Intronaut Unveil Another New track In ‘The Way Down’

By now, you’ll probably understand that we are all extremely excited for the new Intronaut record. Ever since I saw them perform the majority of their new album live a few weeks back, I’ve been wanting the record to finally just come out so I can listen to it all of the time. Now we’re hearing a third track from their upcoming record, and it’s another great one. The song, titled ‘The Way Down’ , is a perfect example of how good this record is truly going to be, retaining the Intronaut “sound” but still managing to evolve into a better whole. You can listen to the track over at the incredibly Dutch site, visions.de . Be sure to preorder and pick up the new record  Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones) out March 19th via Century Media records. – SS

HIM Unveil ‘Tears on Tape’ Album Art

Razor & Tie HIM continue to give a little bit more as they get closer to the release of their upcoming ‘ Tears on Tape ‘ album. The band’s website , which has featured a clock splash page for a good portion of the past month, has finally changed to feature a horned art piece, complete with the band’s “heartagram” logo and an empty box. However, fans who type in the words “Tears on Tape” into the box will get a quick flash of the album’s new cover art. What appears is a snake who has wound itself around in a circle with symbols on the body throughout. In the middle of the of the circular snake is the band’s “Heartagram” logo, while outside of the snake piece is blocked artwork that looks similar to the waves of an ocean. You can see the final piece to your left. HIM recently announced an April 30 street date for their eighth studio album. Frontman Ville Valo stated about the upcoming disc, “‘Tears on Tape’ is going to be really organic, straight-in-your-face, super melancholy bulls— [Laughs]. It’s going to be something nobody’s heard before. I’m really happy about it. It sounds great. Remember the soundtrack for ‘Twin Peaks’ that Angelo Badalamenti did? It’s got that similar forlorn, melancholy quality but mixed up with Motörhead. That’s where we’re at! We’re really happy. It’s got that dreamlike quality. It’s like Roy Orbison meeting Metallica.” The band will make their way to the States to promote the effort this spring. Dates for the 2013 North American tour can be seen here . Shadows Fall Drop Off 2013 European + UK Tours

Razor & Tie Shadows Fall  had been set for a big spring overseas. The band had booked dates with Testament  in Europe and  Ill Nino  in the UK, but now they’ve bowed out of both of those tours.  Shadows Fall revealed that they were exiting the upcoming treks due to “a number of circumstances beyond our control.” It is unknown what those circumstances are. However, the band as a whole appears to be okay having just completed an early year tour with Hatebreed , Dying Fetus and The Contortionist . It is known that guitarist Jon Donais would be taking leave from the band over the next couple of months (with Shadows Fall’s encouragement) to play with Anthrax in Australia and on that group’s ‘Metal Alliance’ U.S. tour this spring. But it is not known if his absence played into the band bowing out of their overseas dates. The group offered their statement on the matter in a Facebook posting that reads as follows: Due to a number of circumstances beyond our control, Shadows Fall has been forced to cancel our upcoming European tour with Testament and our co-headlining UK run with Ill Niño. We tried everything we could to make this tour happen and exhausted all options we could think of but unfortunately we were not able to work it out. We sincerely apologize to all the fans, promoters and bands involved. Everyone in Shadows Fall thank you for understanding and we plan on making it up to our European fans as soon as possible. Shadows Fall have been promoting their ‘ Fire From the Sky ‘ album, which dropped last May. The disc has already spawned the title track and the follow-up single ‘ The Unknown .’ [button href=”http://loudwire.com/shadows-fall-thoughts-without-words-top-21st-century-metal-songs/” title=”Next: Shadows Fall – Top 21st Century Metal Songs” align=”center”]

Alkaline Trio Unleash ‘I Wanna Be a Warhol’ Off Upcoming Album

Epitaph As one of modern punk rock’s most prolific acts, Alkaline Trio have been constantly putting out music since the band came together in 1996. It feels like a strange knock to the skull to hear that Alkaline Trio will soon be releasing their ninth studio album, but the Trio have just released the first single, ‘I Wanna Be a Warhol,’ from their upcoming 2013 album. After what will likely be Alkaline Trio’s longest drought between 100-percent-new full-length albums, the band will release their yet-untitled ninth studio album this year. As a first strike from the upcoming disc, Alkaline Trio have just unleashed the song ‘I Wanna Be a Warhol’ along with a lyric video with a vintage biker theme. As a reference to famed artist Andy Warhol, the song parallels the need to be appreciated the way an art collector pines over and shows off a masterful painting. The track bares a classic Alkaline Trio sound reminiscent of ‘Good Mourning’ or ‘Crimson’ with a slight synth twist, containing lyrics such as, “ Give me a taste of your misery, let’s go / Won’t you please come play chemistry and sorrow / I can’t believe anything that you’re telling me, let’s go / The walls are closing in and melting nice and slow. ” Check out Alkaline Trio’s new song ‘I Wanna Be a Warhol’ and its accompanying lyric video below: Alkaline Trio, ‘I Wanna Be a Warhol’

Rob Zombie’s Upcoming Album to Feature Cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s ‘We’re an American Band’

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire He’s coming to your town, his band will help you party down! That’s right, Rob Zombie is covering the Grand Funk Railroad classic, ‘We’re an American Band’ on his upcoming album, ‘ Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor ,’ which is due in stores April 23. More details have been announced regarding the upcoming disc, including the revelation that Zombie is covering the ’70s-era favorite. The song would seemingly be a solid fit for Zombie given how much praise his heaped upon the current lineup of his band. The vocalist has been gung-ho about how he feels concerning the new record, and he adds about the latest effort, “I think for the first time this new album perfectly merges the old days of White Zombie with the future of what I am doing now. I think fans of both will agree this is the perfect combo of both worlds.” In addition to ‘We’re an American Band,’ Zombie revealed that the lead single from the upcoming disc will be the song ‘Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town.’ It will be joined on the album by tracks with such awesome titles as ‘Ging Gang Gong De Do Gong De Laga Raga,’ ‘Lucifer Rising’ and ‘Behold! The Pretty Filthy Creatures.’ The album will be the first release on Zombie’s new label Zodiac Swan.
