directed at Neil about his stance on guns, the singer responded with the following series of tweets: Why is everyone so concerned with guns? What about the CHILDREN that were MURDERED today! Get your priorities straight!! Come on people!! — Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) December 14, 2012 I did say gun control but I didn’t think 90% of you would care more about your gun than dead children!!! — Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) December 14, 2012 FUCK YOU to EVERYONE who puts guns in front of kids!! Do not come to ANY shows! You are sick!! — Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) December 15, 2012 Today (Dec. 18), however, Neil apologized for the previous tweets by explaining that he was misunderstood while reminding his Twitter followers that he tragically lost his 4-year-old daughter Skylar to cancer: I’ve been misunderstood on this subject. It was upsetting to me that the focus was not on the children and their families. I lost a child — Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) December 18, 2012 that age. I never said ban guns. I said gun control. Sorry if I offended anyone. — Vince Neil (@TheVinceNeil) December 18, 2012

Machine Head’s Robb Flynn Struck by New York City Taxi, Slams All That Remains Onstage

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire No matter where your personal musical taste falls, you’ve got to give some serious respect to Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn . Soon after an emergency surgery to take care of two hernias in the area of his giggleberries, Flynn was hit in the family jewels by a New York City cab. After a four-hour hospital stay, Flynn rushed to the Best Buy Theater to perform that night’s set with his band, leading to an onstage diss in the direction of All That Remains for apparently refusing to switch set times despite Flynn’s debacle. Machine Head have experienced an odd month during the tail-end of 2012. Along with the metal act receiving a ban from the Orlando, Fla. House of Blues by The Walt Disney Company, Machine Head have run into some bad luck with Flynn’s hernia issues. The howling frontman toughed it out and returned to his band’s tour with Dethklok , All That Remains and the Black Dahlia Murder a few weeks after his surgery, and was almost taken out again by the NYC cab in a hit-and-run. However, there seems to be yet another issue in the life of Flynn, this one situated between himself and the members of All That Remains, as evidenced by a rant directed toward the New York City audience. Flynn addressed the crowd: About two days ago we played and the All That Remains guys asked us to flip-flop with them because their singer got stuck in traffic. And you know, we’ve been flip-flopping this whole tour so we were like, “Yeah, man, you know what? It’s no big deal, we’ll flip flop.” Because that’s what you do, you look out for your brothers, right? And today, I got hit by a cab, right where I had surgery four weeks ago, in my nuts. I got clipped in a hit and run. I spent the last four hours in the f—ing hospital and unfortunately I had to f—in’ rush back here — and actually, it is fortunate, because I’m very happy to be standing on this stage — but I had to fucking rush back here because nobody could f—ing switch, man, nobody could flip-flop, because that’s just how it is, I guess. That’s how it is when you look out for your brothers some of the time. This tour, I’ll tell you what, this tour has been so f—ing insane for us, man, we’ve had so many crazy things, and even things that affected you people: Hurricane Sandy. We’ve had surgeries, we got banned by f—ing Disney, all this f—ing bulls–t and you know what? Nothing is gonna f—ing stop us, nothing is gonna f—ing stop us, because we live to do this. We’re so f—ing honored, we’re so f—ing proud to be able to do this for you. According to one of our reporters, who was covering the New York City concert, All That Remains singer Phil Labonte addressed the issue onstage, claiming that he would have agreed to swap sets if he had been informed of Robb Flynn’s situation. Was Flynn in the right to air his frustrations? Check out video footage of Robb Flynn’s speech below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
