Between the Buried and Me Unveil ‘Astral Body’ Video From ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence’

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire With just under two weeks before their upcoming album ‘The Parallax II: Future Sequence’ is released, Between the Buried and Me have premiered the first official video from the album, ‘Astral Body.’ The clip was directed by Wes Richardson. The video draws from the concepts of 2011′s ‘The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues’ EP and the new album. “To see lyrics and music come to life in a video is an unexplainable feeling. I literally am speechless every time I watch what he has done with this video,” says BTBAM singer Tommy Rogers. The ‘Astral Body’ video explores a design structure that would make up the creator’s dream while floating through space. The structure is a digital blueprint of the world he once knew. Richardson also made use of location photography, footage, and photo-real visual effects to capture the surface on the planet. “When we decided to create a video for this song I never expected to have visuals of this quality,” Rogers explains. “Wes has done an outstanding job of taking the lyrics and creating a world that won’t let the viewer turn away. We are very lucky to have such talented people surround us.” Guitarist Paul Waggoner details the concept of ‘Parallax II.’ “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, ‘Future Sequence’ contains the action of the story.” BTBAM kick off a European tour  Oct. 1 in the UK followed by Japan, Australia and New Zealand dates. Arch Enemy Fight for Animal Rights in Graphic ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’ Video

Facebook: Arch Enemy Arch Enemy ‘s 2011 album, ‘Khaos Legions,’ continues it’s triumphant reign, as the band has just released a video for the album’s fourth single, ‘Cruelty Without Beauty.’ Targeted towards combatting animal cruelty, ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’ offers a disturbing look into the all-too-real truth behind vivisection, or the act of performing operations on live animals for the purpose of experimentation and scientific research. The lyrics for ‘Cruelty Without Beauty,’ which are transcribed throughout the video, address the horrors of vivisection. Vocalist Angela Gossow is an outspoken enemy of such scientific experiments, along with other forms of animal cruelty. “I’m very pleased we got this video done for one of my favourite songs off the ‘Khaos Legions’ album,” says Gossow. “The video is quite raw and extreme as it reflects the lyrics very well I believe, dealing with a subject matter close to my heart – animal cruelty and vivisection.” Gossow continues, “We want to thank the good folks at Peta2, Hardforce, Metalitalia and The Metal Circus for supporting a serious subject. All of us have been well aware that a video like this doesn’t find everybody’s acceptance. But rock music was always more than guitar riffs – it’s also the voice of the voiceless.” Although the video is disturbing, much of the animal cruelty footage is in black and white, along with being showcased in short bursts, which succeeds in spreading the song’s message without overwhelming the viewer. AFI Singer Davey Havok to Release Debut Novel ‘Pop Kids’

Black Candy Publishing AFI singer Davey Havok is certainly an accomplished and celebrated musician, and now the vocalist is about to delve into the world of books to make his debut as an author. In Havok’s upcoming novel ‘Pop Kids,’ the singer explores the modern teenage obsession with social networking, reality TV, internet porn, fashion, film, music, sex and drugs. The most recent AFI album, ‘Crash Love,’ was released back in 2009, and since AFI has constantly been releasing new material since their ‘Dork’ EP in 1993, fans may be wondering what exactly Havok has been up to since AFI’s 2009 record. In addition to his side project Blaqk Audio, the apparent answer is ‘Pop Kids,’ which has been given an April 4 release date by Black Candy Publishing. The publishing company offers an in-depth analysis of what readers can expect from ‘Pop Kids’: Acknowledging the power of popular culture to serve as both a corrupter and a creative force, Havok welcomes readers into a world where wearing the right clothes, listening to the right music, and indulging in a vicious cycle of self-gratifying behaviors is more important than anything else. Parents, teachers, and other adults are but vague shadows in the lives of these teens. Pop Kids may shock some readers with its unflinching portrayal of a generation weaned on modern media and the cult of celebrity. But according to Havok, this is a world that really exists. He captures it with his trademark use of wordplay and his eye for detail. Pop Kids is destined to become a classic story of teenage angst, nihilistic behavior, and longed-for redemption. A video teaser has also been unveiled for ‘Pop Kids,’ depicting a young male character staring into a fiery blaze, almost hypnotized as he flicks a yellow-and-black Zippo-style lighter open and closed. The teaser also contains an intriguing string of dialogue from within the mind of the video’s protagonist, creating a gripping osmosis of curiosity within the viewer. ‘Pop Kids’ will hit bookshelves on April 4, and a special embossed edition signed by Havoc himself is now available for pre-order . ‘Pop Kids’ – Official Trailer #1 – Prologue [button href=”http://loudwire.com/afi-girls-not-grey-top-21st-century-hard-rock-songs/” title=”AFI – Top 21st Century Hard Rock Songs” align=”center”]
