Lzzy Hale Joins Slash for Cover of Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Out Ta Get Me’ at Sweden’s Bandit Rock Awards

YouTube There are times in rock where the planets just align for a great collaboration and that happened again last week (Feb. 22) at Stockholm, Sweden’s Bandit Rock Awards when Halestorm ‘s Lzzy Hale  hopped onstage to join  Slash and his touring band Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators for a performance of Guns N’ Roses ‘ ‘Out Ta Get Me.’ This isn’t the first time the pair have teamed up on the song, as Hale crossed paths with Slash and his band in The Netherlands last year and also performed the Guns N’ Roses cover. At the time, Hale stated, “It was so cool. When we started the song, out of habit I went into live rock mode and kind of spaced out for a second and then went into the middle section where we were just kind of riffing with the solo and just kind of lost my mind for a second. I was like, ‘What’s going on? Slash is right here! He’s sweating on me!’ It was so cool. It was the best thing ever.” This time around, Hale and her old pal Slash were better acquainted and even shared a warm embrace at the end of the performance. Fan-shot footage from the Bandit Rock Awards performance can be seen below. In addition to playing ‘Out Ta Get Me’ with Slash onstage a couple of times, the Guns N’ Roses song was one of Halestorm’s covers on their 2011 EP, ‘ ReAniMate: The Covers EP .’ Halestorm, who just won the Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance Grammy , will return to the States in April when they begin the HardDrive Live Tour with Bullet for My Valentine . HIM Unveil ‘Tears on Tape’ Album Art

Razor & Tie HIM continue to give a little bit more as they get closer to the release of their upcoming ‘ Tears on Tape ‘ album. The band’s website , which has featured a clock splash page for a good portion of the past month, has finally changed to feature a horned art piece, complete with the band’s “heartagram” logo and an empty box. However, fans who type in the words “Tears on Tape” into the box will get a quick flash of the album’s new cover art. What appears is a snake who has wound itself around in a circle with symbols on the body throughout. In the middle of the of the circular snake is the band’s “Heartagram” logo, while outside of the snake piece is blocked artwork that looks similar to the waves of an ocean. You can see the final piece to your left. HIM recently announced an April 30 street date for their eighth studio album. Frontman Ville Valo stated about the upcoming disc, “‘Tears on Tape’ is going to be really organic, straight-in-your-face, super melancholy bulls— [Laughs]. It’s going to be something nobody’s heard before. I’m really happy about it. It sounds great. Remember the soundtrack for ‘Twin Peaks’ that Angelo Badalamenti did? It’s got that similar forlorn, melancholy quality but mixed up with Motörhead. That’s where we’re at! We’re really happy. It’s got that dreamlike quality. It’s like Roy Orbison meeting Metallica.” The band will make their way to the States to promote the effort this spring. Dates for the 2013 North American tour can be seen here . Halestorm Bring the Rock to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ With ‘Love Bites’ and ‘Freak Like Me’

Facebook: Halestorm Halestorm got in a little late night action Tuesday (Jan. 29), performing on ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and sharing two of their favorite tracks for the studio audience. ‘Love Bites (So Do I)’ aired on the national television broadcast, while the band also performed their current single, ‘Freak Like Me,’ as a Web-only bonus. Both performances can be seen below. Lzzy Hale , with her long hair pulled up for the evening, delivered her usual amount of energy and vitality on ‘Love Bites (So Do I).’ The track began with the combination of drummer Arejay Hale’s arms and hair flying during the hard-hitting intro, while Lzzy and guitarist Joe Hottinger traded some wicked licks. As for the Web-only bonus performance, ‘Freak Like Me,’ Lzzy Hale and bassist Josh Smith brought a perfect vocal blend during the chorus and Arejay Hale got a little bit of camera time to show off some of his stick handling on the song. Lzzy also unleashed a fairly powerful blood-curdling scream during the track. Halestorm are currently enjoying a respite from the road, but will head to Europe in March for a tour before returning to the States in April to play the ‘ HardDrive Live ‘ tour with headliners Bullet for My Valentine . Papa Roach Unveil ‘Where Did the Angels Go’ Video

Photo by Chris Konigsmayr Papa Roach are definitely as hot as ever and audiences get a glimpse of that with the band’s latest video for ‘Where Did The Angels Go.’ The song is the latest single off the group’s ‘ The Connection ‘ album and you can definitely feel the sparks flying. The video finds the band performing inside what appears to be a rundown industrial warehouse, though the artwork for ‘The Connection’ hangs suspiciously in the background. The group deliver a high-adrenaline performance of the song as the camera work uses quick cuts, shaky movement and bright and dark lighting to give the video a more jarring feel. The final effect is the usage of sparks flying and fire breaking out on certain instruments that show exactly how hot this performance is. ‘Where Did the Angels Go’ is off to a solid start for the band and it’s currently doing battle in Loudwire’s Cage Match . The song should become one of the band’s live favorites. The group has been enjoying a European tour with Stone Sour over the last month, giving them their first chance to test out the music from their new album since Jacoby Shaddix’s vocal surgery this summer. Papa Roach and Stone Sour will return to the States early next year  for a co-headlining North American tour.
