Kid Rock Presents Wounded Warrior With New Michigan Home

Rick Diamond, Getty Images Kid Rock ‘s generosity knows no bounds, especially when it comes to his hometown of Detroit and by extension his home state of Michigan. The rocker’s good will was on display again recently when he teamed with Pulte Homes and Operation Finally Home to have a new home built for a returning “wounded warrior” and his family. MLive.com reports that Sgt. Davin Dumar, an Army vet who lost his left leg and injured his arm after an improvised explosive device went off, first learned that his family was in the running for a new home last fall. According to a CNN report (seen below), Dumar and his wife were one of a handful of couples under consideration for the home, having undergone a series of interviews to be chosen. The couple was on their way to a model home, presumably for one final interview, when they were greeted by Rock and representatives from Pulte Homes and Operation Finally Home who were there to share the news that they had been selected and to show them the designs of their new home. Rock stated, “My heart is pumping just to be part of it. Just to work with Dan [from Operation Finally Home] to make it happen for someone like Sgt. Dumar here, so deserving.” For his part, Dumar shared his shock at the events of the day, adding, “I’m completely surprised. I certainly didn’t think I’d be having a cigar with Kid Rock today.” MLive reports that after construction started late last year, the couple recently moved into their Macomb Township home. Alice in Chains Announce Spring 2013 U.S. Tour

Photo by Dave Ma As excitement for Alice in Chains ‘ 2013 as-yet-untitled album continues to build, fans have been gifted with more good news from the band. Alice in Chains have just announced a month-long U.S. tour beginning in Miami Beach, Fla., on April 25. Alice in Chains haven’t ventured on a comprehensive tour for well over two years, having last performed a lengthy string of dates in 2010 to support their most recent album, ‘Black Gives Way to Blue.’ The legendary grunge rock band recently unveiled a music video for the new track ‘Hollow,’ which was put together by acclaimed director Roboshobo ( Metallica , Mastodon , Green Day ). Accompanying the hypnotic and tripped out song, the video for ‘Hollow’ adds a visual dimension to the song’s protagonist losing himself in an empty repetition of daily tasks until his last thread stitched into reality finally snaps away. Check out Alice in Chains’ upcoming tour dates below and stay tuned for more news on the band’s 2013 album as further information is revealed. The Devil Wears Prada + As I Lay Dying Join Forces for 2013 Marathon Metalcore Tour

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire It was a massive year for The Devil Wears Prada and As I Lay Dying , as both bands played 2012′s extremely successful Mayhem tour over the summer. And now the two acts will continue the momentum with a 2013 co-headlining North American trek dubbed the ‘Marathon Metalcore Tour.’ The Devil Wears Prada will trek around the States and Canada in support of their latest album, 2011′s ‘Dead Throne,’ while As I Lay Dying will be touring behind their sixth studio album, 2012′s ‘Awakened.’ The two bands are no strangers, especially since As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was the guest vocalist on the Devil Wears Prada track ‘Constance’ off of ‘Dead Throne.’ Perhaps we will see Lambesis grace the stage with TDWP vocalist Mike Hranica to perform the tune live? For Today will serve as support on all dates except March 7 and 8. The Color Morale will serve as opening act from Feb. 22 – March 7, while the Chariot will join the lineup from March 8 – April 4. This colossal tour kicks off on Feb. 22 in Ventura, Calif., and wraps up April 4 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
