Many music fans were surprised to learn about Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger's engagement to pop star Avril Lavigne when People magazine broke the news last night (Aug. 21). The two Canadian music stars had been working together on Lavigne's upcoming album, and that work in the studio apparently blossomed into a secret romance that was only revealed upon the announcement of the pair's engagement. With the enormous success that Nickelback and Lavigne have both had, it's fair to say each act has had their share of haters. While we want to congratulate the two musicians on their engagement, we couldn't help but notice some very funny Twitter reactions to the surprising news.
