Facebook: Three Days Grace Three Days Grace will extend their touring with newly installed singer Matt Walst beyond their two legs of shows with Shinedown . The band has just tacked on 11 new gigs that will take place during the months of April and May. P.O.D. , who have been out on the road with Three Days Grace and Shinedown, will share the stage with Three Days Grace during their May 7 stop in Corpus Christi, but their participation in the remainder of the tour has not been confirmed. The new trek launches April 17 in Portland, Maine, and runs through a May 17 finale in Youngstown, Ohio. Three Days Grace have employed My Darkest Days frontman Matt Walst as their singer since the beginning of the year, revealing in January that longtime vocalist Adam Gontier had split from the group . Walst, the brother of Three Days Grace bassist Brad Walst, intends on balancing both of his groups for the time being. Three Days Grace have expressed their desire to continue their career even though Gontier is no longer with the band and plan to address their future once touring is complete. No Comments »Phil Anselmo to Launch ‘Housecore Horror Film & Metal Festival’ in October
February 14th, 2013 Metalkult Housecore In perhaps what will serve as the most evil music festival of all time, Pantera / Down vocalist Philip H. Anselmo has collaborated with famed true crime author Corey Mitchell to create the three-day Housecore Horror Film & Metal Festival. The experimental and must-see festival promises to combine live music from some of metal’s biggest acts, along with over 70 screenings of horror, true crime and heavy metal films. The Housecore Horror Film & Music Festival will take place Oct. 25-27 at Emo’s East in Austin, Texas. Among the bands who will perform at the festival are Anselmo’s band Down , aggro-doom metal veterans Crowbar and the Texas premiere of Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals, which is an extreme metal project from the prolific vocalist. The 2,000-person capacity Emo’s East will host film screenings while the rest of the Emo’s compound will be set up with smaller screening areas for extra horror shows. HHFF is also set to launch several sideshow attractions such as “gore-lesque” routines, suspension exhibitions and rare horror memorabilia displays. The blood and guts don’t even stop there, as dozens of other horror and metal-focused venders will be dispersed throughout the complex equipped with their own scare wares. As if this festival doesn’t sound awesome enough, festival attendees will have access to the ‘Haunted Corridor,’ which will be constructed by a Texas haunted house team with creative design input from Anselmo himself, who originally co-founded the ‘House of Shock’ horror experience in New Orleans. Anselmo and Mitchell are also accepting films shot by fans, either big budget or nonexistent budget, for consideration to be shown at the festival. February 12th, 2013 Metalkult Liz Ramanand, Loudwire (2) Hollywood Undead are racking up the miles this spring, just tacking on another leg of dates that will take them through the end of May. For those keeping track, this will be their third leg of North American dates in support of the ‘ Notes From the Underground ‘ album. For the new shows, which begin April 17 in Pharr, Texas, the band will be joined by Falling in Reverse . This latest leg concludes May 25 in Louisville, Ky. Hollywood Undead also recently announced a March run that kicks off in Reno, Nev., on March 4 and concludes in Providence, R.I., on March 27. On that tour, support will be split with Dance Gavin Dance opening the first four dates of the tour and Abandon All Ships appearing on a majority of the remainder of the run. Hollywood Undead’s first tour in support of the album came in January, right after the disc was released, and fans sold out every date on the Underground trek. February 1st, 2013 Metalkult Primary Wave Music You may not see Mystic Falls, Va., on Dead Sara ‘s current itinerary, but the band will be making a visit to the fictitious town that serves as home to the hit CW series ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ The group will perform their latest single, ‘Lemon Scent,’ on the March 31 episode. In addition, the band will get in a second song, covering the Patti Smith favorite ‘Ask the Angels’ during their appearance. No further details were given as to what brings the foursome to Mystic Falls, but the performance should definitely liven up the episode. In other Dead Sara news, the band will hook up with hitmakers Muse for dates this year. After announcing the pairing last fall, the itinerary has filled out a little further. Adrenaline Mob Announce ‘Coverta’ Covers EP + 2013 North American Tour Dates
January 31st, 2013 Metalkult Elm City Music Adrenaline Mob are going the covers route before approaching their next official studio album. The band’s latest EP is titled ‘Coverta,’ featuring eight rocking cover songs. The timing works out well for the supergroup, as they’ve also announced their first North American tour dates of 2013. Adrenaline Mob are comprised of drummer Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater, ex-Avenged Sevenfold), frontman Russell Allen (Symphony X), guitarist Mike Orlando (TRED) and bassist John Moyer (Disturbed). ‘Coverta’ arrives on March 12, coinciding with the opening date of the tour which takes place at Toad’s Place in New Haven, Conn. The disc includes the band’s takes on such hard rock and metal standards as Dio ‘s ‘Stand Up and Shout,’ Rainbow ‘s ‘Kill the King’ and Black Sabbath ‘s ‘The Mob Rules.’ The group also covers Badlands’ ‘High Wire,’ the Doors ‘ ‘Break on Through,’ Van Halen ‘s ‘Romeo Delight,’ Heart ‘s ‘Barracuda’ and Led Zeppelin ‘s ‘The Lemon Song.’ As for the tour, it is not known exactly how many of the covers will make the band’s set list, but it’s fair to assume you’ll hear at least a few sprinkled in among the songs from the band’s debut disc, ‘ Omerta .’ The trek runs through an April 7 finale in Richmond, Va., with support from Nothing More on the tour’s first leg. Adrenaline Mob returned to the studio in December, but it’s not known if anything other than the new cover songs were recorded during the session or when we might expect their next original release. January 29th, 2013 Metalkult Orgymusic.com Orgy continue their return to the music scene, as the band just revealed dates for their 2013 ‘Wide Awake and Dead’ North American tour. The trek launches March 2 in Phoenix and continues through an April 2 finale in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Joining Orgy on the tour will be upstart acts Vampires Everywhere and Davey Suicide. In late 2010, Orgy’s original lineup underwent a shakeup with singer Jay Gordon retaining the rights to the name and restocking the band with new musicians. In the time since, Gordon and new Orgy members Nic Speck (bass), Jamie Miller (drums), Carlton Bost and Ashburn Miller (guitars) have sparingly toured and ducked into the studio to record the recent single, ‘ Grime of the Century .’ The band also released a video for the track last fall. In the downtime between touring, the group has been working on a new album and while details have yet to be revealed on the forthcoming disc, the return to the road is a good sign that more music may be coming from the band fairly soon.
