Coheed and Cambria are hitting the road to promote their upcoming full-length album, ‘The Afterman: Descension,” which will hit stores on Feb. 5. The album acts as the follow-up to the band’s 2012 album, ‘The Afterman: Ascension.’ Between the Buried and Me are currently at an extremely high point, having just released ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence,’ which we gave a rare perfect five-star review . Much like Coheed’s release, ‘The Parallax II’ is also a follow-up record, which continues the story that began with ‘The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues’ EP. Chicago-based instrumental act Russian Circles are a fitting opening act for the tour, combining progressive rock and metal in the vein of both Coheed and BTBAM. Between the Buried and Me Escape Bus Fire in England

Speakeasy PR Between the Buried and Me are doing okay after undergoing a somewhat scary bus fire en route to a show in England. Luckily there were no injuries and the band was able to escape the bus unscathed. Tour manager Courtney Warner says, “As of now, we are at a service area awaiting transportation to a hotel. A new bus is on its way. We shouldn’t miss any shows because of this. All gear, luggage, personal items and most importantly, people, are all good. We just stink like smoke.” Guitarist Paul Waggoner adds, “Fuel line done broke. Dadgum flame come shootin out. Peeewwww eeehhhhh sometin’ stank. Crazy British feller come hollerin, ‘Bus on fire, ya’ll git.’ Climb up the ol’ hill barefoot and look back at them flames shootin sky high. Firemen folk come rushin up real quick like and squirt that fire plum out. It was lucky nobody was hurt, not even a stubbed toe. Luggage stank like a Mississippi cow pie on a mid-July heat. Hopefull, come tomorra, a new horse n’ buggy come. We’ll giddy on up to Belgium town for a good ol’ fashioned hootnanny. Whoo-Doggies!!!” The bus fire comes as the band is in the midst of an overseas trek promoting their ‘ The Parallax II: Future Sequence ‘ album. The band is currently trekking across Europe with Periphery and the Safety Fire, with their next show coming tomorrow night (Oct. 10) in Antwerp, Germany. The band will return stateside Nov. 4 for Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest, before once again packing up and heading overseas for dates in Japan, Australia and New Zealand to finish out the year. Between the Buried and Me Guitarists Unveil Close-Up Performances of New Song ‘Telos’

Metal Blade Experimental metallers Between the Buried and Me are approaching the release of their sixth studio album, ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence.’ The band has already treated fans to the 10-minute epic ‘Telos’ along with the album’s kickstart track ‘Astral Body,’ but now Loudwire is proud to exclusively host never-before-seen, close-up footage of BTBAM guitarists Paul Waggoner and Dustie Waring demonstrating the dual guitar mastery from ‘Telos.’ In our recent interview with Paul Waggoner, the guitarist described ‘Telos’ as “the meat” of the band’s upcoming 72-minute album, and once the record comes out, fans will surely gain an understanding of what Waggoner means. ‘The Parallax II’ is the full-length follow-up to their 2011 EP, ‘The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues,’ which begins the storyline continued within ‘Future Sequence.’ “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary,” begins Waggoner. “While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, ‘Future Sequence’ contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another.” Between the Buried and Me’s latest masterwork, ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence,’ will blast fans into the infinity of space on Oct. 9. Between the Buried and Me Unveil ‘Astral Body’ Video From ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence’

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire With just under two weeks before their upcoming album ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence’ is released, Between the Buried and Me have premiered the first official video from the album, ‘Astral Body.’ The clip was directed by Wes Richardson. The video draws from the concepts of 2011′s ‘The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues’ EP and the new album. “To see lyrics and music come to life in a video is an unexplainable feeling. I literally am speechless every time I watch what he has done with this video,” says BTBAM singer Tommy Rogers. The ‘Astral Body’ video explores a design structure that would make up the creator’s dream while floating through space. The structure is a digital blueprint of the world he once knew. Richardson also made use of location photography, footage, and photo-real visual effects to capture the surface on the planet. “When we decided to create a video for this song I never expected to have visuals of this quality,” Rogers explains. “Wes has done an outstanding job of taking the lyrics and creating a world that won’t let the viewer turn away. We are very lucky to have such talented people surround us.” Guitarist Paul Waggoner details the concept of ‘Parallax II.’ “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, ‘Future Sequence’ contains the action of the story.” BTBAM kick off a European tour  Oct. 1 in the UK followed by Japan, Australia and New Zealand dates.
